The Power of One
Slowly shadows devour the day’s light,
The silhouette of fear draws breath
From the soul left gasping,
A firestorm of fury gathering,
Like mists of plagues escaping
From an ancient land of sand and tombs
With locusts warning of hope’s starvation
To escort the darkness rising
Turning pleas into ashes – weeping into stone -
Pounding on the mountainsides where sweetest spice
Withers beneath lullabies
Robbed of serenity’s grace -
Flowing furious on fevered winds
Pushing reveries and faith out on a ledge -
Not knowing right from left
Or up from down -
No words of clarity in
In the whirlwind’s barren chrysalis,
To hem in - to constrain -
With invisible shrilling waves of crisis
Whipped up by anguish
That binds the wildly beating, frantic heart,
Like a captured sparrow;
To scoff, to jeer, to overlook,
The single bloom standing up,
Trembling like new leaves on thinnest branches,
Scanning galaxies of prophetic possibility,
Then lean on visionary stars
That shatter with the speed of light
The hovering shadow of inertia’s darkest enchantment,
Sending out the solitary song of meadowlarks,
Still caroling through deafness, not silenced,
Not bending to the ill winds moaning
And the chaos screaming,
To scatter seeds of spring not born
Like unseen winged flyers;
To see beyond and past descending doom,
Into that far and sheltered arbor
With dreams of wisdom and young visions -
Outside the grasp of calamity,
Beyond the dark horizon -
Enticing with an alluring fragrance gather back
Into the benediction of the ever circling eternal seasons
Promising….

At the Gold Coast
Parched and dry I stand,
Waiting and recalling
thirsty for your love,
At the Gold Coast
we met last summer,
Under the blue
on the sandy gold,
Memories afresh
Soothing winds unfold !
Your deep dark eyes that
pierced into my heart
Our tale of passion
at first sight did start,
That mighty embrace!
Melting emotions
with heat of breaths,
Tranquillised by
waves that covered by!
An impulse borne away
with every breath,
The most generous one
made me its slave,
Then the tyrant in both
of us well played,
Skin next to my skin,
thinnest air between
simply slipped by,
Intolerance precipitates
setting my soul ablaze,
Make love to me
in this ancient place,
Tears lost in time
and beats not keeping pace,
Wanderlust of my soul
ends at the Gold Coast,
My heavenly abode !

The Dawn
The Dawn, with enormous slowness, penetrates
Chasing darkness back behind his gates
Where, displaced, he will a while reside
Forced to retreat before the crimson tide
That creeps across the land until she frees
All from the night, she moves by sure degrees
The orange glimmer runs to thinnest blue
And on to black with ever changing hue
The heavens bow, the stars they disappear
One by one, until the sky is clear
The golden dome erupts and light she spreads
To encourage all to leave their beds
The moon decides it’s time to slink away
Out shone by mornings colour filled array
The welcome lamp arrives to please the trees
The creatures of the day, the flowers, bees
The birds awake and then begin to raise
In raptures to her glory, songs of praise
Once more the spectre of eternal night
She breaks and gives the Earth her wondrous light
Then man knows best his insignificance
Looks on in awe at her magnificence
Alone he stands upon this modest hill
And prays she comes each day
And always will.

Couplet
Caving tears in the moonlight's shadow.
I wash the pain of yesterday's wound.
A shade of happiness drifts in the darkness.
I start to breathe in a crowded room.
I run fast, 'til I reach the horizon.
Eyes glare at me, I have nowhere to go.
I screw up all the pain this heart kept.
I'm giving up, I'm tired to blend.
Kneeling down, I summon love.
I searched for love myself, and I failed.
I am broken, impaired, can barely bend.
Bring me to life, where love exists.
Lay down my soul barely naked.
Grasp the thinnest air, I'm suffocating.
Sooner or later the pain will be gone.
The night will soon meet the sunshine.

Against a browning hill
oak trees' bleeding limbs are stretched;
some drops release to softly fall
some cling to dry encrusted scars.
A few short months and we will walk
beneath the springing trees
marking their swords of thinnest green
stabbing at the stars.
And so, life seasons make their rounds
in nature and in men
the flower wilts, the rose is pruned,
the leaves must fall again.
Everything of lasting worth
contains a seed of loss;
on young love's throbbing circlet
hangs a bitter cross.
We will walk life's lanes together,
cherishing this pain we share
for spring will come tomorrow
and bloom on our despair.

