The dust of eons has not named me,
why would dust name dust?
I who have entered the world
through so many women,
and exited its bold-faced deceits
as sexless as a worm or an apple,
how then can I claim any name?
I recall being five-years old,
or maybe six.
a fever took me,
I lay in a white hospital sepulcher for days
until a mother whispered into my mind:
"Not yet."
I knew not which mother,
for all my mothers have been named
by passing dust storms.
My parents, who had previously entered
the flesh of the worm and apple,
also exited my whirlwind life,
though after they had named me
John,
and I am the one
who names Jesus now.
Today I hear his laughter,
I hear his merry laughter.

A lock of sweat-matted hair over one eye,
she shakes a red knuckled fist at a naked child,
wailing upon a cold floor.
Mary drying feet with her hair.
Mary at the temple calling.
A street corner Mary full of sperm,
full of a grace,
She is invisible to rabid dogs and drunks.
Old or young,
fat Mary on roller skates,
sweet Mary sucking candy,
badly handled, nameless Mary's.
Sweet Mother,
the sweet lure of jail baiters winking.
The bold-faced laughter
of the -you, free-thinking.
Today the sky is a Robin egg blue,
robed in virginal light.
In a Chick-fil-a, a family is praying
over their sandwiches.
I make the sign of the cross.
I mean, why not?

Santos fooled the folks as he spoke
George thinks mashing facts is a joke
This N.Y. House dope
Needs his mouth rinsed with soap
His diaper-rash words make me choke
Author's note: Why did voters in NY district #3 elect a bold-faced liar to Congress? Mr. Santos may have some kind of illness. Be that as it may, if a candidate freely lies, fools the voters, and receives no condemnation from his party's cohorts, it suggests the following:
It's not about where the ship of state sails, but rather who resides on the top deck. If the hull leaks, we can all go down, so even top-deck denizens ought to be careful about who does what.

Fifteen years in the same apartment,
before that twenty-five years in a bungalow.
Earlier still; digs, dumps and bedsits.
Peripatetic ambulation's
traveling in circles.
Left that world, travelled
met myself coming and going.
Saw the reaper
he had the eyes of a child.
Fell in with the dangerous kind,
loved many a bold faced liar,
misused the tender-hearted
spat at the devil; he wore a mask
behind that mask was a loving God
dancing on skulls.
Took a train up to the highest mountain
that a train can reach
and no further,
but it got me here into a recliner
musing over a cold beer
and a string of dwellings
pulled now like empty carriages
behind some derailed thoughts.

Jinxed juvenile slithers, withers unseen.
Feeling the angst of earlier guilt trips,
A Christian conscience and its censorships -
this golden-haired boy was not born to glean.
Mind colored from purloined men's' magazine;
(note purplish stains too on his fingertips).
Jinxed juvenile
Money, pills, small stuff pilfered by this teen
unearned awards, past moral radar blips,
deserved the harsh words from preacher-dad's lips.
Now bold-faced curse slips, as his face turns green.

Now and forevermore in eternal pain.
No more sunny skies, only thunder lightning and rain
Here I lay broken and my heart shattered
Crying out for help and peace yet going unheard so it doesn't even matter
To say it doesn't hurt is a total bold faced lie
Smile through the pain as much as I want but inside?? I want to die
To finally rest and forever be at peace
To be lifted to the Lord and off of my feet
But until then here I lay, piecing my heart soul and life together, even though they've all been slain
Now and forevermore am I in eternal pain

A new victim,
cast your eyes on your prey,
A lesson to learn,
tomorrow is a new day.
I'm taking back,
the things you stole,
My life, my mind,
my heart of gold.
My heart is broken,
my head won't let this be,
The demons of love,
call out and torture me.
As I lie awake,
in this empty bed,
My mind plays over,
the wickedness of your web.
I have heard that love,
should be easy, a simple thing,
Instead, it bites, cries,
bleeds and stings.
My whole being,
all twisted up in pain,
I can feel your betrayal,
pumping in my veins.
You fed me with lies,
and some affection,
Every move,
you set me up for the rejection.
I had to rise up,
from the ashes and fire,
Another heart broken,
by a bold-faced liar.
You made love,
look so damn easy,
I had no idea,
you were at work being sleazy.
I know the wheel,
continues to turn,
Another life lesson,
you live and you learn.

I can't save you. I was never meant to. Even though this path of mine is irrevocably twisted within yours, if so you drown, from the wayside I'll be forced to witness you fall the entire way down. How many portraits must be laid before eyes that just refuse to see a thousand words blatantly spelling of the errors that breed your ever present terrors.. If history wasn't keen on telling us that it told us so, the things we pretend to ignore would be the culmination of everything we always wanted to know..
There he is, that boy always covered in the dust of another goodbye. I've pleaded, screamed and bargained.. I've taken the blame, only to turn and find you've done the same, as if your validation comes from the shame. Toil with fruitless labor, exhaust yourself with an endless game.
The difference between you and I, it can be found bold faced and drenched in sympathy.. Subtle in every way save one.. The red paint stains your palms and covers all you've done..

