Quote:"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin". Mother Teresa

Long awaited birtday arrives,
Best wishes, cakes and flowers from social media thrives,
I feel haapy, did not know I had so many friends,
Wish I could smell the flowers and taste a piece from the cakes.

The joy of real birtday touches my heart,
When someone sings a birtrhday wish from heart,
When I try to blow a single candle whole heartedly,
Wish I had some real people nearby for the party.

Then I think, why bother, this is your birthday,
Pick up some roses, eat some cake, enjoy your day,
Play some joyous romantic music whole day.
Carpe Diem, it is your day.

Happy Birthday

In you, my love, a light so brightly gleams
Being with you is like a sweet, enchanting dream
With every beat, my heart for you, screams
For in your love, life's rich and vibrant stream

Your smile, a gem, that brightens up my days
In your embrace, I find my truest home
In all your unique, mesmerizing ways
You've filled my world with love, as vast as Rome

Upon this day, your birth, I sing with glee
Your presence in my life, a gift so rare
My love for you, like waves upon the sea
Unending, strong, beyond compare, I swear

In every moment, by your side, I'm blessed
With you, my love, I've found a paradise
In your warm gaze, I'm utterly caressed
Forevermore, with you, I'll roll the dice

You ask me what I'd like to do
On this, my special day?
Well I'll tell you but only if you'll come with me
Just you and I, okay?

First, let's hit a bookstore
No, not one that's brand new
But one that has old worn out books
The kind with years accrued

Then let's go museuming
If that's even a word
To see all the exhibits
Their stories speak unheard

And then let's find old buildings
We'll try to get inside
And wonder who once lived there
And make up tales wide eyed

And finally hit my favorite store
To get drunken goat cheese
We'll take it home and eat it slow
Converse for hours with ease

So yes, it is my special day
And that's what I'd want to DO
But all I'd want for a present
Is to spend this day with you

Premium MemberBirthday Presence

Ninety minutes of pure bliss
Sitting next to you there
Wanted once to give a kiss
Fingers twirling my hair
But it was still enough for me
Just being in your presence
To watch you as my heart inside
Burst with effervescence

I had wanted to celebrate Andrea Dietrich’s special birthday with a tribute poem. She celebrated reaching that age of retirement many long for. At the time I was dealing with the loss of my son and the hospitalization of my stepson who was gravely ill and her birthday, September 5th, passed me by. Now that I am in a much better place I wrote this sonnet to give her a belated birthday gift. We have been friends for over twenty years. We met through our love of poetry.
Happy Belated Birthday dear Andrea.

Andrea Sonneteer

Poetess, your light shines brighter each year.
You teach your students with a stellar touch
With pride in your profession it is clear.
In their minds you instill and inspire much.

As an editor and author you give
Generously of your wisdom and time,
Sharing your knowledge in ways that you live.
Your gourmet delights you share are sublime.

Your love of traveling always shines through
Exquisite imagery, your creations
Are romantic and dreamy it is true,
Your poetry exceeds expectations.

This humble sonnet I’ve written for you
To wish you the best of birthdays come true.

Premium MemberAloha May I Have Another One

Another year says good bye
Greeting the next when it arrives
Saying hello and hi
Time to give me a try
Life adventure awaits
Go enjoy that husband and wife date
Bring on the new
Where there is so much to do
Only have 365 more
Get started and open the door
Living on the peaceful island
Having the Irish name O'Brien
Receiving flowerily leis that are Hawaiian
Aloha birthday wish
During the romantic dish
Proclaiming to love a Coast Guard
Protecting the state that is the 50th star

All the best Happy Birthday Jana

Love always

Sweet Things

Aunt Candy was the candy lady and her name fit just fine.
She made mountains of chocolates, every kind.
Whip whistles that popped, crunchy things that dropped,
In your mouth, from a spoon, you sang a tune.

White chocolate, like snow.
Out-lining the holidays with winter fun.
Dark chocolate, mysterious and romantic,
only for the older crowd,
the daring “do’s”, the lovers of life.
Milk so sweet, and fun to eat.
Shaped… and draped… on a cake…

Foolish children eat and eat, they can not see their feet.
Smiles on their faces that make you laugh.

