The empty bottle
By Michelle Morris

The empty bottle stares at him
It has nothing left to give
Yet despite all it's giving
It's taken so much from him

Self-respect and sobriety
Reputation and memories
He's had to claw back each time
From the blackness that it leaves

Becoming a small-town cop
Gives focus to his days
But every night holds memories
Of his ex wife's betrayals

All the cases he couldn't solve
All the bones and scattered hearts
He brought the ghosts with him
When he chose his brand new start

Every case becomes a mission
Being Chief a big responsibility
His dog the only companion
For a life of determined meaning

That empty bottle will keep staring
He'll focus on healing his soul
Helping find justice and honour
For the ones he helps make whole

Quota For Nypd

A class action has brought cops in New York, who label their Chief a liar, and the NYPD another "mafia organization," as they risk all, by saying they are asked to meet a quota of arrests. They are minority cops, and hate doing this to their own people, just to earn their rent and food. Enough is enough and they are speaking out ... they have spoken to the Media. Check it out before U mistrust the Messenger.

NOTE: The Judge threw out the Class Action lawsuit by the police officers for lack of evidence. Retaliation happened to officers, but they are not backing down. One retired & speaks out still .... Shalom, shalom. THERE IS HOPE RISING in ashes

War Cry

War Cries going up and down
through the valley of death
and the trail of tears all around

A golden eagle flies overhead
as each of his warriors return to
their bedsnn

He is a chief, a leader of man
and the future of a tribe that will one
day be Custer’s Last Stand
