Whiteness

Winter frost on willow trees
     Weeping tears of snow.
Halos 'round the opal moon,
     Hopeful, humble glow.
Ivory keys collecting dust,
     Itching to be played.
Tresses bleached by age and time,
     Thinning as they fade.
Empty pages bound in cloth,
     Ernest for a word.
Naked rows of birches -
     Noble and absurd.
Endless skies of cotton clouds
     Eager to unfurl.
Strings of sparkling diamonds,
     Strands of subtle pearls.
Shovel, shiver - still, it falls:
     Snow subdues the world.

She Is the Liquid Night

She is the liquid night
The fluid obsidian chalice
She engulfs me

Her breath is frangipani
It is the air I breathe
She permeates me

In her starlit vision
In her saltiness
She inspires me

She is in lahara
The gifts she bares
She subdues me

Her laughter is gold
It is the sunlit day
She uncovers me

In her swaying presence
In her sand strewn hair
She desires me

She is the fallow earth
The orgasmic humus bed
She gestates me

Her touch is dewpoint
It wets my thirst
She precipitates me

In her silken sweat
In her pounding pulse
She receives me

A New Morning

A new morning once again,
promising difference from others before.
Beautiful this morning as I write with pen
and I feel my spirit soar.

I cannot help but stand in awe
of all that I see before me.
Once again, I hear the call
to write of what my eyes see.

Quiet subdues the great expanse
of the forest to the mountains beyond.
A hawk overhead in the great distance
circles steadily and then is gone.

The sky takes on a hazy look
with the sun not quite coming through.
It is to me as if nothing took
away from this beautiful view.

This day for me holds promises anew
as I see it's quiet start.
Opportunities in this day will come to
strengthen and encourage my heart.

Night subdues color
till Dawn's light pierces
its indistinct heart
and it bleeds scarlet
onto crimson smeared
alabaster clouds.

Premium Member Whiskey Moon Wild Wish

Written: September 16, 2023
______________________________________________________________

In arrant essence, without a fight,
Herald of vamps, in the dead of night
Ushers a raw wave that captivates,
The heights of the cosmos resonate.

Wax in our ears, the truth we long to hear,
Despite fear or quaint hopes, with zeal, we steer.
In bravery, the sun's light subdues the sight.
Rolling through the despair of a lonesome night.

Slightly too reckless, we dare to dream,
Framing a foist under the whiskey moon gleam.
Reminiscing about the warmth once shared,
Now mislaid in the miles left behind, scared.

Yet in the depths of our soul, a blaze remains.
A flicker of optimism that cannot be tamed.
Whiskey moon and a reckless wish
Guiding us through this journey, a celestial dish.

We dance with the cosmos, our spirits alight,
Embracing the unsung, chasing the light
With every endeavor, we withstand the odds,
Leaving behind the solace of familiar nods.

In the cosmic realm, we decry our place.
Unveiling the secrets with zeal and grace
Whiskey moon, shining dazzlingly above
Reminding us of castaway love.

But in the gloominess, we explore our way,
Through the shadows, we will not stray.
In the depths of our soul, we hold,
The memories of compassion were once bold.

Though miles may separate and time may pass,
The alliance we formed will always last.
Whiskey moon and ambivalent bliss
Swaying us through life's unpredictable abyss

Premium Member Dauntless

“Put on the dauntless spirit of resolution”. ~ By William Shakespeare

Meet this dweller of the icy continent
Among the few, he is the chief occupant
Out in that territory, it is freezing cold
With nothing but a sea of whiteness to behold
In this far stretching desert of ice
Live the emperor penguins wise
They are birds erect, not designed for flight
Neatly dressed in suits of black and white
They remind us of nuns dressed in white
With hoods in black and souls contrite

The penguins thrive in snow and sleet
That to them is never an easy feat
Over the ice they smoothly waddle
And in water with flippers, they paddle

Strangely, it is in the peak of winter they breed
When nature goes scarce with food to feed
After a period of intimate courtship
Into responsible parenthood they slip
The female lays a single egg
Never one more, even if we beg
Right away she goes on a feeding spree
Appointing her husband as designee
To guard over the egg and keep close watch
Until the young one is ripe to hatch

