A Mathematical Uncertainty

Can you count the times you’ve crossed me
And divide it by the times you disrespected me
Then multiply that by the times you hurt me
And come up with a figure?

Relatively speaking it’s a simple equation
Resulting in a drastic re-calculation of the outcome.

Can you give me the square root of the problem
That started this whole conundrum in the first place
And tally up the results and give me a statistical
Analysis comparing the amount of times you
Left me wondering why I’m on this earth
Or if I’m not worthy of trust?

I’m sure the answer would be skewed resulting
In the necessity to rethink the control group.

I believe the right course of action would be to
Figure out the base and height of the love triangle
You thought I wouldn’t notice, and in case you didn’t know
It, I’m pretty good at trigonometry.

Cause for me, who came into this problem with
Total devotion and a faithful trust, this doesn’t

Add up.

As his mind drifts upon silent shores of uncertainty,
he ponders what was, what is and what is yet to come.
He wonders why no one understands the pangs of his soul,
unsure if his thoughts are heard, as they float away with the wind.

Misdemeanors of his mind are plagued by battles within his heart,
deliberating whether the seed of his creed will bleed or succeed.
Before him lies a path infected by vermin devouring dead crows,
behind him a collection of unchallenged emotions from a forgotten childhood.

there were moments, times in my life
when I couldn’t pray – all I felt was strife

there were fears, tears, leftovers from grief
so dark and lonely, I couldn’t get any relief

there were sorrows beyond my understanding
night’s shadows, desperations expanding

there were wars within my spirit, fights
forcing me to feel lost, without any rights

there were storms that made me feel lost
when I look back, I still see what it cost

there were so many feelings I couldn’t express
times when my heart’s hope was only a guess

there were thoughts that fed my insecurities
desperation that left me with life’s impurities

there were relationships, oh, I’ve loved so much
wouldn’t it be beautiful to feel a gentle touch?

there were sensitivities that taught me to doubt
when it comes to feelings I often just want out

there were rains, tempests who were so garish
despite it all though – this love would never perish

amid the battles, amongst the cries – the salty tears
there came a voice stilling my worries and fears

it was love that reminded me - He’s always near
whatever I might face, His love is completely sincere

when I don’t know what to do and the pain is deep
I look to my Savior, knowing that my soul He will keep

Love In the Time of Uncertainty

"Love in the Time of Uncertainty"

Like the tide of the ocean
coming and going
with its calm seductive
hushed reassurances and
vociferous remonstrations
dragging me towards the undertow
I have placed my trust in lovers
that come and go like holidays
short spent longing for depth and length,
I burn them and begin again
considering all their ardent lamentations
best to put a sea wall up and
walk along the edge considering
all the fins that swim
I throw pearls at them
to wear around their thorny necks
sea rope and weeds I wear like the dead,
sea urchins and sirens going off in my head
Love rises from hiatus again like the Sun
when all the dying has now begun
The Heart is a sea shell
sold by the sea shore
placed now against my ear
a treasure chest warm and beating
from a shipwreck
becries its glorious tales
I hear its distant humming
a song it sings to me across
the waves of absence,
another’s longing,
I drink it all in
a tonic for an old Life to die
a new journey to begin
I am as green as absynthe
drugged in delusions and disillusionment,
now darkest dark blue in form
with shades of deepest grey as a tempest
in a cloudy hot mess reading tea leaves
in a cup turned upside down
as above so below
is this how it is done?
Are there such things as
romantic prophecies,
I am lost in reading all the other ruins and
chariots storming fallen tarot towers
gambling on right and left bowers
jokers and their tricks, Queen's Slippers badly fit
card houses built with straw clowns and broken sticks
questions are asked of the
mystic glamour mysteries
Love in the Time of Uncertainty
Peace in the Time of Uncertainty
Wind in my sails sends me out into
The Ocean again ...

raised ink blots of braille -
a feeble language to me.
licking fingers to flip page.
knowledge found in books -
heavy in “rest in peace” pile.
how will i impart knowledge?

uncertain compass -
borrowed from Captain Sparrow.
how can i find my true North?
intemperate spin,
rotating all directions.
the waves of the sea engulf.

sunlight filter in.
Lord light the ancient pathway -
one that leads to happiness.
should growing older
stunt progress forward? march on,
have courage, i tell myself.

Certain Uncertainty

I'm too nervous to resurface,
it's not that I'm worthless
or don't want to work for this,
my motive sits motionless.

Can I bring it to your attention
I need an intervention
to save me from selfish behavior,
a salvation of circumstances
serving me chances to be my own saviour,
challenging this circling hell that prances
unnerving me a certain future
of out of service hope and mischance
where I can't sense my humour.

I'm not stood with hands out
looking for handouts,
I just need that first time wind up
to get the engine ticking
and give reserves corrupt
and vigorous in control of my mind a good kicking.

It's as though I'm not the one that drives
this life I ride,
it's as though I'm not one with any drive,
a life without pride,
but I believe I can once again strive
if I find my stride,
I will breathe and bleed myself alive,
I might be lost but I've not died.

Drag

Drag

After sleeping for the past twelve hours
I still won’t go outside
Only if I feel like dying with the sun on my face
Even then, I’d have to drag myself out there.

With a mouth that tastes like ash
whenever I swallow
If I walk out there, I’ll only fall
beneath the weight on my mind.
These fragile bones will break again.
Even then, I’d have to drag myself to somewhere safe
Possibly, the morgue
I hope to hell it’s a morgue.

