Best Tendrils Poems
Curling
around the house,
the breeze was unfurling,
moving dead leaves in its twirling
fingers, apparently
satisfied with
whirling
The dance
lured the lovers
to come out and romance
under the willow's shadowed trance,
soft whispers of the breeze
inspired their love's
warm glance
Showers
gently fall on
them, even as flowers
bloom open with piquant powers,
they laugh and enjoy love's
passionate few
sweet hours
The soft
zephyr played with
trees in the woods and croft,
with laughter ringing, it does waft
mingling with mild murmurs
of love in skies
aloft
The breeze
lingers to look
at the lovebirds and tease
them with silky tendrils that squeeze,
meandering with ease,
watching o'er them
'mid trees.

Angelic tendrils cascade over his twinkling eyes
His lightning green reflect my amazement
He catches my gaze and mimics my wonder
Twinkling resonating in my inner being
Angelic tendrils dancing with his laughter
Tight curls, like ribbons on a gift just for me
The sharpness of his eyes and the curve of his smile
Such a divine combination, a gift that heaven sent
In me he lives, and I in him, far more than just friends
And then I lift him in my arms and carry him away
To a place that is safe, to a place that is warm
And with the soft brushing of lips an eternal love has begun.
His eyes read the thousand words he could not say
My very self in loving thoughts I need not explain
It brings me to where pain has no place
Where our hearts can beat their beat together

A man I met once said to me,
“Love does not fall down from the trees”
A common expression from these parts
When you search with your mind, and not with your heart.
Love should be sought with the inner soul
Not as frost bitten leaves, withered up with cold
Neither rotten fruit, cruelly stabbed by blight
Nor nuts that have ripened, then taken flight.
I think love must grow out like a vine
If the roots are strong, it proceeds to climb
It entwines the heart, crushes trailing fears
Then spreads and stretches with the years.
I do not believe love lies upon the ground
For we would spend our lives hanging upside down
But if it grew along a vine
It could grip and swing, with hands of time.

My poems are like creeping vines that I have planted well,
I tend them in my garden of evergreen poetry to be strong;
They are waiting quietly to release their swirling spiral tendrils,
Tendrils that will adhere and entwine and entangle you in my words.
You have whispered to me a challenge and I quiver with joy,
My need to capture you is overwhelming, I am driven to win;
I will do anything you request of me to impress and to please you,
But to lose, it is unfathomable and I can become hostile and clinging.
Can you not see my words so lovely, like wandering thread,
I am tranquility and you can rest in my coolness and my shade;
Hugging, caressing whispering to your muse my beautiful wordiness,
Come wrap yourself in my words, be entwined, there will be no escape.
I was born to write innocent words, to give my writing power,
My need is great, to be acknowledge and known is my one goal;
Nothing else will be acceptable, I crave your muse to hear my cry,
Take my wild poetic words and poems high and let me shine in the sun.
Let's make a deal, if you release me on my upward journey,
I will not encircle you in my wandering seeking green tendrils;
Withdrawal of my choking, hanging greenness will be your reward,
You will be quite safe after I withdraw my clinging hold on your muse.

Refusing to succumb,
to the alluring haze of self-pity,
I refuse to wallow,
in an ocean of regret,
I choose to banish thoughts of despair,
dispelling pain, while tempting joy to emerge from its shielded lair.
I shall sow the seeds of promise,
nourishing well,
the tendrils of hope,
breathing new life into my nights, my days.
I must stand, I will rise, I have to believe,
in a better tomorrow,
not perfect, nor rosy,
yet filled with tidbits of bliss,
as well as with shards of sorrow.

Can you recall seeing me,
on a country walk perhaps,
winding my tendrils tenderly on a fence?
I am very tall and grow wild,
in fields and grasslands found,
and along roads, paths and railroad tracks.
Tendrils and spikes are my leaves,
and my flowers are purple trumpets!
I crawl and sprawl along.
Called "Cow Vetches" and cows love me.
I think, I am more beautiful than any Rose!
I throw my seeds to the wind,
and they thrive and grow sweetly.
You can find me growing from May to August-
Stop to admire me but pick me
and I will die . . .