The only thing I hate more than unintelligence
Is a bold-faced liar that thinks they blend amongst friends
Using weakenesses as weapons falsely condescending contention
Crashing house of cards paper tiger denys a correction
Even knowing that they face something beyond profound
This game they play only works on what is gained and not found
So when real life hits it leaves them with a lie to undo
But I saw you even though it ceased I just can't let it be true
Nothing personal but you deny that we are both foes
In battle fought with intellect you can't deny I won't lose
And this certainty it scares you to the core you recluse
Like a coward you back out acting as if nothing ensued
But we both know your true face lacks a backbone to stand it
And that something is why I prevail locking door sealing in madness
Coping mechanism feeds demons that just hand over rope
Slithered navigating life upon fissure ridden slippery slope
Had it coming you just didn't know it came with account
Now you're seeing and believing left without not a doubt

Romantic Reflections
Gone now are those halcyon days,
Days we spent by sunny shore.
You are gone now and in my haze,
Reflections make me miss you more.
I hear a song you used to hum;
Words burning bright in memory
Lead to tear drops that softly come
As cloudy skies let raindrops flee.
Each week the roses you would bring
Endeared such joy within my heart.
Love you professed meant everything,
A love from which we'll never part.
"Tears are like the quiet drift
Of petals from some magic rose
And grief yet flows from the rift
Of unremembered skies and snows"
In winter of my life I know
I live alone in our abode,
Yet my romantic feelings grow
In all the love our seeds have sowed.

When I stole a ball
from the corner store
Who are you
A voice stirred from within
When I told my best friend
a bold-faced lie
Who are you
A voice tugged from within
As I raised a hand
to strike my child
Who are you
A voice cried from within
As my good wife let me know
she'd reached the end of her rope
That voice lay stock still
~ I'd not done God's will

Solitude...
Like an old sad song...
Loneliness....
Just a day prolonged...
Desolation...
Like an empty sky...
Dejection...
Like a bold-faced lie...
Despondency...
All your hopes dashed...
Disillusionment...
Alone...
And unabashed...

A Shakespearean air fills the night. The less caring of the soft love climbs the stairs to greet the angels above. Believing in acute sensation derived from her rained down love. A self-made beauty sets passionate roses around the lonely. Only to receive sharp gazes and cursed to constantly think of. Her agile walk comes straight for me only.
Who is this centerfold from the night’s sky? If I were to have told you how she looked you would say it was a bold faced lie. This was a 10 who has made many men cry. Secrets are made from her sweat breeze. Mesmerized by her essence that gives of a never ending blessing. This must be my love who has my heart locked in a freeze. This can never cease I ask myself please.
Weeks pass by as every other women’s face seems to resemble her grace. If you could only give way to her touch, her taste. You would believe everything before was a waste. She will put any man’s heart off to the races. A guardian of all that is lovely faces. Miss Benet Miss Benet full of sun ray the Gods must have made you with a beautiful bouquet. She shines down upon me, as I start to pray! Let this beauty stay as she is full of worldly pleasures each and every day.

He chokes on chunks of ice cold fright
Mind shut, chest tight
He's afraid of the dark
And black owns the night
A hero by day
He proudly maneuvers his masculine ways
Tall, bold, powerful, strong
Her source of desire
She longs for his might
But black owns the night
Where fear is a giant
And truth is a tyrant
No one to impress here
No woman in sight
Solitude
Engulfed in the terror of his own fear
Surrounded by silence and sheer desperation
Wrapped up in blackness, no room for pretenses
This bold-faced hero
He hides a secret that no pride could bare
Mind shut, chest tight
He's afraid of the dark
And black owns the night

Eyes turned black from deceit
While window shards lay scattered at my feet
Which choice to choose
My conscience is beginning to lose
Saying to me don't make the same mistake
It takes more than this to make you break
Emptied spirits
dry to the bone
So uncomforting
has become this feeling of being alone
Professing the darkest deed
The hunger, the want, the Need.
I've taken so much, gave so little
Stood strong until I grew brittle
Weak and becoming nothing but waste
Secrets that are only bland in taste
Filtered through pungency and greed
We give so little, so that we begin to feed
on the nearest soul
Only to gain little or no control
Bold faced deceit
and broken glass lays before my feet
to take or pass away
I'll leave that choice for another day
To give in to the want and the need
And watch myself bleed
