Raindrops

Raindrops
are like my thoughts
falling down into my mind
sending goose bumps down
my spine

Their cool aftermath
cleanses me of my thoughts
of fear and uncertainty
about what tomorrows
pain may bring

They make me feel,
wet with creativity
drenched in my optimistic
illumination. glistening
raindrops, my thoughts
leave paths of pleasurable
distress, and hope of success
which road, less traveled
may be the best

Forget an umbrella
when these raindrops
arrive, I walk outside
arms open wide

Ready to Receive
whatever
the mind storm may bring
because raindrops are
as my thoughts, falling
down into my mind
sending shivers down
my spine

My brain, yearns
for the rain, to wash away
the pain, tomorrows worry
does bring
One special drop
could speed up life's clock
to the time
I can handle my own
and not dwell inside my controllers
home

For raindrops are,
like my thoughts
falling down into my mind
sending goose bumps
down my spine

Premium Member Moving Lightly

I move lightly at sixty,
a little less than the max.
Any faster, and the sunflower shells I spit
blow back in my face,
and any slower and the driver behind
becomes too distressed.

I move lightly at sixty,
homeward through the rural landscape,
past barns and combines,
engine humming, without straining,
secure that I need not be anywhere,
or anything, but myself.

I move lightly at sixty,
through the longer shadows of fall,
short days and warm afternoons,
trees variegated with the leafy
nostalgias of the year past,
and the years before.

I move lightly at sixty,
the old van's engine drones
as I "OM", indistinguishable
one from the other, both well worn,
and oblivious of the
years we show.

I move lightly at sixty,
no longer with a need to lie,
or prevaricate,
in love with every woman I see,
and no longer afraid
to say so.

I move lightly at sixty,
in love with the journey,
rather than the goal.
In love with the moment
rather than the hour and
the need to mark it.

I move lightly at sixty,
bemused by public anger over
a rappers words, knowing they
are far less harmful
than the blood shed
in my time.

I move lightly at sixty,
ready to gear down if necessary,
still able to speed up if needed
to avoid the hazards
of an overactive ego
and libido.

I move lightly at sixty,
content to be alone,
joyful to have company,
regretting neither,
thankful for old friends,
and old loves.

I move lightly at sixty,
finding that not acting,
is as important as the act,
knowing that one can be undone,
and the other, can't.

I move lightly at sixty,
like a comfortable breeze
on a fall day, a thermal for a bird,
uplift for a friend,
a drying wind for a
tearful cheek.

I Need You......

I squeeze myself, turn the music off…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I close my eyes, scream in my head…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I take a deep breath, feel my chest shudder…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I feel my heartbeat speed up, though time seems still…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I press my face to my pillow, trying to focus…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I hear an echo in my head, can it be your voice?..

~ You Need To Be Here ~

My arms are empty, discomfort breaks my focus…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

My hands are cold, my bed is so lonely…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

There is nobody here, only blankets to hold me…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

A glimmer of hope, I dreamed of you…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

My fantasy so short, I woke too soon…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

My eyes are dry, I roll over in discontent…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

My muscles tense, my conscious sways…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

Like an itch I can’t reach, my insatiable longing…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I feel claustrophobic, you’re so far away…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I need to hold you, I need to protect you…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I need to hear you, I need to feel you…

~ You Need To Be Here ~

I need your love, I need to love you…

Premium Member Winter Love

Bones creak with winter’s chill,
sledge trails cover the sparkling snow,
rushing like the wind in a barren landscape
towards a bleak lonely village far below
shimmering amongst the dark stately pines.
A teak grey sky domes over petrified trees.
Skiing hard, feeling an exhilarating allure,
hypnotic and unfettered despite the gelidity
as the cold breeze blows and moans into my face.

From afar a church bell tolls the end of day,
grey smoke twirls out of black chimneys.
There, in a homely cottage, you await,
a thick soup spreads its hot fragrances,
and thick slices of hot French bread
awaits my empty stomach. I hunger.
Oh yes, I hunger for tasty soup and more.
I speed up for nothing can stop me now
savouring the thought of you waiting in a snug bed
and dreaming of you and a pair of lips so cherry red.

Crush

your words are like honey to my ears
you know exactly what I want to hear
I put a wall up so I don't have to face my fear.
When I fall for someone I usually end up tears.

This isn't about the fear of rejection
but its actually about the fear of perfection.
I know no one is "Perfect" but I made you my selection.

I created this image of you, I set a high expectation.
I go to bed a night not giving into temptation.
I'd probably do anything for you without an explanation.

You see I always end up falling so hard and so fast
I should be really careful because my heart is made of glass.
When I look for love, I look for something that will last.
Something a lot better than I had in the past.

I know I shouldn't expect too much
I know with this love thing i should never rush.
but can I get a " Refill" of this "Conversational Lush"

I wish I could slow down my mind
I wish i could speed up time.
I wish you could hurry up and be mine.

