At mothers’ knees, let children learn
of simple kindness; let us turn
away from hate and love with ease.
Let children learn at mothers’ knees.
In word and deed, let men be wise.
Their actions seen by children’s eyes
can change our world, and this we need!
Let men be wise in word and deed.
In every place, the Golden Rule
needs to be taught - at home; in school!
Imagine if we lived with grace
the Golden Rule in every place!
To just be kind - it's not so hard.
Nobody should be living scarred
by vicious acts or be maligned.
It's not so hard to just be kind.

I wake up at the break of dawn
stretching, I stifle a huge yawn
then fumble for my coffee cup
at the break of dawn I wake up
I must prepare a little snack
and pack it into my rucksack
For my days out in the fresh air
a little snack I must prepare
I’ll ramble on lush verdant hills
admiring golden daffodils
I’ll stay out till the sun has gone
lush verdant hills I’ll ramble on
I’ll stay outside for quite a while
and clamber over fence and stile
Our Island makes me beam with pride
for quite a while I’ll stay outside

Painting by Leonid Afremov
Older, I grow each birth of dawn,
then, more when sun has set and gone.
My soul feels mirth, days come and go.
Each birth of dawn, older, I grow.
On shifting shore, I lightly tread
in fear of what might lie ahead.
I pray my strength will soon restore.
I lightly tread on shifting shore.
With inner light, I tend to blooms.
God’s gift to me when darkness looms
My vibrant vase brightens gray sight.
I tend to blooms with inner light.
My love remains this sleepless hour
in search of dreams as shadows tower.
Held in your arms, my darkness wanes.
This sleepless hour, my love remains.

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins" (Mark 11:25)
The air was still, the morning misty cold,
and birds were singing melodies sweetly loud;
I shook off my dreamy dream and felt the chill,
the morning misty cold, the air was still.
I stretched and yawned, rising from my bed,
the last wispy threads of sleep now shed;
I brushed my long hair till no tangles were found,
rising from my bed, I stretched and yawned.
As I touch him sweetly, I whispered awaken my love,
he spoke cruel words and jumped up raising his fist above;
he looked ugly and my heart was scarred completely,
I had whispered awaken my love, as I touched him sweetly.
The cliff rose high, the sea beat the jagged rocks,
I was shattered and wanted to die for my heart held only locks;
no beautiful rapture laid within my soul as I looked at the sky,
the sea beat the jagged rocks, the cliff rose high.
Weeping in this lonely place, I prayed to the Lord then,
forever I vowed, I will write forgiveness with my mighty pen;
I will write amazing poetry- like birds gliding with wings of grace,
I prayed to the Lord then, weeping in this lonely place.

Winter is here it starts to snow
People are cosy by fireside glow
Christmas time brings fun and cheer
It starts to snow winter is here.
Flowers now bloom it must be spring
Song birds happy they start to sing
We've left behind the winters gloom
It must be spring flowers now bloom.
Heat from the sun, temperatures rise
Longer days with early sunrise
Beach and barbecues having fun
Temperatures rise, heat from the sun.
It's getting cold Autumns here now
Summer season now takes a bow
Amazing colours, reds and gold
Autumns here now it's getting cold.

Midway on vacation spree he looked in my eyes
Dancing to velvet ballads playing in reprise
Hues of azure twilight through swaying maple tree
He looked in my eyes midway on vacation spree
Bathed in honeyed mist drizzled whispers made us fly
Lilac primrose petals caressed golden blue sky
Parched sand dunes held rippled oasis to be kissed
Drizzled whispers made us fly, bathed in honeyed mist
We floated through greenwood embraced by mystic haze
Wet twigs preserved our footprints of secrets ablaze
Fluffy clouds spiraled lucid drops on cuckoo's hood
Embraced by mystic haze, we floated through greenwood
Scented petrichor repose, sprayed by flaming muse
I paused his melodious hush to let it fuse
Into the rivulets cruising in those meadows
Sprayed by flaming muse, scented petrichor repose

As I pace the corridor, I cry tears of joy
Patiently, I await...is it a girl, is it a boy
My wife went into labor, at a quarter to four
I cry tears of joy, as I pace the corridor
Her hand in mine, as I sit by her side
It's my child too...must go along for the ride
Contractions speed, it's almost that time
As I sit by her side, her hand in mine
Push said the nurse, tears in our eyes
Harder and harder, she pushes...she cries
She shouts "Is this what they mean-for better for worse"
Tears in our eyes, push said the nurse
Darling, we have a newborn son...we've been blessed
So warm, so soft...his breath as he rests
My love, my wife, look what's been done
We've been blessed...Darling, we have a newborn son

June is for daddy it's his day He may want to fish on the bay The cake was made with a mint paddy It's his day June is for daddy
June is for graduates they yell hooray With colors of white and gray Their students are from many states They yell hooray June is for graduates
June is for weddings we say I do We use to be two Our names were the main headings We say I do June is for weddings
June is for beautiful flowers I want to be outside for many hours Night is coming with a full moon Beautiful flowers is for June

