Best Stiffest Poems
When When Then Yoga
When
Your downward dog is barking and
Your cat pose is meowing and
Your tree pose is swaying and
Your cow pose is mooing and
Your cobra pose is striking and
Your sphinx pose is speaking and
When
Your child pose gets naughty and
Your warrior one gets shot and
Your warrior two goes down and
Your corpse pose stiffens.
Then
Your yoga journey ends.

Ode to the people of Norway
Strophe
O, the darkness has descended on a paradise
Of Norway’s bounties of nature
On the people living a quiet life
Not concerned about the politics ever
A drug addict, calling himself a warrior
Taking pride of being a savior of Europe
Unmindful of the death toll of the young
Rejoicing in the tears falling from their eyes
A Hitler has raised his ugly head up
Polluting the minds of the old and the young.
Antistrophe
But trying to take a refuge to insanity
Taking drugs to make himself efficient and awake
Priding over to start war for years sixty
Pleading not guilty to terrorism namesake
Though confessing to bombing and rampage
But remaining unaffected by what happened
Thus his plea assures him of future court hearings
By the attacks Norway is riveted with rage
By Breivik’s paranoid writings stunned
Hundreds thronged the courthouse proceedings.
Epode
With tears in their eyes people paid homage
To the victims laying roses a few feet deep
While the killer faces 21 years in prison
The stiffest sentence can be given by a Norwegian judge
His lawyer says the whole case suggests his client is insane
The Royal couple consoled people and tears shed
The prime minister called it a national tragedy
And summed it up “evil can never defeat a nation”
The killer may enjoy Halden, the luxurious jail in the world
Where cells have flat TV and designer furniture facility.

Contest: Ode (Old/new) poetry by SKAT Love
When nature throws away the winter's shackles
Discovered in the garden or the woods
Even the audible perception
The stiffest coldest long winter
After discovering it
The sun's glorious beams
The first small flowers
Pure happiness
Celebrate
New nests

We know only those faces,
We have seen in history.
Yet countless strange faces are there
Who fought for the country.
We can never repudiate
Selfless sacrifices of those men,
So I am paying tribute to all those
Martyrs and soldiers through my pen.
Indulged in your duties,
Far away from your family and loving ones.
You fight for our
Dreams, hopes and liberty,
Strutting boldly amidst the raging guns.
Whether it is scorching rays of Sun
Or it is blood freezing cold,
You fight relentlessly
Standing so strong and bold.
You are the true sons of the nation.
For the sake of our lives,
Irrigating this land with your blood
Is your only passion.
Time will never obliterate the fact…
You stand for us like an adobe.
With lion like courage and firmness of temper,
You have made our tricolor
Shimmer throughout the globe.
Death can’t cease you to live
As you live even after dying.
I salute your martyrdom,
For you never got older.
Fighting to keep us free,
It is the stiffest thing
To be you- A SOLDIER......
When But Then Yoga
When
Your downward dog is barking and
Your cat pose is scratching and
Your tree pose is swaying and
Your cow pose is mooing
But
Your snake pose bites and
Your sphinx pose speaks and
Your child pose gets mad and
Your warrior one gets shot and
Your warrior two goes down and
Your corpse pose stiffens.
Then
Your yoga journey ends.

When did children become a national target
How can this insidious slaughter be met
Can we ban the AR 15's
For our toddlers and our vulnerable teens
Will a national revolution
Provide a lasting solution
I accept the need for amendment two
But surely...
An additional provision is due
For the sale and carry of the AR 15
Surely, the stiffest penalty should be seen
For 20 years the violence has seen an increase
Political partisans should be released
Restore our schools and youth to peace
Every day is a new debate
While we watch it escalate
Genitalia is a word that sure catches one's interest
It's got something to do with being the stiffest
Like an uptight dude
Now that's really rude
'Twas about Genny's ponytail, tested me to the limit
The eighties ignited a hair bomb
With Siouxsie And The Banshees
Cyndi Lauper and Platinum Blonde
With enough Final Net and a thorough tease
Your hair would stand up to the stiffest breeze

~Sweet Victory That For Seconds Lasts~
Where is the satisfaction, that so silent be?
As still as the bark of a dead old tree.
Where are your friends, or so they say?
Floating ever so selfishly on Indifference Bay?
Of your happiness and victory, they could care less.
Being forever unfriendly, you fool you, in naive ruthlessness!
This is your moment in time, to pencil them out.
For a true friend, shares your heart and with victory does openly shout!
This poet too small of mind to congratulate you,no, not ever!
Must have no muse plus a heart made of the stiffest leather.
They bandy about the Soup, with greatest arrogance.
To crush your poetic dreams, must be their ill defense.
Well~ You are not invisible to me!
Just bloated poets fooling some with heartless treachery.
Then write of peace and love on the planet?
Please keep these from me, Lord...the unbearable arrogant.