Waiting For You

Everyone always said
That with age
Time speeds up
Rushing all around us
And I found this to be true
That is
Until I found you
Now I find
That time has slowed
Almost coming to a stop
When you are not near me
It is as if I am
Attempting to swim
In a sea of molasses
I slowly start to sink
Downwards
Becoming frozen in time
Waiting for movement to happen
Time slowly ebbs on
Creeping through the seconds
As if it were a caterpillar
Crawling across a vast green leaf
I shall sit here waiting
Hoping for time to speed up
Just so I can be closer
Closer to having you
Back in my arms
Closer to kissing your lips once more
Closer to always having you
By my side forevermore
Just closer to you
Come home safely to me
Ill be waiting my dear
Time moves slow
While waiting for you
But your love
Is worth the wait
So Ill be right here
Waiting for you my dear

Empathetic Light

Empathetic Light

Lady Diana, the exquisite Princess of Wales.
A heroine now in hundreds of tales.

An accomplished pianist at Buckingham Palace.
A hopeful ballerina, a kindergarten teacher.

A radiant young woman who loved to dance,
A royal young activist.

A humanitarian princess with courage, not discouraged.
A demure beauty, dedicated to duty.

To replace fear with compassion, she modeled for the world charitable actions.

"Hold my hand, I’m not afraid”
whispering to a man who suffered with AIDS.

Her hugging and empathy never ceasing, her tender love always increasing.

A hospital president for sick children, her mission.

Cautiously walking through land mines, one scary step at a time.
Explosives in the ground, she showed their purpose no longer found.

Her little princes, one on each arm.
William and Harry adored their mum.
To normalize life at times,
Disney rides, McDonald’s fries…

Paparazzi hunted her for years, bringing danger and tears.

The most photographed woman in the world.
A wedding dress of 10,000 pearls
An elegant, humble golden girl.

One evening a tragic trip through a Paris tunnel.
Drive faster,
speed up,
turn them off
put them down
stop clicking
turn around.

Then a horrific shame, who was to blame?
Indescribable loss at a human cost.

God wanted her back in 1997.
The Princess Of Wales, was our present from heaven.

They say a billion mourned. The world’s hearts truly torn.

Memories of mummy nobody could take.
Two royal sons, their hearts did break.
Now fathers with children to love, new charities to support and take care of.

I miss her now and missed her then.
Your sister, my mother, her nanny, my friend.
She changed the world for nations until her end.

The lives she touched were made healthier and bright by
Lady Diana's empathetic light.

Toward the end of a book,
we tend to speed up,
in anticipation of the climatic finish.

Yet sadly,
the build-up...
was the part we savored,
on the perfect path
to the right...
final,
and everlasting
word(s).

The beginning.

Cupid

Cupid, the Flirt

			By Charles G. P. Chard 2nd
Chevra Gavri Hanita Hazaka Abir Selek 2nd

Cupid drew back his bow once more,
And found my heart with his arrow,
You came into view, just past my door,
That threw me over a barrel.

My heat knew you would be the one I would desire,
What words do I say, what steps should I take,
Perhaps with flowers, I could show its you I admire,
My words stumble out of my mouth each sound that it does make.

Should I ask you out for dinner?
Should I buy you chocolates as well?
Of my heart, you are the winner,
Sweeter as a rose to my cent, it your smell.

How can I express the love I feel inside?
You are like no one else I’ve ever known,
How long can I hold back these feeling I hide?
And let this love I fell for you be shown,

I feel so impatient from time to time,
I need things between up to speed up,
Yet I must take things slow and wait for a sign,
That you feel the same way, and your love fills my cup.

O Cupid, why did you do such a thing?
For I feel so vonerible, and hope not to be hurt,
As you fly around with those arrows and wings,
Is love nothing to you but a flirt?

Nearing the End

When I’m reading a novel
And nearing the end,
(Especially one that
I would recommend),

I want to speed up
So I finally know
Where the author was leading
Through ebb and through flow.

On the other hand, I’d like
To slow it all down,
‘Cause when I reach the end,
I’ll be wearing a frown

Since I must bid farewell
To the characters whom
Feel like friends I know well
Though our parting ways loom.

The pages I’ve turned
And the chapters perused
Have left me intrigued
And provoked and enthused.

But at last, when I know
That the end’s drawing nigh,
I reluctantly finish
And say my goodbye.

Life In 100 Words

Then...
Born amongst confusion
Orphaned
Left behind
Lost the ones I love
Life was a hot potato
No family
Imagination was my only true friend
In the sky
Crashed in a new land
Unknown
Scared
New faces
Made friends
Lost friends
Found love in music
Found love in writing
Found where my soul belonged
Now...
I am older
I want to be immature
I want to be childish
Life should be new
Grateful for the opportunities
Grateful for the chance at life
Life can slow down
Life can speed up
I cherish every moment
Cause it may never happen again
Tomorrow...

