To find solace from misty tides that curve,
In low beats gently weaving their way
Along the coastline where our town rests:
This aging lake I knew as a girl
Is now draped with crumpled lily pads,
Against night’s advancing shade. I heave…

Yet, the clear music of waves endure
All trespasses from environ's care;
Chanting the legends of time's folklore
Much like a rhapsody warbling stories
Passed from one era to the next:
This water- bend filled with salt of love, death
As I listen to its undulated psalms---
Still beautiful in a wilting habitat,
Knowing my lake resides in my inner world.

Draped In a Lavender Light

I wore fear
 like a winding sheet,
 leaving behind trails
 of dead dreams

I held hope in my hands
 and weeping, it slid
 through my fingers
 evaporating to naught

I undulated to music
 praying for redemption
 within the passage,
I was left bereft, still, taciturn

but by relinquishing velleity
 into the firmament,
 and smashing my glass heart
for the loves' of my life

I've begun to believe
 in miracles again,
 I am finding the way
 that comforts my soul

A shimmering
 lavender light,
 shines with serenity
 burns out the fear
and builds a blaze of hope,
 by loving without doubt

the whips of regret
 are now unmoving
 fires have been stoked,
 this mystery now has élan

I am flesh, reborn out
and into this life, once again.

Premium Member Shantelle

Laying her head on a stone she sang with a voice undulated with joy
taking summer and me by surprise with a dolce voce all sweet n' high

like a million butterflies
giving up their sighs
I watched her in the middle of a throng close to a water fountain
"Just a little longer I can stay" she vowed to the quiet saints above
but then when her time was up she lay on the rock and sang a tad more
She reminded me of another young girl I once knew, who lived upstairs
with a Spanish mother who kept her on a leash. One day she ran away
to park Miron were the quarry boulders were high and solid . There she sang

like a million butterflies
giving up their sighs
until the sun went down and then oh what precious cost she did pay
One day she married a blacksmith called Roger Stone. He took her to
Italy and kept her behind closed doors. So jealous was he of her great
beauty and talent that he forbid her to ever leave the house. She sang
alone by a window until the wild horses came and galloped her away,

like a million butterflies
giving up their sighs

she sang, until the day she died.

Premium Member Childhood Memory

"recently scenes of early life have stolen into my mind, like breezes blown"...Quote by - Samuel Taylor Coleridge ( from his writings)

From the yonder hazy horizon, the hills blue
undulated down the emerald landscape
in rhapsodic rhythmic waves rolling in view.

Its contours carved for my hamlet its shape,
where once was cradled my endearing home,
in the bounty of beguiling nature I was agape.

The fairy flotilla of cotton clouds would roam,
making pristine celestial scene soaring high
upon the curved canvas of the cerulean dome.

With the wind whistling across the azure sky,
my childhood joy soared to a great height
with the colorful kites I loved so much to fly.

A silvery stream glided with sparkling delight,
surging with the glistening charm of liquid pearl,
flowed with the flamboyant facade so bright.

On its rippling water outside the gentle whirl,
I sailed paper boats tinged with colors of rainbow.
I saw these glide wobbling in the current’s curl.

On these to a distant fantasy land I didn’t know,
but imagined immersed within teenage dream,
my unbound mariner mind would someday go.

The boats and kites from obscurity I can’t redeem,
for with the receding ebb the sands of time flee
beyond the horizon sinking with the sunset gleam.

Those childhood moments have deserted me,
in twilight hours the child within me I still see.

Premium Member Whilst Porcelain Skins, Excitedly Grow

Where does one start when through my eyes I see
I see curvatures of she, her soul glows
Naked to bare she lies living so free
Her undulated figure in froze pose
Whilst porcelain skins, excitedly grow

She to me she climbs, snake like we're entwined
Defined, enriched and absorbed, two in dine
Our skeletal skins dance, naked now we
Undressed we're elected to be, aligned
Where does one start when through my eyes I see

Awake the Shakespeare In Me

Since boyhood I did dream
of landscapes with visions so idyllic,
and sitting under a huge pine tree
that the Campanian breeze undulated gently,
they excited me by stirring thoughts so intrinsic...
brighter than gems and stars, and 'till evening came:
the Divine and the Human blended into a harmony
which enhanced the celestial images slowly
and magnificently revealing themselves to me!

Awake the Shakespeare in me,
his intellectual ability
is lava flowing incandescently...
invading slopes with its intense heat and fiery flame
that nobody preventing it from sliding can tame;
it withholds nothing from me and writing
incessantly, I notice all, not letting
images flee memory!