The leaf came down
it came down
it came down
from heights of thinnest twig
a fated swan
a fated swan
in youth she bloomed unfurled from sprig
in vibrant green esprit of Spring
supple her strength to weather storms
her skin bedewed despite the sun
and anchored she sailed the winds until
she let go
she let go
she let go
—surrender in November
a Fall star dimmed on season’s stage
a fallen star in dizzy whimsy whirl
ah… Autumn’s strawberry-blonde
a flash of fame while colored flame
but dead to a maple tree
who needs her no longer to win aging’s game
though she loses her dew
she’s alive to herself
as she muses with stream-song chanteuses
she’s alive to herself
while baring the bruises she chooses
she’s alive to herself
accepting her fate to crinkle and crepe
she’s alive to herself
—as I am alive to myself

Verse
The thinnest clouds do roll and drift,
As His light does sieve and sift
Left with a trail of silvery haze,
That Man still smiles His fullest phase
'Twas almost daylight He did yield,
As midnight approached upon the field
So caught up was I, a starry-eyed tripper,
That I fell right into the Little Dipper
Here, where stellar kisses come to pass,
Here, where such things could ever amass
One could find love, one could find fear,
One could find another, oh so dear
Under the spell of His lunar tune,
Under the shine of the moon.

I don't know how to tell you this
But the world isn't black and white
Look around, it's a world of colors
And i'm starting to see them tonight
Nobody sees it in quite the same way
But the world has shades of gray
I thought i knew how to handle this
But you don't see the greens or reds
And i'm seeing now in technicolor
From mountains to the thinnest threads
I don't know if you see it like me
But I've seen another way to be
At some point i think i'll get it right
But not if i do things like you
Look around at this world of colors
If you really tried, you might see the hue
My eyes are a mix of blue and gray
No, nobody sees things the same way
It's funny, the reality you live in
So simple... and yet so wrong
The world has never been black and white
Television merely strung us along
I don't know why it's become a fight
The world has never been black and white

Did you ever need to just be held
Gently, like a baby bird or fragile leaf
That when touched harshly
Crumbles to dust in the hand
You who are bound together so tightly
With the thinnest of twine
Who cannot move one way or another
Without breaking in to a million pieces
If someone would just hold you
Honestly and in stillness
You might find the strength to stay bound
Or at least the desire to
What it must be like to float
In and through the soft hands of one who loves you
To find a soft place to land and scream
When the twine finally breaks
The problem is that you look sturdy
You look like the weight of the world
Could rest easily upon your shoulders
You do not look like some fragile thing
Unless someone cares to look in your eyes
They would never know
Only your eyes know the secret
And you never look anyone in the eyes
But there may come a day
When you look up
And hope that someone will see
And hope that they will hold you
And let you breathe for a while
And hold the weight for a while
And let you scream for a while
Until you can laugh again for a while
Gentle seer and holder of lost souls
This is my wish
To be held
To be weightless
To breathe
To be
Hold me

Blind and Deaf
To never see the world
to never hear a sound
always having
to feel my way around
To never see my mother
father or brother
to never hear them say a word
is like hanging for life, on the thinnest cord
To never hear my voice
to never see my face
is like living
without a trace
For me
nothing is ever clear
the world is filled
with darkness and fear
What is the sunset?
I do not know
for in my world, it will never show
What is music?
how does it sound?
it's something in my world
I've never found
and, never will
My world is silent, and always black
but courage is something, I do not lack
On my heart, lies a wish that's true
wishing to see the world, as clear as you.
Authors note: Just a reminder of how precious our sight and hearing is. It is truly a
wondrous gift, we must all be thankful for ......In honor of Helen Keller.......Always Maryam

