Premium MemberA Place After Death

Death is mysterious
A place after death unintelligible
Buying a place in the cemetery is expensive
Someone pays sixty thousands
To buy a place in heaven
Must be cheated
While many people are still struggling
For a living
Some people are already busy searching for
A place after death
Emphasizing cemetery feng shui and luxury
At a loss, in a mess
For a poor man
At least a tombstone or a columbarium
To be remembered
After burial or cremation
At least love remains
To be remembered
By the loved ones

Dawn hurls light
A new day starts;
Precious moments

~~~~~~~~~
Fresh morning air
Morning mist frames;
Birdsong psalm
~~~~~~~~~

Old pavilion
Stray echoes loiter;
Mid-autumn tea

~~~~~~~~~
Children frolic
Playground antics;
Childhood workout
~~~~~~~~~

Old footpath here
Meaningful interlude;
Silence speaks well

~~~~~~~~~
Old lovers stroll
Soft stray footfalls;
Speak in silence
~~~~~~~~~

Bamboo pines sway
Breezy melancholy;
Columbarium precinct

~~~~~~~~~
Sexy contours
Dangerous profile;
Dazzling beauty
~~~~~~~~~

Wise maxim echoes:
Know Thyself;
Deadly finesse exhorts

~~~~~~~~~
Wet day
Slippery roads;
Traffic jam
~~~~~~~~~

Joy jumps
Love leaps;
Knot tied

~~~~~~~~~
Seek truth
Seize proof;
Beauty blooms
~~~~~~~~~

Dawn sparkles
Plumeria sunrise;
Floral greeting

~~~~~~~~~
Old bamboo grove
Silent sentinels;
Leafy murmurs
~~~~~~~~~

Rainbow sky
Sun beams bounce;
Drizzle dazzle

~~~~~~~~~
Young lovers
Parkway bench;
Charm greets smiles
~~~~~~~~~

Wet market wares
Food varieties shout;
Picky customers

~~~~~~~~~
Lunch crowd
Ready-to-eat food;
Hungry mouths queue
~~~~~~~~~

Columbarium hallway
Deserted niches;
No one comes

~~~~~~~~~
Lines to write
Reason declines;
Verse craft lingers
~~~~~~~~~

Gymnos

archetypically,
I sow my hysterical libido,
in the Jungian brain garden,
and reap only ecclesiastical weeds,
and subconscious rashes...

breaking apart, engorged,
mad egoist, freudian slip'd,
spilling repressed aloes,
into her ashen columbarium...

penitent, penniless,
scrabbled up the storied mount,
silently trapp'd, interlocuted,
cast back to a southern field...

adiposed, juniper kiss'd,
scarlet nin, flagrante delict(oh),
wagging tongued, freely spoken,
i'll come round again,

ecstatically.

Moon glow magic
Sparkling soliloquy;
Look who's talking?

~~~~~~~~~
Feel fond caress
Stray wind tickles;
Impending rain
~~~~~~~~~

Laughter echoes
Old corridors winding;
Seeking sunlight

~~~~~~~~~
Old school building
Closed for demolition;
Echoes of odd laughter
~~~~~~~~~

Stillness and calm
Columbarium corridors;
Stray souls loiter

~~~~~~~~~
Lovebird sparrows
Chirping sweet nothings;
Bougainvillea branch
~~~~~~~~~

By these corridors
Ancient memories;
Silence once a luxury

~~~~~~~~~
Death owns assets
Urns of ashy remains;
Neat niches in rows
~~~~~~~~~

If only
We knew better;
Debt collector tales

~~~~~~~~~
Joy and sorrow
Moments of madness;
Then we die
~~~~~~~~~

What Goes Up, Must Come Down

In that spark, at summit
When sky is just on the way and is not the limit
Like lime being squeezed out of last drop of juice
As throne and king, in sweet affiliation, never in truce
High up taunting the call of gravity
Columbarium in tornado, reunion with plummeting abyss a true test of vitality
Motivation a lambasted frugality, an eternal ignite for those who drown
Is in action when what goes up starts to come down

Self-talking old man
Spends all day mumbling;
Best cryptic lines

Sun in my eyes briefly
Antiseptic tears;
Crystal clear sights

Prompt as usual
Bills in the mail;
Paid with gratitude

Make love your work
Then play becomes
Labour at life's altar

Columbarium thoughts
Death sleeps soundly;
No U-turns here

Brief monologue
Niche 211-1-88;
Visit dead parents

Love tolerates
Stuff and nonsense;
God is good

A friend suffers
Cancer treatment;
Poison cocktail drugs

Chemotherapy drip
Steady poison pump;
Balding afterglow

Life is hazardous:
Keep calm
And don't kill yourself

My niece eats and sleeps
Fine arts and great design;
Skinny as mini Coke Zero

Hamburger generation
Fussy one of a kind;
Fast everything and Facebook

COLUMBARIUM THOUGHTS
(For my late mother Eng Neo.)
----------------------------------

Slow loiter here,
Brief moments sight
Solemn my dear --
Death's certain light!

Blood ties shape moods
Here as we glimpse
This surreal good,
Etches that stream.

In life's passage
Through time and space,
Love's a message
That attracts grace.

He who knows "Why?"
Can live and cope
With lows and highs
With faith and hope.

Fine weather greets
Our presence here --
Memorial street
To meet quaint cheer.

Right here we stand,
Gather to see --
Red niche slab can
Old era free.

At last, we see
Rest side by side
Two urns surely,
Calmly abide.

We loiter here:
Family comes
To feel old cheer,
Pray on a psalm.

i stood over looking
the general view
of the bath of caracalla
evading sudatorium seduction
the church of st. cesarea
in palatio captured my thoughts
rather quickly i entered
sarcphagus of lucius scipio barbatus
dazed i was gently lifted
hovering above columbarium
of villa codini ah my human sufferage
unleashed near the arch of drusus
i found myself kneeling
beyond the gate of st. sebastian
how i'd remembered
the findings of the church
of domine quo vadis
welcoming of monks settled
deeply within catacombs
of st. callistus the fine
chapel of cornelius
the bishop winks at the sight
of cecilia's remains hisses of trickery
a covenant maderno's manner
lessons and arrows embedded
amids sebastians sculpture
ravished by greif
for giorgetti's finali catacombs
and tombs surrounding
my morbid energy force
abruptly backing right into
circus of mexentius shouting
metella metella open
the appian way
seneca's revealed
the tower of selce in ruins