Do you know how it incubates the egg?
He balances it on the feet of his leg

Till the young one is out, he refuses to eat or drink
A rare sacrifice of which we can hardly think
In this period, he thrives solely on body fat
And in course, he loses half his weight
At last, from the egg, when the chick is out
It is not allowed to go to the ice direct
But is locked inside the parent’s brood pouch
Where the little one feels comfy as on a couch
If it ever dares to venture out
It will freeze to death, no doubt

The emperors thus live on the razor edge of life
And their lives with challenges are rife
Yet with dauntless resolution, they face their fate
And against all adversities, their life they celebrate
With their densely packed layers of plumage
They keep their bodies from serious damage
When comes the blasting breath of the blizzards
As a precaution to skim over the hazards,
From their territories, they rally en bloc together
Huddling tight for warmth in the biting weather

Don’t you think the penguin is an emperor
Who subdues his hostile territory with prudent care?
A longer version of the bird’s dauntless endeavor is our life
An arduous climb through perils, pain and strife!

Premium Member Counting My Blessings

On this magical night of mystical beauty
the enormous moon is my friend;
As I gaze at the colors of lack in the night
I deepen my stride and walk with the light
each pebble asleep rolls away at my feet
as the water subdues I'm in silent retreat ;
in this magical moment of Mystical Beauty
soaked to the skin when the day is off duty
I count every blessing like grains of the sand
gathered as one, in the palm of His hand;
On this one blessed night,
all the stars shine so bright,
and Oh... ,
What a view !

Premium Member Tongue Kiss

A KISS from a true love is SATISFACTION. CHAIN REACTION DEEP within. GUARANTEED TO cause a need for more. No longer a WANT or need of FOOD OR SHELTER. ONLY THE WANT of your LOVERS CONDITIONED LIPS.

As the tongue INVADES. MUSIC PLAYS. ALL THOUGHT AND SENSE is left on the HIGHWAY OF DESIRE. THE TONGUE displays such BEHAVIOR UNKNOWN. THEN INTRUDES AGAIN. BY PLEASURABLE FORCE, THE LOVER SUBDUES THE OTHER. LEAVING THE OTHER LOVER BREATHLESS AND WEAK. THE LOVER WAS COMMANDING AND DEMANDED WHO HAS A MORE SUPERIOR TECHNIQUE. LET THEM COME FORWARD NOW WITH PROOF.

TAKING THE OTHER LOVER WITH ONE ARM
AND ONCE MORE FILLING THE KISS WITH FIERY BLISS. CAUSING THE OTHER LOVER TO GO LIMP. OH my love, Exstacy is guaranteed.
And he feels the other TREMBLE UNDER HIS TOUCH WITH A FINAL LIPS ON LIPS SUCCULENT SALUTE DELUXE.

AAAH! The truth is REVEALED. SHE BLUSHED.
THAT FACE what BEAUTY. THOSE LIPS WHAT LUST.
WHAT FLUSH. THE RUSH. ENOUGH!

Premium Member Exotic Heat By Degrees

HEAT BY DEGREES (a semi erotic poem)

Feathered shivering fingertips
give way to erotic heat by degrees,
the hot-cool beat of lovers in cadence.

If, when on this journey of perplexing events
one learns about love's secret itinerary,
it would be wise to remember,
passion invites, the possession of which
varies in heat by degrees.
and with most individuals save a few,
like a drug, it subdues withdrawal pains
for just a short time.

When the caresses have begun to mellow,
trysts, in heat by degrees, again start to ascend
stealthfully lurking, to buoyant rising from
places deep in the corrugated shadows
of man's frenetic mind.

Infused, and fired with singular intention,
heat by degrees unabashedly exposes
greater levels of agitation and rushes forth
unrestrained by any rational reasoning.

Ah, but when basted by the tested
and proven love of blended familiar flavors,
the savoring of remembered exotic delights,
becomes richer and more pleasing and
the heat by degrees flames evenly
and ever so slightly down, waiting for love
to be served at just the right temperature.