I recall June dreams beyond seasons' past
which bring me down lanes where old guitars waft ;
his fingers twanging notes, our laughter screams
beyond seasons' past... I recall June dreams.
This man I adore as God’s prized token,
grunts at fairy books with scowls unspoken
yet hands would strum about mythical lore ...
as God’s prized token, this man I adore.
Lurks the night raven with venom impressed--
casting a fierce shock upon his dear chest
to drown rhapsodies from our lane's haven:
with venom impressed, lurks the night raven.
Ablaze in this heart, fiddler’s tunes I keep
where moments enchanted prance in my sleep--
Grandpa, not in time will we be apart,
fiddler's tunes I keep... ablaze in this heart.

In mornings I do not tax my brain
Grateful to lord to raise me again
I sip tea in the garden adornings
I do not tax my brain in mornings
As I have a set routine in the chain
I zoom off for a golfing campaign
18 holes keep up my fitness scene
In the chain, as I have a set routine
No office for me since I am retired
but for household help I am hired
Finances, shopping, I help in glee
Since I am retired no office for me
In evenings a glass or two of wine
With friends, family is always fine
I read out lines of poetic leanings
A glass or two of wine in evenings

My porch is lush with colored hues,
I have white, pinks, purple and blues;
love it in the early dawn hush,
with colored hues, my porch is lush.
Green herbs tumble from brown clay pots,
my creeping jenny is in knots;
bright wild blooms grow in a jumble,
from brown clay pots, green herbs tumble.
Oat grass grows for my kitty cat,
nice to sit with friends for a chat;
and often go there to compose,
for my kitty cat, oat grass grows.
Vines curl and unfurl here and there,
people often look up and stare;
such a serene place for this girl
here and there, vines curl and unfurl.

You are the mistress of the night
in red, yellow, orange or white,
not just like some distant star.
Of the night, mistress, you are.
So many shapes and forms you take
with faces at the Earth you make
and from your light there are moonscapes.
Take you so many forms and shapes.
Sometimes you touch my kitchen floor,
a streak of white light I adore.
Clear moonlight is never too much.
My kitchen floor you sometimes touch.
You rule romance in everyone,
reflection of the guardian sun.
Sometimes the say that you are blue.
Romance in everyone rule you.

In my brittle life’s fragile landscape changes are not aberration,
etching a valley incised on contours of topographic undulation,
meanders in time to plains of nebulous future taking shape,
changes are not aberration in my brittle life’s fragile landscape.
Many a surging streams in a spate I’d crossed in a blink,
with petals of dreams held close to the heart lest they’d sink,
chased the butterflies in the scented air to the yonder strait,
I’d crossed in a blink many a surging streams in a spate.
From the soul’s depth of bliss I collected a treasure
of rare gems sparkling in divine ecstasy to the full measure,
pearls of dew adorned my meadow, their hue I didn’t miss,
I collected a treasure from the soul’s depth of bliss.
While I walk the last mile I won’t count the steps any more,
at the end of time when I’ll reach life’s eternal sea shore,
before setting sail I’ll look back at the footprints for a while,
I won’t count the steps any more while I walk the last mile.

Theme: Forgiveness
On the cross, He was forsaken,
My Jesus, His life was taken,
All His gains, He counted them loss,
He was forsaken on the cross;
He wailed in pain in the darkness,
Death He faced in its starkness,
For all my sins, He was slain,
In the darkness, He wailed in pain;
He forgave those who nailed Him,
Faced agony up to the brim,
This sinful world He came to save,
Those who nailed Him, He forgave;
He was buried in a new tomb,
Born to die right from the womb,
The sins of the world, He carried,
In a new tomb, He was buried.
He rose again on the third day,
Showing this world, He is the way,
He was victorious o'er pain,
On the third day, He rose again.

I see in your glaring eyes, you’ve an inferno of anger within,
the tongue splutters words of vitriolic mind like acid rain.
From wild fire the sane senses turning to ember ashes rise,
you’ve an inferno of anger within, I see in your glaring eyes.
I don’t abandon you in the simmering cauldron of hatred,
nor do I try to blaze you in the flame of vengeance instead.
Fire can’t douse fire, as in my soul wrath you can’t spew,
in the simmering cauldron of hatred I don’t abandon you.
I inundate you in flowing forgiveness like spurting fountain,
shower of divine element drenches you, douse fire of disdain.
You rise from ash of repentance at the burnt edge of calmness,
like spurting fountain I inundate you in flowing forgiveness.
I pray to God, give me strength of mind and wisdom of sense,
get divine forgiveness for the sins, I pledge sincere penitence,
forgive others for their wrong doing, I beseech my soul avowed,
give me strength of mind and wisdom of sense, I pray to God.
