Pride's Darkest Fear
He chokes on chunks of ice cold fright
Mind shut, chest tight
He's afraid of the dark
And black owns the night
A hero by day
He proudly maneuvers his masculine ways
Tall, bold, powerful, strong
Her source of desire
She longs for his might
But black owns the night
Where fear is a giant
And truth is a tyrant
No one to impress here
No woman in sight
Solitude
Engulfed in the terror of his own fear
Surrounded by silence and sheer desperation
Wrapped up in blackness, no room for pretenses
This bold-faced hero
He hides a secret that no pride could bare
Mind shut, chest tight
He's afraid of the dark
And black owns the night
