Choose

Eyes turned black from deceit
While window shards lay scattered at my feet
Which choice to choose
My conscience is beginning to lose
Saying to me don't make the same mistake
It takes more than this to make you break

Emptied spirits
dry to the bone
So uncomforting
has become this feeling of being alone

Professing the darkest deed
The hunger, the want, the Need.
I've taken so much, gave so little
Stood strong until I grew brittle
Weak and becoming nothing but waste
Secrets that are only bland in taste

Filtered through pungency and greed
We give so little, so that we begin to feed
on the nearest soul
Only to gain little or no control

Bold faced deceit
and broken glass lays before my feet
to take or pass away
I'll leave that choice for another day
To give in to the want and the need
And watch myself bleed
