Pruning

To awake the spiritual eyes in me,
I must die to myself, though unnatural it be.
Wake up soul, and see with new eyes,
how something lives why'll something dies.

Prune now my heart from bitter thorns.
Blow the trumpet, sound the horns!
Death to my will, my heart I give,
to the one who died so that I might live.

Premium Member Sonnet of Worship

I worship you for the plan made for me
From the beginning you knew the tree
The sun, moon, stars nestled at height just right
An atmosphere that surrounds with good light

Through the centuries you knew when to come
To redeem humanity and touch man some
Bringing hope to a lost and dying world
With your teachings, blood, sweat, tears earth did swirl

The guider, comforter, holder of my heart
Omniscience, all knowledge from the very start
Capturing my heart with all that you made
Creating it from your words needed no spade

Exalt my redeemer, friend, comforter
Valentine, my heart is an admirer

Lignum Vitae Love

In purple majesty now
The lignum vitae bloom
Across the arid plains
Moths and birds swim
Upon its rare perfume
And tourists stare
Upon the short and stocky tree
With rugged heart and strong roots
That suckle water from a droughted land
They look but do not understand
It is the symbol of the man.

My people up through rough times
Come laughing each new dawn
The wind blows them ragged
But never a sigh, they just go on
Without care for the world's rich things
Each little blessing is enough
To make the rugged heart sing
And as this tree, the national flower
Bloom beauty out of arid dust
My people bring productivity
From barren times
With only God to trust.

We are a model of the lignum vitae
A sustained strength
A permanent sanctuary of beauty
A happiness that never relents
Yet delicate in human caring
As each purple pannicle of flower
A Lignum vitae love
Drawing each separate goal into one:
O Jamaica, bloom forever.

My Love, -Name-

Your skin glows like warm, silky milk chocolate,
blossoms better than a rose in the purest hope of spring.
My yearning heart rises to your comforting voice
and leaps like a kitten at the whisper of your name, -name-.

The evening ascends in on a great Blue Jay wing.
I am calmed by your presence that I carry into
the twilight of moonbeams and us holding each other hand-in-hand.

I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears of
sadness, happiness, and joy that are mixed together.
As my mind wanders to my bank of memories, I remember
the times you were wild with passion.

In the hushed, I listen for the last chirp of the spring.
My heated heart leaps to my chest.

I wait in the crystal moonlight for you to show me your
secret place you say has beauty beyond imagination,
so that we may jump as one, heart to heart, in search of the
glorious times and the spiritual tree of love.

*Dedicated to the one with whom I fell inlove with...may you be blessed each day

Revival

Repel
The sounds of hate
Fate, voices of fury
That grip the heart in an icy
Embrace.

Repeat
The sounds of love
Words, songs and special gifts
That lift the heart upon the wings
Of doves.

Return
The sounds of joy
With a voice filled with songs
That seize the heart, no longer wronged
Royal.

Rejoice
With sounds of cheers
For here comes the new sun
And all hearts can be lifted up
In peace.

Darling(The Worst Is Over)

This cold air fills my lungs.
I can see it in your eyes.
You're so fragile and weak.
Your hollow chest holds empty nothings.
You won't even fight.
Put the lies to rest.
Darling open those precious eyes.
When will you realize that I'll never leave your side.
Your heart has been broken so many times.
Your eyes like diamonds have cried so many tears.
I won't give up on you.
Darkness has surrounded your mind.
Your torn at the seams.
Life is nothing more than a bad dream to you.
If you give me one last fighting chance, I'll pull you through.
Powerless.
Blood stains your dress.
Put down your scissors.
You must learn the word forgiveness.
Open up inside.
If you give me this chance, I'll open your eyes to a new life.
I'll breathe hope into your lungs.
I know what you have been through.
Just trust me.
I won't hurt you.
If you're gonna believe in something, darling believe in me.
When everyone has left you here, look who is still standing beside you for an eternity.
You'll make it out.
Your heart has graced your sleeve.
Follow your heart and no longer grieve.
I've meant every word I've said from the start.
That'll never change.
I'll hold your hand through this all.
Can't you see the words I've engraved on this wall.
I love you.

Angel of Integrity Part Two

Dear God,
She arrived with tears in her eyes.
Knees locked.
I whispered, "Leave your past at the door."
I dried your tears with my thumbs.
I took a breath deep into my lungs.
I felt my heart press up against my ribs.
I felt your soul brush up against my lips.
My angel of integrity!
With every step that you take with me,
I promise you sincerity.
Your soul has been battered.
Your heart turned into a cold cadaver.
You graze your fingers in between mine,
feel the warmth of my skin as it penetrates through your blood stream.
You are my angel of integrity!
Breathing life into the lifeless.
Like a match, we lock eyes, set fire, and ignite this.
Let it burn.
Watch as our whole world turns.
I will always meet you with grace and the simplest sincerity.

