I‘d been staying with pa - my folks got a divorce
and pa took me to the local greyhound course
Pa’s greyhound was running, he runs very fast
He’s called Pterodactyl, pa’s dog never comes last!

I stayed in the stalls, it was pouring with rain
and our ‘Terry’...

Novelists and Nobodies
Novelists and Nobodies

Ah, now this my domain, the library
Where cultures collide.

Men of leisure reeking from their latest dumpster dive
mingling with men in leisure suits studiously swimming in their work.

And me, in my disguise?
I'm hidden between both,
Like bookends.

Where else can a man of my means
In my...

9/22/2023

Just like the lake of melting wax, on a candle gives off light,
Life is not about championing the selfish, golden prize!
Hopefully, I stay thankful with all...

"The Vagaries"

You could go all Zen over Me,
I’d listen studiously, then, spit it out
like cherry seeds for integration

the flesh of it all,
"The Past", savoured;
"The Future",

for lame time-wasting
poetic rebels pretending
to be connoisseurs, parlaying -

"The Now", struts irreverently,
dealing its Bolchevistic
cards

and there sits You,
holding the mirror...

Unclimbed Stairways
              by Odin Roark

At the base of the stairs
He lay on his back
Upon his chest
He propped his hero

Peering up through GI Joe’s
Stand-your-ground stance
All seemed climbable
Just like in the movies

But he knew
Summit...

THE CRYSTAL PALACE

The gods awoke, as they occasionally do,
and found Fred Cross in multitudes, alone.
Unconsciously aware of...

Sans Scribbling Scrolling, Scrounging Scrunching Scrying Scribe Section Sixty
the following quite quirky epistle may not exhibit the ordinary characteristics of poetry, but i decided to share this self made challenge (where every word begins with the letter "S" - no explanation can be offered why such self cerebral torture imposed, nor what motivated...

This free verse was written from an agnostic point of view
so may appear biased, against organised religions
I assure you this is not my intention, and it is simply a poem
For the record, I have told lies in the past, and still do occasionally...

The Fix
All one can do is sit silent and smile when knowing that most
Everything is aligned and lying within the bed of, insane...

I Saw the Devil Falling Asleep Without Waking
i saw the devil as doubt and my mind relaxed and recoiled at the thought eyes studiously staring at each flaw finding reason to turn away realizing that all along it was an illusion that kept me awake at night and daydreaming out of the...

Anything For You
Anything For YOU

I poetized your name on the sky with my blood as the ink
I kept my eyes frozen to admire the beauty of your eye blink
I summoned Sakura flowers on the pavements beneath your feet
I studiously counted the flow of my love inside each...

I Saw You Hanging
Jesus, I saw you hanging there alone
Like truth that needs neither props nor supports
Deserted by your studiously chosen apostles and
Disowned by Peter, James and his brother, the approved inner circle

Jesus, I saw you hanging on the cross
Like a slaughtered goat for public sale
Condemned by the...

Forgive, Me I Know, Not, What I Have Done
I know, not, what I have done
singing songs, joyfully created
did they physically fund
more cognitive understanding
or less inner and outer reality
did the dancing of others
make for sinful, carnal, flesh
to studiously make more fuel for the fire
did collective exchange
bank roll...

darling dimpled dervishes
dancing delightfully
ghouls goblins gargoyles
gabbing, grabbing, ghosting,
witches wearing weaves,
wistfully watching watchers
dust of night brings Halloween
Outstanding orange ovarian owls
studiously studying steeples,
betting bulbous bats below
will wind-fly down, betwixt and between.
jealously juicing, joyously jeering
Dubiously doubting daring dust of the night....

On Looking into Curious George’s Mirrors
by Michael R. Burch

Maya was made in the image of God;
may the reflections she sees in those curious mirrors
always echo back Love.
