Best Unselfishness Poems

Premium Member -Treasure

In this fast paced world of ours
I still enjoy lifes simple pleasures
It’s the uncomplicated joys
That I truly value and treasure

I treasure the joy of nature
Simplistic, raw, complete
The joy of family and friends
Loves connections pure and sweet

I treasure the joy of a beloved pet
A four legged member of the family
The unconditional love they possess
Has no end in it’s entirety

I treasure the joy of home
Shelter safe and secure
Precious blessings and comforts inside
Where happiness is assured

I treasure the joy of freedom
Fortunate to safely roam
In a country that I love
A country I call home

I treasure human Kindness
One of give and share
Of unselfishness and acceptance
Mankind simply being aware

No desire for material riches
Or the need to be entertained
I treasure lives special moments
Where lasting memories remain

I treasure affection and humour
Laughter is a true pleasure
In this fast paced world of ours
I’m so blessed with glorious treasures!

Inexhaustible Love

I succumb to love’s demand
To be inexhaustible like desert sand
Fathomless like deep oceans
Soothing like the moonlit night

Sacred like a holy book
Unalterable like faith
Imbedded in heart like virtues
That unselfishness ignite.

My love is beyond my own self
Not counting loss and gain
My love crosses the bonds of
Religion, color and creed.

My loving thee O mankind!
Enhances my love of God.

Premium Member The Edifice of Happiness

Only when,

The edifice of happiness,

Is:

Conceived,

Designed,

Built

And

Maintained

By

Wisdom

And

Supervised by unselfishness

Could

Withstand the test of time!

Who Taught Love Only Not Hate

Oh! God
Simply free boundary…less…lovely God…………………………………………………....
Almighty Omnipresent……. every where………..unthinkable with material sense
no definition in words of any material body of any formations…..
Just who truly devote as per His deserved standard
With the strength of strength of unselfishness and egoless feeling
Blessed a tiny light out of Him
With that light who are blessed
He loves His Diamond sons much………..
Feel Jesus…. Adi Shankaracharya, Sai Baba, Rama Krishna…..Shankardev....Madhabdev....Hazrat Mohammad…
of the Humanly World who taught love only not hate

Premium Member Guess What Phyllis, I Tagged You

After reading your comment to Sharon so true
I decided oh yes, I must tag Phyllis to

”Tag game” is about people sharing their heart
It would sure be special if you shared your part

It seems sometimes we just run out of time
Remember when a phone call cost a dime

So did a bottle of soda as a matter of fact
Remember the machines when they slid on a track

Well hopefully not because these words are true
Remembering those things means you’ve seen life to

So many changes between those times and now
Now days they have lasers that operate the plow

With me it all changed way faster than most
Years in day is the story of a convict ghost

But that is the past and praise God I am free
Exercising my right to tag Phyllis you see

Every game should have a Mentor Raul is his name
He was tagging us all without knowing of the game

I’m tagging Phyllis and giving honor to Raul
For without a doubt he is a model for us all

------------------------------------------------------
You know a while back the "Tag" game was a part
of our site. This was a very special part of our site
and Raul with his unselfishness writing Poem's to
members on our site reminded me of this and to be
honest I tried hard to ignore the impulse. So in Honor
of "Our Mentor" lets bring that special part of our Soup
Back, spend our time writing of love instead of some knack.

Premium Member Radiance of Character

within me dwells my essence, my soul, my breath it is my inner self untainted and uncorrupt, my identify breathed into me at birth and I am responsible for its safe journey in this life so I will learn fearlessness, steadfastness, truthfulness, unselfishness, gentleness, and cleanliness of body and mind
this is my oath and promise to the Lord above and I will carry purity in my heart, only tranquility will be spoken from my lips and only serenity will dwell within me always, and I will have no wrath, or find fault in others . . .

I will possess no greed, no hate, no conceit but be humble and silent
people will say I am calm, forgiving, modest, and show great restraint, I will find the beauty in everything ... I will study the scriptures of my religion and follow their knowledge and I will have compassion of all of the Lord's
creatures, humans, animals, birds, fish, waters, plants, forests and will
protect them from destruction with every fiber of my being, I will be kind
and giving, generous, and helpful, I will live in harmony . . .

