Rife are grievous echoes lamenting worldwide
From widespread disgust clamoring weary sigh,
Perturbed in lonesomeness, bawling in dark,
Clasped beneath shroud of tenebrous clouds,
Rendering world aghast in grip of distraught.

Battlefield is raging, tearing apart humanity,
Women and children are dying of atrocities
From bombs and missiles fired indiscriminately
Destroying buildings, annihilating normalcy,
As lives scatter, fleeing death and uncertainty.

Fueled by anger, pent-up distress is brewing,
Helplessness is stirring, caught in pandemic,
Lives once dynamic are static, unengaging;
Minds are bewildered, hearts are agitating,
Feelings, once solemn, have now turned eerie.

Oceans are heating, hurricanes are churning,
The Alps are melting, yet the rivers are drying,
Cities are flooding, neighborhoods are drowning,
In uncontrolled infernos forests are burning,
Unfathomable climate is plaguing farm yields.

Gales stirring extremes roil storms of suffering,
Lava churning desperation is boiling, bubbling,
Ready to erupt violently spewing angst volcanic,
Challenging fate openly, tired of venting silently,
Foretelling of warning: a blow-up is simmering.

Premium Member I Dreamed a Dream

You wrote the song that enchanted lyrics
Composing avid tone to melody of music
Attuning cleverly to tenor of fantasies
Sending sensual hints to passionate wishes,

As vibrant stars ceded to darker motifs.

Infantile was my dream in night's reverie
Cuddling arms of love, hugging intently
Delighting in whispers of zealous winds
Wooed by romance of affectionate feelings,

Just before the misty sky began drizzling.

It was really you, who trampled my sleep
Just when I approached beholding your kiss.
Dismantling motives of amorous destiny
You disavowed with vigor allures of affinity,

Flashing a warning, a storm was brewing.

Rejecting my overture, you left the scene.
Your seduction was real, so was your love--
Indelible prologue to tomorrow's memory,
Yet truly ephemeral, as dreams tend to be.

The dream I dreamed never belonged to me.

Premium Member Together We Are Strong

How time has flown, vaporized, thrust us to the twilight of our life
Looking back we’ve pursued divergent paths and viewpoints
Years of toiling accrued debilitating arthritis in your aching joints
Abusing your weary bones, no concern of future or even afterlife

How sudden our journey can take a turn that no one can foresee
Yet our paths forever intertwine for in our veins flows brethren blood
Stumbling blocks and hardships taking you at times through the mud
Turn fragile life to shambles and bring without warning a catastrophe

Investing naught but good deeds through a lifetime with a heart that’s pure
Generous to a fault, target for exploitation, magnet to many a false friend
One disappointment after another in spite of you being many’s godsend
No pension slush fund, and now a major stroke, but with me please feel secure

I always loved to sing the phrase ‘you’re not heavy you’re my brother',
Don’t give in to despair, together we can be strong like no other.

Premium Member Banshee

The banshee wails within the gale
and unease weaves its wary tale
across fair Eire’s inland moor,
a Lord will die by ancient lore.
The banshee wails.

Her hair is torn, her face so pale,
her gown a tatter shrouded veil,
bringing only dark and horror.
The banshee wails.

'Tis but a warning, a mournful hale
a piercing sigh, the end's exhale
soulful sound, a mother’s clamor,
cutting through the shields of armor
though death, the sound, will not delay.
The banshee wails.