This Woman I Am

THIS WOMAN I AM
WRITTEN BY NJIDEKA
IKERIONWU

This woman I am
 Stops me at’imes
It crooks my cruises
And storms my sails
Cuts my journeys short
And cows my instincts
Shrinks my time at
library
It edits my vocabularies

Most times
It dumbs my mouth
And numbs my nerves
Subdues actions inside
me
Just to evade that
question
That shy’s and freezes
my actions
Don’t you know you are
woman?

Yet I want to come and
come back again
As the woman I am
Being under
Savouring the joys of
womanhood
Always happening
inside me
The sweetness of
receiving ends
Enjoying the sucks of
my babies
Cite me right in this
verse
A bit shy now
This woman I am

Qaress Genisless

when the diver
with his deluded desire on fire
juxtaposed the diving suit
and found false gold ingots at the bottom of the sea,
he had the vision of Eden obliterated by fire,
because if immersed or submerged as a result of errors,
you find nothing inside or outside of yourself
that is not a simulacrum of what is real,
for in the stationary orbit of irregular thoughts,
the phatic chains collapse
and what was wild about you natural
today is a modern polymer so processed,
to the point that the rattle of these failures
subdues an entire strain of humanism
that we happen to have one day
and our current mix of insanity and obsession
it is just what does not free us from more abysses,
not even if unhappiness depended only on it
or if the risk of succumbing as a gender
no longer exist in us unnecessary.

I Thee Wed

Bouquet bride on a smitten horse,
Chocolate doubts and pastel thoughts.
Twister of love wails and hums,
Something wedding this way comes.

Envy ripples from jade reflections,
Last call for last chance objections.
Silenced by their kindred vows,
A shield of trust subdues the crowd.

Safe in a sleek four-wheeled cocoon,
Speedy whoosh travel and floral scent swoon.
Observing with steady, wanting eyes,
Soft, supple breasts and baby-white thighs.

Husband squared and maleness pumping,
Tender beastie rhythm thumping.
Chosen master of my flowing, blooming heart,
Future father giver with a fluid mix to start.

On that night of seven-course passion,
Wanting him more than you can fashion.
Holding her after you explode with release,
On that bed of wedding grease.

Oh, what a marriage we will be,
Running like twins through a mystery.
Memories gaining, curious, diverse,
From a twisted pair of hearts in verse.

Bouquet bride on a smitten horse,
Chocolate doubts and pastel thoughts.
Twister of love wails and hums,
Something wedding this way comes.

Premium Member Midst Technology-Caused Confusion, I Trust God

I praise God for modern telecommunications’ inventions
Making mankind benefit so well
But I feel bad, when in their vexing, “gobsmack” malfunctions
I become dysfunctional; thus, my exasperation-nerves swell!

I thank God for computer experts
For their good contributions, indeed numerous
Yet I got nervous when their genius alerts
Warn me of glitches’ “bamboozles” due to internet-driven virus!

I seek God for His enlightening wisdom
When confused with social media's bewildering entanglements
I’m sad though for those who abuse information-freedom
As they deny and neglect consequences of their engagements!

I pray to God to guard me from being deceitfully puzzled
With varied scams’ alluring appeal and financially enticing
By global transactions “gobsmacking” netizens to be wealth-dazzled
Using fake identities; yet others’ privacy --- compromising and exposing!

I trust God for His control midst “hacking” ventures
Of ill intentions, never amusing, to wreck information sites
Such are shocking “bamboozling” gestures
Dominated by selfishness-blights and greediness' heights!

I rely with faith as I rejoice* in God Who knows what’s best
Despite “gobsmack, bamboozle and confusion”-attacks…
To Him do I yield my questions for His great answers to the fullest
Since His omniscience subdues my doubts with His truth’s packs!

*1Chronicles 16:10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

Father and Son

There is oft an awkward tilt
Twixt a father and a son.
'Tis as if a sense of guilt
Overshadows each one.

No mention is made of it
Pretending it isn't real.
Neither is willing to admit
It's a feeling both do feel.

The words they speak
Are wrung from the tongue
Unduly forced and meek
Like a song weakly sung.

What subdues them is the fact
That father must yield to son.
Thus they artfully act
As if the truth were undone.

But truth will wield its way,
An aged practice will abide.
Then for son will come a day
When he too must step aside.

It's a pattern as old as the skies
This tilt twixt father and son.
It drives generations to rise,
It's the way the earth is run.