Path We Persue

Life as understood by many resembles a journey traveled in a daze.
yet you feel lost, we can't help but carry on.
As we travel up the hill not knowing whats on the other side,
where the next curve begins, when to speed up,
or when to slow our pace.
Even as it seems at times we are blindfolded at very least,
human nature tells us to keep pushing through.
our best interest at that time is to put the path of life on hold,
and asses our situation. Even if common sense makes you believe it would be difficult
or even impossible to resume the path started so long ago.
When it all seems impossible or hopelessness stares you in the eye.
Now is the time to grasp our greatest tool in life, just as God said let their be light.
let our light be the knowledge and support of your friends & family.
Use this and not even the devil himself can use his power and influence to corrupt us.
When we have 100% faith in ourselves combined with love for all that is good and pure.
And the hope that our destiny is not being pursued in vain.
Only positive results are to be found.
If u reach hard towards your soul and gather the will to strike down all that is negative.
Then and only then do the clouds disperse the sun becomes radiant
and all becomes clear. And the realization that our goal is in our grasp once again.
so before i put this pen down and carry on with my quest of surprises
and not knowing whats to come.
a prayer has been said guidance has been asked,
and a sense of relief is then achieved.

Blue Marlin

It was my birthday and my partner wanted to take a trip to Mazatlan,
on the coast of Mexico. We decided to go deep-sea fishing so the next day.
We got up very early and headed to the beach. We were in a small
boat with two other men. We started out and the driver had hooked up
our lines with leuers as big as my forearm. Well within one hour we hooked
an eleven foot sail-fish, the beautiful beast took about 45 minutes to capture
after putting up an admirable fight we landed him and put him inside the boat.
As he died I remember his beautiful blue color turned to black. It wasn't
pleasant, I felt a tinge of guilt because they were not eatable but only stuffed
for show. I could just imagine how ridiculous this giant fish would look on my
small apartment wall,

We continued on our excursion and not even an hour later we hook another fish...
who ever thought it would be the fisherman's dream...a blue marlin. This required
some strength so the five of us took turns reeling her in. The marlin would jump
out of the water and the captain would speed up the boat in her direction allowing
us to reel the line in faster. Well we played this sordid game for five hours until the
marlin died of exhaustion. Now dead it floated to the top of the water, black instead
of blue from the loss of oxygen. We tied him to the side of the boat...he was over
eleven feet and weighed 750 lbs. The captain hung out the blue flag and we drove
back to shore to be welcomed by many from the small town. We were instant
celebrities but my guilt was getting the best of me. How or why did I just kill
these two beautiful animals, just for sport! ...barbaric.

The One Percent

The One Percent

I have outgrown longevity
and poverty has taken the best of me
and now I am an indigent hack
I stopped dying my long hair black
it would wise to speed up my demise
to smoke , imbibe and pack away carbs
to swill the wines of Government need
to live my life without despair
then die for no one else will care
Theres nothing more for me to fear
but then we have Obamacare
Someone has bought your American Dream
and collectively bargained the Unions out
who created the once known Middle Class
which is now replaced with American Greed

How much money can you spend
until you reach the bitter end
for helping somene can go far
In the scheme of life of
how much is enough
avoid the third martini at the bars
limit yourself to just five cars
The French Riviera is no more nearer
Then Deerfield Beach in your area
think of all the dough you’ll save
to pay a tax for the struggling knave
or someday you’ll lose everything
and say to yourself what have I done
To join into the paupers fun(d)

This is NOT a political poem-just satirical fun

Premium Member Wrote a Note To Santa

The day drags its feet, despite my efforts to speed up its pace. I got up late, so that I could sleep away the morning hours, aiming for a shorter day. Yet it’s only half past ten and I’ve already eaten breakfast and put my dishes in the sink. Glaring at the clock for the umpteenth time, doesn’t help, it just keeps on ticking away; yet I swear that it hasn’t budged since the last time I looked. I already tidied up my room, and picked up last years toys. And I’ve even put some milk and cookies out, hung my stocking up over the fireplace and wrote a note to Santa; yet it’s only noon, now what? What am I going to do for the next eight hours? Why does it always take forever for sleep to come, when Christmas day is the next day?

Cloudy skies explode into puffs of snowy flakes,
Harbingers of excitement and sweet sugar cakes.
Ringing bells peal and chime, blessing this joyous day,
Invitations to celebrate Jesus's birthday.
Santa's reindeer are all set for their flight tonight
To deliver presents; to every child's delight.
Mommies and daddies are all smiles and hugs of love,
As youngsters eagerly search the skies above.
Slumber fuels dreams of elves and a flying sleigh,

Dozing off to sleep, while awaiting Christmas day.
All the months of waiting will soon be at an end,
Yuletide spirits filling hearts as fun and faith blend.