Quickened Pace
~~~~~~~~~~~
In the day rapidly approaching
a rapture of which there shall be no more…
of parasitic encroaching
the minds of men
bent on sin…
“Love wins!”
I have read
from beginning to end
the books of many men’s sins
Their concepts galore, human explore
inept are many books of madness
cause of lives of much sadness
Ah… one book of precept
no variance,… of love kept
the Master recipe…
through it’s crystal truth I see
myself in the mirror…
mirrored Chrystal looking back at me
Ah… throne of grace
I see… I am quickened by quickened pace
I look into a familiar amazing face
the Chrystal truth of amazing grace
I see another face…
bought of amazing grace.
Ah….Loves grace intervene…
by and by one shall wean
of Mothers milk
one shall complete
by grace, amazing feat
Meanwhile…
Love’s dear child
in love meek and mild
a serpent spent and beat
 shall soon retreat
as grace absorbs life heat
One of the Best Days of My Life
Before the darkside of my fathers drinking began to loom in the corners of my life                       I remember being lifted onto a barstool at his favorite watering hole in Elmira N.Y.                                            Suddenly a crowd of people had gathered around us                                                                        Then without warning a woman behind the bar handed me a blond Labradore puppy           My father cought the puppy and me in mind air as we fell backwards                                       The entire crowd roared with laughter and that was one of the best days of my life                        Sometimes you forget memories like that when things get bad                                                      And the people you love begin to let you down one time to ofton                                                    Years later I Learned the woman in the bar and my father were more than friends                          And my mothers crazy out bursts were not so crazy after all                                                                              Still you have to forgive or lose your mind asking yourself why                                                        Because most people will tell you"If I knew why I did it I probably wouldn't have done it                     I know it's little concliation but untile we move into a realm of perfection                                       We need to save ourselves by forgiving everyone else
I was a bird in a flock, flying high, enjoying the views, blending seamlessly into the wave of feathered freedom that I called family and friends. Without warning, a bullet passed through my wing, grounding me, separating me, and making me ashamed that, though I still looked like a bird, I could no longer soar at will. The other birds circled 'round when at first I tumbled from the sky, but the bullet had passed through, and none could see and therefore understand the pain and damage left behind. So they did what they do best: flew away. And I was left alone, walking the same small path, seeing the fatiguingly familiar sights, trapped in a cage without bars. I know I will never soar again in this world, which is why I have hope and faith that flies beyond the clouds.
The Valley of the Shadow of Death
I could feel the things that surrounded me before I could see them.
      Things that laid and awaited me in the shadows.
        They laid there in silence pulling and tugging me trying to beat and get me down.
           I was tested...
               They allured me to them with all the glitters of life but... without striff
                  Then I started to see the things that was once in the meadows appear in the shadows.
                       Love turned into hate
                          Joy turned into pain
       Destroying everything I thought would be gained.
            Then without warning a hand appeared and a soft voice followed and said have no fear you have no arrears and delivered me into the morning.
              At that moment I was shown I never was alone.
                                                                                        Dedicated to my Mother
                                                                                           who also titled this
No Reflection
She slithers with niceties, fangs intact
Stealing your gaze with her manipulative act.
Can’t see her reflection, for there is none, egad!
You search for her heart but there’s none to be had
Does she think we don’t see her behind her wall
Waiting in lurk for a poor soul to fall
“Come my pretty” while casting her curse
She shrieks without warning a venomous verse
who created this monster void of a soul
not seeing pain in the hearts that she stole.
rival of angels, friends with the troll
hideous features, her looks on parole
am I being judgemental in making this claim
or am I just truthful with no one to blame.
She says "oh i'm sorry did I hurt you my dear"?
Her spiteful rhymes tell me, her aim was quite clear.
So slither on elsewhere to some other place
For I have no room for incompetent grace.
Premium Member My Quiet Place To Ponder
Barn lights brighten the early morn,
Signaling the start of my day,
Mornings of madness followed by serene
views of a meandering river where
carp jump and blue herons fish.
Majestic ash line the river’s edge,
Birds flit from my porch to trees,
Grabbing food from the feeders.
Leaves curl warning a storm is imminent
Take shelter, a rainy day to ponder.
**************************************
Silent mornings when all at work,
My dog sits at my side,
Calm soothes my soul, my mind awakes,
Poet cannot be denied.
Chair by the window with laptop,
Looking at the river,
Words, ideas float in my mind,
Masterpiece- I shiver.
Premium Member Tohoku -- When Worlds Have Altered
On an early spring day, washed brilliant with clover
In the land of the sun, and sweet cherry blossom
A tremble, a rumble, that rattled the earth
Cracking open the spring day, like the devil's own plaything
Plates of dispute, on the edge of destruction
Beneath the sea’s surface…anger's wrath lies in waiting…
It came with no warning, …a mighty surge of horror
A tower of strength, to this tiny island flower
The harsh call of nature, came boldly from the shore
Relentless, the shaking, battering to the core
And altered the earth with a shattering shrill
Spilling despair, in a pillage of flurry
Killing the helpless,     yet… leaving the courage
O’ land, of gentle people, wearing dignity’s expression
Those from afar, watched on with compassion
We gasped, then we cried, yet are awed with impressions
How hands helping hands, and courage ensued
Kind hearts, claimed the bruised, and calmed the confused
You banded together…helping each another,
Balance of elders, will hold you forever..
Grace under fire…. with honor we brand you
You raise up the spirit with hands of the valiant
Respect you have earned and honor you wear
The sun keeps on rising…..and will shine ever more
Pillow Talk
Just laying here with thoughts on my mind that seems to just drift away.  Sleep never came quick if it came at all. Soft cushion pillow, verbal expressions from lips, of endless thoughts on Love, Pain, and broken dreams.  Our lips, from hers to mine, that can only be described as a heart to heart discussion. Exchanged words sharing the understanding of life and what comes to mind came through and, body language just told it all. A language spoken over words as music played.  A future soundtrack with a soft play list that played on its own timing.  Soft majestic rhyming.  Emotional Words that formed sentences into paragraphs and time just doesn’t matter, just the time to express feelings.  Mysteries about what we are going through open some light on our opinions about how life should be.  Morning came fast and the light shown through the blinds gave clear warning a new day started, to help us forget about yesterday.  Thanks for the Pillow Talk.
Dearth
He squats the entire day,
extending his empty cup.
Cold sweat oozing from the pores
of his slack bristly white face,
yet he crouched spiritless,
hoping for kindness to tumble.
Desire split his dry lips,
but he stoops without a murmur,
parting the busy shoppers,
roaming up and down the Plaza.
He makes rhythm with his cup,
a somber rhythm that plunges into the ground.
People pass by in a rush and ignore his plea.
Without warning a weight, falls upon his head,
and he collapses to the ground.
His weary eyelids stop throbbing,
the sweat drys up ,
and mercy plunges desperately
into his cup, but poverty stares.
Premium Member Sea Storm
Ocean waves crash along the shore
Dark clouds warning, a storm in store
Gulls soar searching for washed up food
As crabs seek cover with their brood
Sandpipers nesting in the brush
As waves rise and crash with a gush
A beacon light illuminates
Warning as the storm dominates
