THE CHRIST CHILD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I. straw-scratched cheek, small fist clenched—did angels warn you how manger splinters pierce? II. kings kneel, yet you grasp a shepherd’s calloused thumb first~ a carpenter’s thumb III. cold stable, warm breath. God wrapped in swaddling—waiting for nails, not our praise.