But, most important to me, is that at the end of this journey, it will be
said, this person possessed radiance in character . . .

Thank You For Your Sacrifice

Help given is a wonderful thing.
Giving of your time is quite suitable.
Giving your money, unselfishness showing.
Laboring to clean this world is also very noble.

Yet there is one type of person that stands out
The one that says I will go at the drop of a ball.
Not asking why or where on the commanded shout,
But, stands ready and willing to heed the call.

These are the ones that protect our freedom.
That give us a security that not many know.
They leave families not sure when they will see them.
They sign their name not knowing where they will go.

Our armed forces are the elite of humanity.
They serve not only the US but humankind.
Some giving their life, some their sanity.
All to protect the ones they leave behind.

So I say THANK YOU to the families of the graves now visited.
For the time you have given and family memories lost.
I say THANK YOU, to each veteran and those now enlisted.
For you go even though some have and will pay the ultimate cost.

What's In Your Will?

Not everyone has houses or lands, gold or silver, stocks or bonds, IRA’S or CD’S, Cars or cash, insurance policies, etc. But that does not mean we have nothing to leave behind when we depart this earth. The best things in life are still free, and there can be great qualities in our lives that are well worth the leaving. So why not make a ‘None-Material Possession Will’, and describe from A to Z what you wish to leave behind. i.e.

A ATTITUDES THAT ARE GOOD WILL OPEN DOORS
B BOLDNESS IS STRONGER THAN COWARDICE
C COURTEOUSNESS IS NOT A WEAKNESS
D DECISIVENESS IS A FOOT- FORWARD ACTION
E ENERGY IS THE SPARK THAT IGNITES THE MIND

F FAITHFULNESS BUILDS CONFIDENCE
G GOODNESS HAS NO SUBSTITUTE
H HONESTY CREATES BELIEVERS IN YOU
I INTELLIGENCE IS NOT LIMITED TO NUMBERS
J JOY IS FAR SUPERIOR TO HAPPINESS

K KINDNESS IS ITS OWN REWARD

Mothers Day Is Special

Mother’s Day Is Special

“Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; is not proud; is not conceited; does not act foolishly; is not selfish; is not easily provoked to anger; keeps no record of wrongs; takes no pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.” I Corinthians 13:4-7

Mother’s Day Is Special—
It’s a time of remembrance.
A time to thank our Mothers
With gifts or flowers of fragrance.
Our Mothers brought us life on earth
And sacrificed so many years.
They encouraged us through the tough times,
And wiped away our tears.

The unselfishness of Mothers,
And their kindness without reward,
Comes to each one of us,
Straight from our Savior and Lord.
The love of a Mother
God uses to guide each soul.
She’s our greatest teacher
When eternity’s her goal.

Without a Mother’s love,
Not a single child would survive.
She gives us courage and comfort
From the Lord that is derived.
A Mother’s love is awesome—
Such earnestness and deep devotion.
To the world an eternal secret—
A mystery of creation.

Because Mother’s Day Is Special,
We remember it with love.
Thank the good Lord for her beauty,
Provided by heaven above.
Her endless devotion and unselfishness
Endures come what may.
Let’s make all Mothers feel special
With a very Happy Mother’s Day!

Premium Member In Honor of Tom Cunningham

I heard the notification bell. Ding Dong.
Nobody mails me, this time of night,
Only Tom Cunningham.!

With his joy in a a POTD, for a fellow poet,
be it man or a woman.
His unselfishness is astounding!
To sing of another-poet’s success is abounding.

God gave me a POTD today as an Easter gift!
And Tom screen shot it to me.
He hadn’t a second thought, it came so swiftly.

I wish I were across the pond Tom!
I’d give you a well deserved great big hug.
And, a small kiss, on your mug.

Tom is an example for all poets here, to give,
not just prizes to get.
His care for all the planet does deserve a medal.

He pens poems of the real world, to impress you?
Not hardly.
For small things, this man of poetic compassion,
Will not for a second settle.

Thank you Tom!
Easter Blessings, with gratitude.

Love,

Mothers Day

Thank You Mom for Your love,
Your patience and Your wisdom.
Mother’s Day is a time to reflect
On Your life that’s been a beacon.
Thank You for your unselfishness
And forgiveness along the way.
Thank You for your faith and prayer—
Evil’s influence to allay.