I have always envisioned hope as feathers,
thanks to a favorite poet, but as time goes on
and life flies by
I realize that for me, hope has tendrils
As layers of life accumulate,
tendrils of hope climb and grow
when a layer of pain develops
a tendril will sprout
When a loved one spirals and
scars accumulate,
a tendril appears and will
reach for the sky
When a loved one dies
and leaves you to sort
through the ashes of life,
a tendril will shoot forth
When a heart cries out
to the one who created it,
a tendril will reach all the way
to the heart

These morning tendrils curl away
and silence cracks ‘neath sleepy feet.
Nocturnal musings gone with day,
these morning tendrils curl away,
each secret breathed is cloaked in gray
in tongues no mortal can repeat.
These morning tendrils curl away
and silence cracks ‘neath sleepy feet.

Filled to the brim with the dense brown odour

The tender tendrils spiralling in growth
round the stake
The grapevine so weak in structure
Yet the fruit juices makes the weakest
of men the most valiant in spirit
Choice of vines adorning the Kings table
Dinner and dinners are graced by their
presence.
The blossom of the grapevine
Is the joy of the winery
Cellars beckoning for more
Choice wines for the vintage class
The bolster of courage for the faint
hearted;
Is the blossom of grapes of a tender
tendrils.

~~~~Tendrils~~~~
As the plush, white flowering bushes grow,
I feel your arms, like the tendrils, they, crawling stealthily
All over my awaiting body.
Overcome, with the scent of you, pressing,oh so gently and yet,
I choose your intoxicating self......
Like the soft flowers of of Spring's white flowers,
Their morning dew of eternal you,blesses my chest!
congratulations to the governments &
the private enterprises
who seek to spy & reap the benefits of those who
offer themselves up to you on a silver platter called
facebook---
it must have been hard(er) back in the day
to get information on people who
may or may not have wanted to give it up to you---
after all,
there had to be money & time spent,
employing agents to sift through documents &
build files on people,
but today,
citizens do it for you!
this must drive you both to ecstasy.
with names, addresses &
all the relationships between people
being freely deposited into the well o’ zuckerberg,
the spreading tendrils of influence into the lives of
individuals seems both constant &
without end,
for the “need” to be socially networked
becomes the norm
rather than the exception &
it’s gotten to the point that because people update their
facebook accounts so quickly,
revealing everything about them in real time,
well hell,
you don’t even need to tap the phones anymore!
but one goes about their facebooking innocently---
they tell themselves
“i have nothing to hide”
“i’ve done nothing wrong”
so volunteering every aspect of their lives to the company
who collects information from the citizens of the empire
doesn’t seem like something to worry about &
those who say that it is, get deemed paranoid
conspiracy fanatics,
so it continues &
US intelligence agencies
get their work done for FREE
&
as the database grows
so does the file on
you,
until the day your card gets pulled.
The surf rattled its applause
on a stony shore
White gulls swirled high
over a black stone tower
The clouds ripped across the sky,
the wind sang its song
Before the morning hour,
a woman walked alone
The cold wind blew around her hair,
five tendrils of blackest deed
She walked towards a distant shore,
her darkness will be free
My child she cried, is here today,
we meet below the waves
My child will welcome me,
by Neptune's coral caves
Shadows linger like tendrils in my mind
Nobody escapes the fingers of death
Rooted in your soul, planted in your being
Seeing is not always believing, it's deceiving
Captured like a picture, photo of the truth
Manipulated into reality that lies the proof
The entity behind the scenes, conspiring
Life lived unowned, the robot is tiring
Shadows never shade, shadows of your grave
The tendrils of evil are so well misbehaved
And nothing is all you can do...