I sought loneliness to contemplate creation
with its awesome sunrises and sunsets:
who could envision Heaven without faith?
I did imagine it by putting in motion a belief which any heart
would accept and be stunned by the moon's colorlessness
as those Cirrus clouds tried to hinder her hazy brilliance,
and it did shine to make me fearless...
and let me explore incredible nights of fascination!

Awake the Shakespeare in me
by gathering an audience before my stage
illuminated by the constant light of the constellations:
will my lines delight faces or cause rage?
Shout and interrupt me, if I fail to entertain you with improvised amazement;
applaud me, if I achieve what I came to do so passionately!
If the captain of a stranded ship challenges fierce oceans,
then I might as well incite profound emotions and lure you into wonderment!

*^* take the vivacious steps of my world's elated lilt *^*

Burning effulgent golden daystar - mirrored, reflected
Drawing up the facsimile of faith and luminescence
Trees oscillate and dance together with the rhythmic gust of breeze
Air - blowing and puffing, zephyr cooled by the brook
Turfs overran the land with exultation and furore
Fondling, gripping, and cuddling the headstream
Odoratas - ample-petaled,whitish-pink flower lilies
Bobbing in the reverberating melody of undulated waves
Nymphalid - gliding, vagabonding with elegance
Bragging its chromatic colorful ala above the stream current
Cervids drinking serenely with potable crystalline water
Salmons plunging, swimming for life and subsistence
Sedimentary rocks carried away gently, instinctively
Indigenous sanctuary - obscure, raw
Undisturbed habitat of existence
Factual heaven - midst of the woodland
Home of soothing silence - rivulet of my daydream.

Premium Member Her Dusk

Viewing this vista of extraordinary scene
Scenic she's creative in historic darkened means

Meaningful silhouettes, black squared, dark undulations
Undulated to her visitors, their close clanned relations

Relative they may be, but so different in their norm
Normally they would be, differential in their clans

Clannish their panorama, now dusk before their dawn
Dawn is when there's life, a new day has spawned

Spawning oranges and reds, the dusk now bows to the suns wooing
Wooing this extraordinary scene, now my eyes are viewing

Not for Nette's contest, I just loved the image, and it's theme

The forest was lush green and dripping of moss and rain,
Glittering glass streams meandered past dark foliage and trees;
And wild flowers dropped their petals into the water,
Where they drifted down waterfalls into sapphire blue lakes.

I listened deeply to the rippling water kissing the wet rocks,
And the forest was loudly chirping and breathing and beckoning me;
Then I heard my name being called from a faraway place,
It undulated in the tangled branches and whispered on the wind.

The voice called my name over and over and I ran towards it,
My sobbing a loud moaning wail lost in the vast forest and streams;
And it was dark night, the blue sky had withered away,
The stars trembled as I ran through the maze, calling out for mother . . .

                                                                  Then, I awoke, weeping.

Akin

I hear the tantalizing sound
Of sibilant sea waves shaping
sandy shorelines, beckoning my
Soul’s return whence it came
With every endless subsidence.
Like a giant magnet it draws
Me toward its salty expanse
As if in a soporific
Sleep; a somnambulating stroll
Into undulated wetness
Arouses me from my stupor
As it washes over my feet.
I look down at its shallow depth
and smile at my progenitor.

Hand Me My Leather

Twisting and writhing
Ruffling leaves as she passed
S-curves and U-shapes
Propelled her
Past the crumbling daylight
Into the absence of sun
Tar and pitch
Where nothing was to be seen

She sank down on her belly,
Licked the air, thought about
Her life as she gulped a rat
Wondered at beasts and bugs
Their feet, hooves, legs
Ponderous about her own
Lack there of

Her belly had grown crispy
Her eyeballs dry and flaky
As she continued to wonder
In her state of change
Belly down, itchy, itchy!
How easy it must be
For the horse to gallop away
For the cat to preen with paws
The cow to kick unwanted infusions
But she! SHE had to grind and rub
Against rock, bush and dirt
Was she powerless?

The moon

The cold blue white glow of the moon
provided just enough sparkle for her to glisten,
in her shiny black bodysuit
And she began to think doubly
About her situation, as she undulated and bucked and listed, to free herself of her skin

Black bead eyes observed the crunchy strips of paper flaking off, revealing the supple oily wet curves below, new and smoother than fresh patent leather

Was she ingratiated by her lack
of paws?
By her absence of cow tail or even fingers and toes? No.
She thought on,
and considered her second skin, worn out and yellowed, as an old worn out slipper to be discarded, and she- she with her powerful belly like a smooth sole, gliding on the most agile, powerful foot, moved on
With a sensual ferocity
Across the night’s stage