My memories must be strong, as now she is…gone.
It is up to me to carry on.
A bag of chocolate and a melting pot,
that is a good beginning…
to hit the spot.

Internal Equinox

Days grow dark
And seasons shorter
But as life cycles on,
We must hold on longer..

I've been to every point of the compass
Yet my mind is still a ruckus
Until I realized that inside, lies a love that is
If not of another's then one of my own bliss

Found out the hard way,..
inside my temple is my treasure cove
Even if it slumbers alone without a dragon to guard my gold
It still floats in my mind and wonders my dreams
 as it roams

Waiting on love seems useless when I can love myself
A selfish vendetta it sounds, until one comes along that proves themselves
Inside I speak from perspective as inside there is no one else
Only fragments of the one one who gifted me with the ability
To put useless thoughts on a self
As outside I love and try to catch my breath
Until a real romantic endeavor becomes actually good for own health.

Assesment On June 6, 2019

"ASSESMENT ON JUNE 6, 2019."

I called the starfish
on her birthday
but I was ignored.
I texted her
good morning and
I got a reply:
"STOP TEXTING MY
WIFE!"
I texted her
good morning and
I was ignored.
I texted her
good morning and
she replied with
the same.
yesterday, I was
in L.A. while
she was that
final banana the
monkeys fought for.
yesterday she told
me no for
the first time
in three years.
she loves every
monkey available.
I got to work and was
bought food
and given a drink.
tonight I shower
with a great body.
great **** and an ass
that would make the
gods jealous of me.
the odds were
stacked against me
but like my
mentor said, "we
must laugh at
the odds."
things will always
work out in
the end.
excuse me while
I laugh
hysterically.

Valentine's Wedding

A beautiful wedding was had by our youngest son Erik and his beautiful wife,Lisette.
They got married in the beautiful and tropical Costa Rica.

A beautiful beach wedding guested, all his relatives were present that could come,
The handsome groom with Elvis black hair wore a suit of white with a Hawaiin Lei.

His bride had long hair and wore an exquisite dress of white and looked very beautiful, wore a Lei.
They sent us some beautiful pictures of their wedding.

They married on Valentine's Day so that we could always remember their wedding each year.

I gave our son Erik,a guitar for his birthday, that he could become a performer.
We will always remember this special wedding.

He would serenade his wife and write poems for her,
They had a very romantic friendship and they grew up together and fell in love.

Society is living their dream I say,
I will always remember this son and his lovely wife.

I think when he used to come and visit his mother Gwen,
He brought me a Poinsetta at Christmas which is very thoughtful.

Birthday 22

Please God hear this prayer of mine.
For it has been the longest one longest of times
I know your listening, like you did the other times before
Hear me knocking on your front door..
Where is my wife i so longed for?
To blossom with..?
And grow old until we fall down the floor
Yes her! The one i can share my story with
And she would keep me in her heart, stored
Trails and harships id welcome gladly,
Just give me a sign shes the one
A huge one i cant possibly miss or ignore
Please Father show me another glimpse of the future
In a poetic and beautiful way
One thats always lovely when it stays
Who is she?
 My Lord..
Because Il accept her as me until im dead
And meet eternity
Please give me a response
Because the thought linger and haunts..
My hopeless romantic heart
doesnt want to take anymore shots
And this passion in me is burning red hot
Please hear me and remember me..
Please Father?
At least for my birthday ??

Premium MemberYour Birthday

Your birthday, my dear, is more than another year
Marked and filed, a calendar passing, hours mild
Of clasped hands, secret kisses, tickling and
teasing and mocking my tiny sneezing
Your T-shirts and socks and combs I've been stealing

Through, also, the chasm of winter's distance
Through terminations and tight budgets and loose change
Through open arguments and closed doors
Through the torture of twisting back spasms
Through vacant sleep, when tunnel thoughts close in
Through the first anniversary of the loss of your brother

I am blessed for it all, the moods and the worry
Enrich and color the walls of my heart
The sterile white antiseptic years before you
Was someone else's life
So - this day is also the birth
Of your wife.
