Premium MemberWilly a Wooly Mammoth

Willy, a wild mammoth lives in my yard
Shedding head all over in clumps
Neighbors come by and collect it in bales
Making comforters, pillows and plush cushions
They bring casseroles, carrots, croissants and canapes
Willy has the best life, and he knows it
Milking it for all it is worth

Premium MemberFarty Party

newly deceased ghost lit his own caustic farts
wearing aluminum kitty cat ears with red jeweled hearts
our resident wild man Count Dracula laughed
as wisconsin cheese's weird math wizard graphed

gram’s annual preteen sunday school halloween party
was sailing with forthright butt-clenching gasses so farty
too many lima beans hidden under collard greens
fed to disguised beauty queens

embarrassed guests stood with their backs to the wall
scurrying titmouse squeaked displeasure to all
too much cutting of the cheese
a close by witch yelled out “jeez!”

Who made these canapes?
Yelled three disgruntled apes
bathroom was occupied all night
and the living room never smelled right

next year we will serve deer
and a whole lot less beer
beat cop heard what was said
he came around, Captain Fred

he arrested two who were dragg’n
passed out as he pushed them into paddy wagon
was one of those moments of gas
that we all wished would soon pass.

Premium MemberNew Year Eve Party

Having a party to welcome the New Year !
There will be a great variety of canapes,
and popcorn in flavors,
hot chicken wings,
cheesy nachos and tacos,
tear apart garlic bread,
meatballs in a spicy barbecue sauce,
and fruity, frosty margarita's !
Eggnog custard tarts and Bourbon brownies,
a white chocolate cake with Baileys,
and at exactly midnight we will all
toast the New Year . . .
with sparkling popped champagne
in fluted glasses!
Disclaimer: I will not be responsible
for your hangover on January 2 !

Premium MemberA Night To Remember

It can't have been the scallops
Or the rump of Islay lamb,
Washed down with white Rioja
Followed by sweet meringue.
It wasn't the skate au poivre
Or smoked salmon canapes
Nor garlic stuffed green olives
Or the double chocolate glaze.
The ruby red barolo
Is surely not to blame
(It was so very very good,
We had some more of the same).
The piquant piccalilli
That came with the ham terrine
Was absolutely to die for,
In French, "Cuisine Sublime".
The roasted veg in garlic,
The rich redcurrant sauce,
All perfectly delicious -
And then we passed the port.
Replete, we left the table
Of coffee to partake,
With a couple of Glenlivets
To sup for old times' sake.
A perfect evening, then off to bed
To dream of happy days.
'Twas not to be, a sudden waking
With a screeching shout of pain,
The hounds of hell were gnawing
At a foot now sore inflamed
And throbbing, throbbing, throbbing,
In purgatory now moaning,
In agony exclaiming,as,
Tormented, he writhes about,
"Must be a change in the weather
Has caused this devilish gout !"

Bon Appetit

Aperitifs and hard spirits,
With canapes and rarebits.
Delicious hors de ouvres,
Accompanied by tangy dips.
Tomato soup with crouton,
And an entree of mouton;
My strawberry red sorbet:
Makes way for my releve.
Bring on the roast,
Not with melba toast;
Poor lentils of course, are the ones hated most.
Don't forget legumes, are vegetables of course!
The entremets the sweetest,of the entire course.
This cafe's hot coffee, makes me feel not to snore,
I've got to the finish sipping Bailey's liqueur.

Memories of You

We met in October and walked hand in hand
Kicking leaves down country roads with canapes of gold
Picked our pumpkins from fields of yellow
Made love amongst the creaking stalks of dying corn
And rode a tractor together, laughing
Summers spent at Dover, licking ice cream as we walked on a pier, kissing
behind the lighthouse, lying on beaches under a tree which rustled in the
summer wind, we lay in the sand and made angels
And now after so many Octobers together, you again lie
under a tree in eternal sleep, and as I sit by your grave
I think, how ironic, as I brush away the Autumn leaves
that dare to cover your grave, and I see them swirl upward in the wind forever,
away and gone - like you, never to return...
