Premium MemberOur Festive Star

A fantastical year is wished the star
Sat on the festive tree, and in our hearts
You'll be remembered as long as we’re here
For the magic that to us would appear.

Our mother, our angel you'll always be
There is no other as lovely as thee
Your care and kindness was never undone
From the first moments our lives begun.

There's a wondrous light, that always beams bright
Gleaming in our hearts by day and by night
Not a day goes by without thoughts of you
Mother, our angel, your love sees us through.

May your time in heaven stay glorious
One day we'll be there to join the chorus
Of angels singing, songs of peace and love
Won't that be wonderful for each of us.

Us sisters wish love and peace evermore
In the room God saved for you on His shore.

Premium MemberTEMPORARY CATHEDRALS

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We fall backwards into the snowdrifts, arms sweeping arcs like wings in slow motion. Cold seeps through mittens, but the sky is sooooo wide. Pressed deep, we breathe cloud-breath into cloud-light. We rise, leaving behind these fragile ghosts their imprint remains after we stand~ temporary cathedrals, hollows where the world held us just long enough to matter.
Premium MemberOn One Holy Night
On one Holy Night
An Inn Keeper was experiencing a very thriving business
King Herod demonstrated his selfishness and his evilness
Joseph and Mary found no comfortable accommodations
On One Holy Night
The bright shinning star was obedient to God
The wisemen were focused and determined
The religious leaders knew the Scriptures
On One Holy Night
The angels were joyfully communicating God's message
to the world; And the shepherds were obedient and
convinced as they became carriers of good news
Premium MemberTonight is the Night
Tonight is the night that Santa takes off
With presents all kiddies are dreaming of
Reindeer are delighted
Extremely excited
All patiently waiting for the lift off.
Snow flakes have been falling, the earth glows bright
Houses are glittering with Christmas lights
Angels sing in sweet voice
As the earthlings rejoice
The baby born who was named Jesus Christ.
Premium MemberOH HEAR THE ANGELS' VOICES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Midnight chimes, softly the voices glide heavenly, untied~ Listen. Snowflakes pause, heaven echoes in crystalline air~ Hush now. Hymns flow singing our sorrows into the gloom~ Breathe in. Darkness parts, angels whispering through silent night~ Believe.

Premium MemberTHE CHRIST CHILD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I. straw-scratched cheek, small fist clenched—did angels warn you how manger splinters pierce? II. kings kneel, yet you grasp a shepherd’s calloused thumb first~ a carpenter’s thumb III. cold stable, warm breath. God wrapped in swaddling—waiting for nails, not our praise.
Premium MemberECHOES OF THE UNSEEN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, hear the angels' voices~ not in church hymns or sterling choirs, but in the trembling of moth wings against a porch light's glare, in the hiss of tires on wet asphalt as midnight pulls the curtain tight. They sing through broken things~ the ache of a bent nail left in wood, the sigh of a screen door swinging loose on one hinge. No halos, no trumpets~ just the unbearable tenderness of rain finding the cracks in everything we tried to seal.

Premium MemberJOY HELD HOSTAGE

He’s been on the lawn
Every year…for 40 years
A four foot tall plastic
Glowing, snowman
 I sat with him yesterday
As he looked a bit down.
Asked “what’s up old friend?”
He sighed, slowly spoke
Asking “where are all my friends?”
“There are no angels across the street
No bells chiming down the way
I haven’t heard one Christmas carol
Or seen one silly Christmas sweater”

I hesitated to tell him
The Grinch had actually
Stolen Christmas
Or at least held its joy hostage.
He flinched when I told him
“some even take offense at you”
Because of what you symbolize,
What you stir in the hearts of children
Reawaken in the hearts of alleged adults.

My neighbors are trying to figure out
Why I was sitting on the lawn
Singing Frosty the Snowman
Loudly and somewhat off key

Premium MemberMy Christmas Song

Light me a new candle,
  Put it before the manger,
    It is a bit cold, love.
      Yet we’re in no danger.

There's Jesus, a small babe
  In a cold, wintry day
    Lying on some fresh straw.
      Kneel down and calmly pray.

Mary, Joseph calmly,
  Adore the king of kings
    Shepherds come with their lambs
      Angels fly with bright wings.

Christ in Bethlehem born.
  Choirs sing heavenly hymns.
    Let us give Him His due
      Ask to forgive our sins.

Premium MemberA meek Christmas

Orange zest does invite us to fest
Another year of angst and anguish
How they more enviable are lavish
But pleasure in abundance-hence we
Were duly flattered by God’s approval
Removal from authority for one day
All our fears and anxiety at bay
Turkey heaven-little Tim only seven
Give him his joyous occasion-teen spirit
To the table without much persuasion
Blissful being-how the angels do sing
of our battle through the year, our tidings are
nearly here

Premium MemberCHRISTMAS POINSETTIA

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Midwinter’s blush—not born of frost, but coaxed from shadows when days shrink to slivers. A star-shaped constellation pressed between panes, each scarlet leaf a silent flare against winter’s gray. Some call it flor de Nochebuena, flower of the Holy Night~ as if crimson could hold reverence, as if a plant remembers angels or the weight of a child’s breath. Yet here it stands: unbothered by theology, a bold geometry of joy. Watch how its gold-tipped stamens ignite like votives~ not praying, simply being light.
Premium Member1428-THE FIRST NOEL
The angels did not sing. Not at first.
Their silence split the sky like frost on stone,
a pause between the star’s slow burst
and the breath that would become the song.
Noel, they’d say, but first—the dark,
the shepherd’s fire gnawing at the night,
the lamb’s pulse quick beneath his palm,
the weight of wool, the itch of straw,
the way a man might kneel
without knowing why.
Then~
the air grown thick with wings,
the cry like wine poured from a height,
the name that broke the nameless dark:
Noel, Noel, the root, the spark,
the falling, catching, light.
Now we hum it, clean and bright,
but the first Noel was half a scream~
the sound a world makes when it tears
and finds the seam is lined with gold.
Premium MemberA Cheery Festive Tree
I am a cheery festive Christmas tree
No surprise, folk truly do adore me
They decorate me with baubles and lights
I fill kiddies hearts with yuletide delights
They relish the chocolate money bags
Love the angels dressed in sparkly glad rags
They'll sing carols around me, it's such fun
Life as a Christmas tree is never glum
I'm blessed to be part of the holy joy
Bringing memories to each girl and boy.
