I see life as a book and each day another page,
and the farther we read we become quite sage.
If dinner could be on us and I write you a poem,
your Birthday this year wouldn’t be so norm.
We pray your day is painless and also carefree,
and especially today you find joy and glee.
So from two old “Okies” to our “Bestie” we send,
Happy Birthday Shirlene, our fabulous friend.

The shiny box tempted her the most!
A turquoise ribbon just glowing!
It was from her best friend and the host.
Their true, long friendship showing.
Truly, no gift was needed.
She picked up her box with glee!
Their years together, appreciated and compassion, to the nth degree
The box was light , ribbon glowing like a peacock feather!
Opening it made her breathless!
Both had eyes upon each other.
with tears , appreciating true character!
Inside the box, she discovered naught
but tissued rainbow paper .
Representing decades of love and
truthfulness.

chambers.
The splendid cake of gleefulness, filled the room with the joy of openness!