It’s not easy to be a Mother,
But how would I ever know,
Until I have my own little ones,
And experience the winds that blow.
There’s so much we take for granted,
That’s just the way life goes,
Until we know what’s involved
In life’s many joys and woes.

I thank God for Mother’s Day—
A time to show my appreciation
For all your sacrifices
And life of unselfish devotion.
May Your day a happy one,
And my You find satisfaction,
That You’ve raised me to adulthood,
To give thanks for Mothers and God’s mysteries of creation.

Happy Mother's Day to all those wonderful mothers out there!

Premium Member A Little Kindness Never Hurts

As a wee lad ...
          I was indeed blessed
Two parents of unfailing kindness and noble spirit
Thoughtful and gracious, sometimes to a fault

Hence, the seeds of altruism were sown deep
And tended with care and example
Taking purchase at the core of my child's heart
     Other humanly aspects and habits

Added unto that foundation of goodwill
A loving mother but distant father
Still, even in his casual neglect
Benevolence and unselfishness were the origins of all he did

It wasn't so much words for either of them
But rather the ways they lived
And the consideration and care they gave to others
     Whether loved-one, friend or stranger

Oh, I am a very flawed creature
I have made as many mistakes and poor decisions
As most THREE other human beings
But, if nothing else, I do my best daily

To approach all interactions and conversations with others
With the similar forbearance and generous disposition
That I was raised with and taught
     And if I'm very lucky

There's perhaps a FEW people
Who have seen at least a flicker of my parents' sweet light
In these weary, shadowy, grateful eyes ...
     Of mine.

Tiny Treasure

While preparing for the yard sale…there it was…
Just as tiny as I cautiously recalled
It is your hospital bracelet…
Amongst the many papers sprawled

Momentarily, I remembered seeing your tiny toes…tiny nose…
I pictured your precious little face…
I recalled how much your angelic demeanor
and innocent charm led my thoughts to race

I often think about you still today
I wonder what lied ahead
What had become of your precious little self…
Did you have children and wed?

Forever doubting but knowing
I had made the right decision
Fully certain still today
With selfless, caring precision

I wonder if you ever thought of me…
Wondered what I was like
I wondered if you knew how much you meant to me…
Or were you purely full of spite?

Soon, I am leaving this world…
And as for me, you will never know
You will not know my true unselfishness…
Since I have no more candles left to blow

I will always treasure you…my love
I will always value the very few moments we had
I will always keep you close to my heart
So there is no reason to be sad

So please, my true prize, my little one …
All doubts, please cast aside
For my tiny little treasure …your bracelet…
Will forever be at my side

Premium Member Oh To See My Name Written In His Wounds

The son of God in human flesh
Jesus Christ incarnate was He
came here with one purpose in mind
to save mankind and set them free

This He accomplished on Calvary's tree
there Jesus the Godman was crucified
paying the price for our sins
taking our place for us He died

Ponder afresh at this unselfishness
the eternal God in mankind's place
shedding His blood in full atonement
displaying God's magnificent grace

Now look at His wounds
is your name written there?
has Jesus blood covered your sin?
by faith believing can you dare?

Oh to see my name written in His wounds
such an honour is given to those that believe
who can confess that they've been ransomed
from eternal death never again to grieve

AUTHOR NOTES: When listening to Stuart Townend's marvellous worship song 'The power of the cross', these thoughts came to me thinking on God's great love in giving His son for our sins.

Watch it on youtube if you wish.

Upon Their Broken Shoulders

Through their unselfishness
They fight for our rights
Never giving up
Enduring the darkest of nights

As they continue to fight
We angrily protest
Yet still they fight on
Never asking for rest

They struggle to live on
While we safely sit here
They die to protect us
Giving us no reason to fear

They fight out of love
For us and our country
They ask for nothing back
Fighting for us to remain free

Never do we remember
As today turns into tomorrow
What they have provided us
Only thinking of our sorrow

These guardians are our heroes
They die in their ranks
Yet never do we give them
A well-deserved thanks

Always remember the men and women
Who are known as our soldiers
For giving us a foundation
Upon their broken shoulders
