Tragedy of a legend

Whanging Willow's lighting wand
He is, the legend Imran Khan

The world has known him since long
His charisma and bravery are strong

From cricketer to a philanthropist he evolved
His free cancer hospital is an inspiration to all

He steps into politics to help more the poor
And challenges the world for being so hypocrite

He talks of God, freedom, equality and love
Plants 10 billion trees to fight climate change

Did much to improve the lives of unprivileged class
And call for justice and peace on different world forums

His sole reward is 30 years jail
A national and international conspiracy in place

Thanks for this poem, Paghunda. I didn't know anything about Pakistani politics, but just googled Imran Khan. Sounds like "no good deed goes unpunished".

It doesn't sound good or seem right that he is being treated so harshly. I know he tried to reduce military spending and did several things to fix the economy of Pakistan. We have a lot to worry about in this world.

What a pathetic joke how he is being treated... its so unfair and it seems the good guys are portrayed as the bad guys because they are not corrupt, which thieves like Sharif roam freely... and that idiot Musharaf..