Coughing up my insides onto the floor,
there’s always one, who’d love to watch me
crawl back into the dark and away from the pain.
All these cigarettes leave me
is the small belief
that I may never wake up again.

After sleeping through another twelve hours,
I don’t think I’ll be leaving, anytime soon
Only if I feel like dying in the warmth of the sun
Even then, I’d have to drag myself out there
Out where
I may never wake up again.

Uncertainty

"Uncertainty arrives as an enigmatic seed

Leaves of Uncertainty

Leaves of uncertainty have covered the earth
fallen from trees of anxiety and dread
a path, once as clear as crystal blue water
clouded by ponderous tears in its stead

Silence of laughter has deafened the world
stilled by the smallest of creatures we know
the crashing of cymbals in life’s symphony
has summoned us all to a new kind of show

Yet, for this fearsome of unwelcome visits
we will find sunshine on beaches to come
but we must fancy the sun from our windows
to save for us all and not just for some

Relentless Pursuit

I don’t know if my mind still knows the way,
or if the path ahead is just a fading gray.
These endless nights stretch like centuries long,
haunted by a dream that whispers, yet feels wrong.

I don’t know if I’m truly free, or bound tight,
if I’m walking the path that God would invite.
Am I nursing wounds that ache deep in my core,
or donning a mask that hides the hurt I ignore?

Maybe I’m caught in this relentless chase,
grasping at shadows, losing my grace.
These worldly desires weigh heavy on my heart,
planting seeds of worry, tearing my soul apart.

Oh, how I long to speak with the me of tomorrow,
to look into his eyes, to share all my sorrow.
“Have you found the peace that time promised to bring?
Or are you still wrestling with the same haunting sting?”

“Did you achieve the dream that keeps me awake?
If you’ve made it, please show me the way to awake.
And if you’ve lost hope, if the darkness still stays,
tell me how to escape this unending malaise.”

I bear the shame of feeling so low,
crushed by the weight of a life that moves slow.
I wish to be stronger, reborn from the pain,
to rise from the ashes, to dance in the rain.

Please, dear God, forgive me for wrestling with doubt,
for the whispers of fear that leave me without.
Extend your warm hand and guide me from strife,
for without your direction, I’m lost in this life.

PERHAPS, A POEM

Perhaps the wind will turn today,
or perhaps it will drifts elsewhere,
keeping the echoes of what we never said
if quiet were not already there...

Perhaps the rain will choose to fall,
or perhaps it will hold its tears,
leaving the streets unkissed and all
our waiting hearts postpone in years.

Perhaps I saw your smile at sunrise,
or perhaps the night was weaving deceptions;
perhaps what is gone still lingers
and perhaps we gather more than we notice.

Perhaps, my words are not enough,
yet still I write, in quiet prose...
for perhaps a poem is just this:
a maybe that nobody knows.

Uncertainty hangs up above my head
Bringing me to blink faster
To bite my lower lip
And to sigh heavily

Pray, the unknown remains a mystery
It can be pleasant
As it can weigh heavily
The unknown, tomorrow, and what it can bring
Is what I fear!

Why, all that we plan in life
The way we have pictured ourselves
The structures we have built for ourselves
Can crumble at any moment
And can bring us to a state of doom
Unable to stand by ourselves
Unable to be of significance to the world!

Our lives and the way they turn out
Depend not on our will
If such would be so
Why, we would be deemed as being Gods and Goddesses
Having the ability to shape and control existence!

The uncertainty of life, remains my fear
The fact that I am powerless when faced with it
Makes me anxious about it
Why, faith remains the rope to grope on to
When life bares its teeth at us
And shows us her harsh side
Still, life and its unpredictable nature
Often makes me want to renounce of it!

Why, living itself is an act of bravery
Armed with love for life
And for the power that governs it
Allows us to live it while using it
To progress to the state of perfection
Even if one step at a time!

Uncertainty hangs up above my head
And I, pretending to be bold,
Choose to stand up, face it and live
According to it!

The uncertainty of life is rife
With sadness, triumphs and woe;
Scorching heat and cooling rains
From shifting winds that blow.
From north, south, west and east
Bringing beauty or despair
Before the dawn where dreams are spawned
Suspended in thin air.
In a misty fog, a drifting daze
Not night, nor day or morn;
Where moments near fill us with fear
And bravery is born.
By feeble chance of sweet romance
While dancing on death’s door;
The sound of singing, children bringing
Meaning by the score.
To think about and laugh and shout
Sleep-walking on high wires;
Feeble and precarious as
A raindrop on a flower.
Waiting for the miracle
Of the sun to send it home;
Back to the gate from whence it came
And to itself is known.
More familiar than a moonlit pond
Reflecting self to same;
Back home inside its mother’s eye
Devoid of earthly blame.
From all the wrong turns and souls that yearn
For higher realms above;
The uncertainty of life is rife
With mystery and love.

Beauty In Uncertainty

the murky depths of the night drifts off the lone fisherman
     to the tamarind yellow river shaded with ecru of ambiguity;
  wind whispers wrapped in sweet somberness and  shivery softness;
yonder a hint of golden honey light beckons a beautiful uncertainty.

Uncertainty Principle

There once was a particle in space
Who moved at a leisurely pace.
   He measured his speed
   but Heisenberg didn't heed
And lost track of his place.

Explainer:
If you are not a scientist or science enthusiast, Heisenberg's uncertainty principle is one of those fundamental properties of nature which means that you can measure position or momentum not both! Fortunately, this effect only becomes prominent with very small objects.
