Civilisation Poems

Caveman

Civilisation's got me down
taking me to the tail of my tether
driving me round the bend
I'm not going to stick it out
to see where it will end
I'll do my best to regress
back to the stone age
cook on fire paint the walls
sit on rocks keep my cool
do what I have to when nature calls
humanity gets my goat
making

Clash of Civilisation

The Mesopotamians,
The birthplace of writing, building the ziggurats and palaces.
The Greeks,
Warriors and philosophers, diverse in their ways of thinking.
The Romans,
Masters of conquests and destruction.
The Egyptians,
With creative minds and architectural prowess.
All are different and diverse.
But they still all believe that they are the one.
They believe that they are the protagonists of our world.
Portraying their stories

Children of a Mirror

Our minds are a mirror's fragments now facing each other
Reflecting rays of thoughts and passions from each ever-turning face
Building a house named "Sympathy" built from those shaky beams

Inspired by a passage from David Hume's A Treatise of Human Nature, Book 2, Section 5. "In general we may remark, that the minds of men are mirrors

Gun Culture

Since the known civilisation, rules have changed
for positive progress and prosperity of people and
community and country across the entire universe.
Rules do not drive backward but always move forward
for the coming decades and centuries and millennia
education, health, development and progress
move for the righteous path of peace and prosperity.
But suddenly talks of mediaeval

Civilisation

Some people give joy wherever they go
Finding so many adventures along the way,
Some cause hope in whatever task they do,
To keep civilization progressing each day.

This present world needs people like yourself.
Its pleasures and treasures are literally dying,
Only the strong survive by their inner strength,
Embrace the responsibility that God has given.

Go out among people and

Plato’s memory of the great city by the sea;
a republic rich with ancient wisdom,
is lost to the living.

Centuries vast, yet decayed by the human hand,
can’t share their progress.
Secrets hidden in sand beneath angry seas,
wash away forever.

Gaia’s womb holds the key to a utopia;
one seen by Plato’s eyes;
one

Civilisation of the Highest Disorder

A god's dream is existence
In the hearts of these amnesic men
Most are insomniacs.
Lackadaisical,
whose survival
would always be undermined.
Then we colonize
Make them walk on their feet.
Blinded by their ego,
we neo-colonize
And I think, they still need to be recolonized
Gust of wind in them when luxury comes
Like an electrical surge,
they bring looted fortunes to us
Oh, a sudden

La Civilisation – Translation of Oodgeroo Noonuccal’s “Civilization” by T. Wignesan

Chaque jour

Monopoly Morden Civilisation

Monopoly morden civilisation
Tell the gun man to go home
For we need no more life hunters
In our communities any more
Already we know how strange
The world now is
So let be so you can be

Tell you jets to fly back to babylon
For we need no more eggs of dust
Any more in

Civilisation

The courtroom was hushed
      as Marco entered the room
      Meekly he entered the
      witness box.

     His large brown eyes
     glanced at the judge