Healing Begins

I find myself sprawled on the floor
Frantically trying to gather the pieces
My heart has been shattered
Jagged, sharp, crimson colored shards
I lay wounded, unaware of my surrounding
The surface is hard and cold, a slab of granite
A crowd of onlookers, strangers stop to stare
They gasp in disbelief at the spectacle
I have a front row seat, standing room only
The sunlight has pierced my soul, I lay exposed
Heartbroken, abandoned, dignity is out the window
I'm holding a bloody big chunk of my heart
I tell myself, breathe in, breath out
I close my eyes, so that I may see with clarity
With eyes closed, the view is breathtaking
Healed, healthy, vibrant and alive
Still with my eyes closed, wide open, I see the crowd
They begin to applaud, then quickly disperse
I become the lone witness as my heart heals itself
As the darkness explodes into sunlight, triumph
Delete sadness. Insert hope.
I hear someone in the crowd singing my song

Thank You

In a little corner of my heart I hold
Sounds and sights that I behold
Stories and tales I have never told
Fond memories I will have when I grow old

In my memories I see a face
So beautiful and charming, so full of grace
A face that changed my life in its entirety
A face I may never ever see

My memories are of an autumn glow
Of a palace, a garden, where time tends to slow
Where a church bell tolled and in prayer I knelt
Where the loving touch of an angel I felt

I was tired and dreary and full of sorrow
I had nothing to give, no love to borrow
My heart ached as punishment of my sin
My life had ended before it could begin

The angel dared me to dream anew
To mend my life’s torn muscles and sinew
To find love and share it with one and all
Not to lose heart and stand up if I fall

Since then I have learnt to live
Learnt to be happy and not to grieve
Learnt that a day always follows the night
Learnt that survive, I just might

My thoughts always go back to you
Oh Angel! What would I be without you?
All my happiness is a tribute to you
So let me just say, Thank you

Premium Member Just a Soul

You know it feels funny coming out of a box
Shackled by chains behind a thousand locks

To a wide open world that seems like a dream
Not one solitary part of my life is now obscene

I have friends I talk to that live all over the world
Across thousands of miles our souls have been twirled

They have twirled together in a wonderful dance
Which binds the heart in a deep, spiritual romance

Each of us live together yet we live so far apart
You can’t measure distance, speaking of the heart

An inch is a light-year somewhere out in space
I reckon someday we will all find our place

You know heaven is what I pray that place will be
It’s very hard to imagine all the people we will see

A place where all things will be put forever a side
You can just sign me up boys I’ll go for the ride

Death is just freedom from all that we know
I wonder what it will be like, just being a soul

I just want to say it saddens my heart to go from
one of our top community builders for over two
years to barely being able to sit long enough to
post a single poem and make very few comments.
I have actually reached the point where I'm starting
to feel like Job who faced one test after another.
This poem is how I feel about us, we are more
than friends we are a poetic family and one day
our souls will be set free. Always remember every
trial is but a doorway to a blessing. One day our
souls will meet and I will be proud of the friends
I have chosen. God Bless you all, mj

Who Will Cry/The Bleeding Heart

my heart cries out in agony and pain
bleeding for two men whose losses were in vain
praying for them to gain their sense of normalcy
to get back to where they used to be

please dear God help them to mend
so they can be cleansed and whole again
let them no loose the part of them
that makes them who they are
because of extenuating circumstances
of their intergrity thus far

sometimes things are not what they seem
walking around helpless in a life full of dreams
like poison from their system free them please
help them to stay humble and get down on their knees

in life when they are in their darkest hour
restore to them strength with your higher power
so who will cry for these two men
I'll cry for them father for their heart and spirit to mend

so I will cry again and again
and pray that these two find their strength again

AMEN!

Grown, Sewn, Owned

Hello my love, it's dawn's first light
Time to end this time called night
I wish I may, I wish I might,
I did...Hold my love asleep so tight

Caring about nothing, having no fear
Just being together with those I hold dear
Silent shadows disappear with the thought of them
Bringing remorse and sad feelings, to a victorious end

Hopes are high, dreams are big
Heart is pumping like an oil rig
Closing in near, near so to touch
Never had ambition endorse thought so much

Raising the flag of victory, over this barren heart
It's not easy to mend it, after being broken and torn apart
But this heart has found its tailor, who has sewn it back to one
And now, when this heart sleeps, it stays loved for millenniums

This heart has grown,
This heart has been sewn,
This heart is now owned,
This heart.....may be happier than it's ever known

Angel of Integrity

A whisper in the wind.
Ears deafened.
Failure to listen.
Rain falling from the sky.
Tears from the angels.
Heartbroken cries.
I met you in the darkness.
Standing in silence.
We were invisible to the light.
I could see the hopelessness in your eyes.
Your screams echoed in my dreams.
It's time for you to stand up and fight.
You have felt like you had nothing left.
Trust had faded from your depths.
I can promise you something more than companionship.
We can make it.
If you just try.
Breathing life into battered lungs.
Giving your heart deliverance.
What you've given me is more than words can say.
I don't know if I'll ever be able to thank you properly.
Life as we once knew it is dead!
This meeting place isn't the end.
Just a place of middle ground.
It's time to change the courses of your life.
Bring your heart to the table.
I will restore what it has desired.
We will no longer forsake what has been placed at our feet.
This is living.
Two hearts beating.
Four lungs breathing.
Your innocence no longer betrayed.
You're looking truth directly in the face.
Once alone.
Once a broken fragment of yourself.
Brought into your life to be a savior of suffering.
This is what it feels like to mean something.
Together we'll shine brighter than a million blazing stars.
Graceful emotion.
We have saved one another from the darkness.
I can see you, can you feel me?
You are my angel of integrity.

Premium Member Look Into Self

(Sonnetina Rispetto)

You must return to the very start
Just look into your mind and heart
And so you can be born again
Heed my words for I do not lie

To be born again old must die
Free from all the pain and the sin
You must return to the very start
Just look into your mind and heart

For,if I may be really bold
The new is born out of the old
And so you can be born again
Free from all the pain and the sin

You must return to the very start
Just look into your mind and heart
