Notes About The Poem

Reader Rabbit

Reader Rabbit

Toward the end of a book,
we tend to speed up,
in anticipation of the climatic finish.

Yet sadly,
the build-up...
was the part we savored,
on the perfect path
to the right...
final,
and everlasting
word(s).

The beginning.

I do love when a story comes together. Nothing worse than a disappointing ending after the delight of a good premise. Have a great day.

Ann, So special the book that holds attention long after the read. And too the dedicated poet who dined and dreamed on every word. -Richard

I am almost always disappointed in the ending. Books end abruptly, and the loose ends are not always tied, so I can readily relate to this Ann.

Love your title and how it works in this reflective poem, Ann. Thanks for making --no helping!--me think. ~ Paige Turner