Oh mothers of the world stand before your mirrors of
Self-reflections, now gather all kindred near, now just
For one moment imagine them disappearing, vaporizing into
The thinnest of air?
This realization is the future fate of the polar bear,
Look into the eyes of this beautiful creature of nature,
Behold she is completely unaware of the meaning of
Extension, this mother only knows her cubs
Are hunger, and there is not enough food to feed them?
The season of the ice grows shorter, the seal
Population has grown less and less every year,
And the Arctic Tundra of her youth has faded away?
The wilderness is vanishing, as man kind enters
This frozen arena of ice and snow, these creatures
Are running out of elbow room.
The mother bears cubs may soon become just
A numbered statistic, or even worse,
To the bitter reality of certain death, it’s time
We do something about it before it’s too late?
Many other species face the same finality,
Yet humanity turns a blind eye to this truth of realism,
What if in the future that mirror is fact not fiction for
Are kind as well!
Again mothers look deeply into the eyes of this
She mother Polar Bear, than again face this reflections
View at yourself, can you not hear the cries of her young,
As their bellies grumble for food substance!
Soon she this proud beast of artic freedom,
This wild symbol of Alaskan wilderness,
May have to choose which cub shall live or
Must die, so that at least one survives,
Which cub of humanity would you so close?
It is up to us the children of humanity,
To make some kind of difference in this world,
Or the only place the Polar Bears will be seen
Is in an inter-city zoo, but even their these
Creatures are in trouble, for the breeding
Programs have run out of fresh bloods DNA,
To produce heathy mating stock?
The future is becoming uncertain for many
Species, it’s all up to us now to make the
World at large a better place to co-exist,
With others on this big blue world of ours?
Until than don’t forget it’s their planet two,
The Polar Bears, tigers, lions, and so many
Others of God’s divine creation!

Poetic Lyrics By Thomas Lam Hsi
THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE GOD...THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY...WHO ALONE CAN
SAVE FROM Satan...who plays 'all' roles...the devil...the 'Lord Jesus'...
the 'Father'...the 'Holy Spirit'...all 'Other Gods'...and 'alien gods'...HE...THE
LORD JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF IS FULLY GOD AND MAN...AND HE ALONE...
IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD THE FATHER...and to an Actual Heaven!
X is the spot...or IS IT?
When the blood has run dried...is the K OVER?
The HIGHEST...the THINNEST...AIR...HERE...or OVER THERE?
WHY the CRIES and those ECHOES...or SHOULD I CARE?
A NAME...NEVER...EVER...TO BE...PUSHED OVER!
TRY as HARD AS YOU MAY...but WILL IT PAY?
Do you BOTTLE GREATNESS...or DOES IT JUST FLOW?
A SMILING HEART...makes MERRY...but a BITTER HEART...JUST POLLUTES!
IN THE END...a THANKFUL NATION...ALWAYS...SALUTES!
GREATNESS like HONEY...only...A FEW...EVER KNOW!
A WARRIOR'S HEART...BLEEDS...IT NEVER...SIMPLY DIES!
HIS LEGACY...is THEIR TURF...and ON THEIR TURF!
Honor and commitment...ARE THE PRESSES...AND YOURS!
IF you MUST...YOU...PLAY with the SCORES!
Till NEXT SEASON...FOR ME...it's SURF...or a DIFF'RENT TURF [golf]!

Ballad
Sailing on a shell of Cosmos
Away from the desert of my past
Slapped by waves, torridly blinded
My raft cries memories of un-rooted forests
Evil Cumulus spreads uncertainty
I loose my balance to whispering Demons
I cannot utter words but I can think like Gods
Fiction becomes reality, my fiction, my reality...
Discovering Immortality in the unconditional
ringing of the bells in my Chapel
... unconditional Love
of my parents, Dead or Alive!!!
I was born a Circus performer
sliding, trusting the thinnest hope
hovering the Humanity....
My heartbeat makes the wire shake
The spectators don't seem to care
they watch the clowns
with cracked make-up along their wrinkles...
All of a sudden I loose my equilibrium
My fiction becomes reality and...
I CAN FLY...

the seed caste onto the stone, and
in seed it is on it's own
never to stretch root, or
finding the thinnest stress to
break through
to
pregnant ground and
soda
the seed caste onto the stone
though no shape will it ever go
oblong roll along a stony
song
until it is split sent into the high-
flyed sky
and sent again
to descend
from the
gods

LIFE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the love of my life, life,
its depth, its range, how rife.
from high up in the air,
to here and there, to where
life finds a niche, takes hold!
from small, to big and bold!
long to tall, thin like thread,
take care where you might tread!
life not seen on the ground,
look hard, it can be found.
you might need a gem loop
to stoop you must, to scoop,
a gem of life so small
no lens, not seen at all
a wasp less than a mill
so cool what a great thrill
life, large, so big, so huge
no tree, no whale, do muse
a fun guy ate with meat
in soup, like life, a treat!
Point of interest:
Fun guy, fungi, personified! For those who don't know: A species of fungi found in the forests of North America can exceed 6 kilometres in diameter, but less than a mil at its thinnest and not much over at its thickest. It is the true fungi.
Mushrooms, toadstools, are its fruiting bodies. Hyphal being their root-like structure, which produces their fruit. One other interesting point is that they are considered scientifically, to be closer to animals than plants, what say the Veegans?
