 butted up against my face

Moon's midriff chequered with light blue letterboxes and legos 
Carbon-dating the museums of our miniature hands riding the nightingale jukeboxes, 
Contoured in concertos of glacier nightgowns and batmobiles...
A topcoat of my father's snickerdoodle smiles sowed and watered beneath the morning's stale smile 
With a pretty loud "HEY KIDS ! Time for breakfast ! WAKE UP

They Don't Make Buddies Like Us Anymore

   I called him 'Wop'
  At two-on-two basketball
   We two were tops

  No pair could beat us
    in the whole city

How Lady and Fluffy Became Buddies

Lady was my  shepherd dog,,
she was so kind and gentle
except to chickens down the lane
when she broke loose from her kennel.

Let's  turn attention to a breed
that came from Pomerania.
 Queen Victoria for such dogs
was seized by a lifelong mania.

On canine matters I'll not stray..
Long lectures are so stuffy.
Rather, it's my firm intent
to describe

Drinking Buddies

OK, I never liked you guys
But now we're drinking buddies
To my great surprise

That giant Texas heat lamp
Brought us together
Because the drought you couldn't weather

I set up bird baths, just not for you
You ran 'em off, and squirrels, too
I was afraid of what you might do

The birds were flighty, the squirrels wily
But you guys stuck together

Stoner Buddies

Do you wanna come hear a concert with shared aux cord in my shed?
Do you wanna come have a hit from the green glass bong head?
Do you wanna come have more fun times with me again, without dread?

Barnyard Buddies

Barnyard buddies met in the barn at dawn.
We jumped in puddles, looking for meadow fawn.
She came sometimes, but was not here today.
Wonder why a chick said; I hope she’s okay!

We are close to each other, like sisters and bros.
We sit in the barnyard next to where tall corn grows.
Horse, cow, lambs, hen, rooster, and two

Would join me in the bar
And sit and sing to me
Always taking a break as
I replaced each finished drink
Then on with the music so
I’d no chance to think.

At times there were others
But always those five
They lived in my mind
And helped me survive.
