Best Soul Stirring Poems
Too long I limped along a lonely road, born into this Sahara desert of a life,
parched and hungry, face weathered and gaunt.
A deaf, dumb, and blind man, drawn and quartered by her knife,
back tarred and feathered by a vulture's taunt.
I searched the wide world for your wonderful smile,
tired soul devoid of that whole, found wanting of the other half.
Try to find the right words, after each lost and lonely mile,
my sorrows washed away by that sweet, infectious laugh.
Like hopeless romantic's lot, who climbed out of a dark place,
beyond my wildest dreams, I finally found you.
Yet daft was I to hear not., your prayer for love's embrace..
as two hearts lifted in love were bound to.
When last moon fades, no more hopeless romantics left,
and strings of sanguine hearts untwine.
I will hold on to memory's tender touch yet,
and all the warm days when you were mine.

Prose Poetry
Oh, with great delight, from
out of the shadowy night, I hear
a loud, powerful melody drifting
such a mournful song
with a chant soul-stirring
a songster with whistles that crescendo
trills, chirping, twittering and gurgles, concerto lovely
that sends my own soul on a journy into the depths of my mind, for
beautiful memories
and faraway dreams yet to come . . .

Kiss by the Passing Breeze of Awakening
Dust of divine whimsy
Flutters softly on unconscious cheeks
With ephemeral dawning
Fleeting like the flash of silver sandals
In moonlight - here then hidden -
Stepping out of the opaque
Soul stirring from oblivious daydreams
Stepping into moments of classical
Lavender-rose moments.
The leaven of breezes in stardust essence
Flares in lambent clarity
Caches of chimera, that drain the heartbeat,
Shrivel in bursts of cheeky shooting stars.
Aroused from the depths of sleepwalking,
Grace notes float on rose scents
Harvested in potpourris for strangled screams
Scrambling through midnight fogs,
Sentience revisits in soft swirls
Awareness, roused by reveille,
Stirs caressed codas in soft preludes,
Awakes in fresh mindful raptures
Nurtured by a passing angel kiss.

Verse
I found my soulfulness
at an early age. My depth
of spirit, creativity, self awareness
is free flowing. In written words, deep
inspired poetry allows touching
emotions to be. To drift. To float.
Constant soul-searching of my inner life fervor _
Meaningful poems release weeping sorrow
and pain. I let go of my reflections from the past,
the very essence of me. I lay each
sorrowful and sad word bare. Bleeding. Upon a
white page of paper. I create spiritual poems. Poems
of my faith and beliefs, words heartbroken and weary.
Poems full of tears. I lay open my heart and my inner
soul stirring soulfulness.

TO A POETIC TIME LAPSE
As the sharp rays
of sunlight slowly sliced
through the tarrying tinted clouds,
I wiped away the web
of darkness of night;
broke off a piece of time
and used it to scrape away
the corrosion of agony
from the heart of my mind...
and resuscitated my eroded faith.
Today I will open
dusty luggage of creativity
and pull out wrinkled war worn words:
etch ebony emotions of long lived life
onto refined pulp of trees;
weave soul stirring songs;
mould scented flowers
of peace and love; justice...
feel the breath of God
warming my serene sweet soul
while feathering the nest
of my pregnant poetic mind.

I view my hand. I see an ancient land.
A melanomic crater, deep in the desert,
speaks of greedy sun-soaked days.
Wanton then. Gone now.
Sparse wispy palm trees cluster,
storm ravaged, angled randomly,
now almost invisible,
now silver in the light.
Ravines compressed in lines
symmetrical, as from space,
appearing geometric,
requiring translation,
needing understanding,
awaiting exploration.
Ahead, beyond the fault line,
mountains expand and converge,
blue-edged and rising high
above the sandy plain, sinuous,
majestic, uncharted.
Stretching and contracting
as wrinkled parchment
in a shoreline breeze,
pointing the way to the long journey’s end.
Translucent and yes still beautiful.
A multitude of moments
has slowly wrought such change.
Soul-stirring eloquence silently tells
of times and deeds long past,
though yet concealing secrets deep,
of silken dreams within a lover’s sleep,
and memories of a sweet caress,

Layers of limestone set the stunning stage
Where waters rumble and tumble
Dance and prance
Like a woman whose flowing white hair is let loose
All aglow with a million diamond studs
Of shimmering sunbeams
Under a viridescent baldachin,
Cascading and serenading,
The soft hum of aquatic thrum
Showcase a dazzling display,
Nature’s way
Of revealing soul-stirring artistry,
Reminding mortals of God’s Divine Touch.

Imagism
Dew slips down the gentle leaf,
Unburdened by the sunlight’s reflecting
Grace over the mountains, misty
With remembrance, beautiful like the burning
Wonder of a painting, only these colors
Can’t be created by any hand other than the One
Who created the stars, the dew, the sun…
The One who created grace for everyone
Secreted beneath a fog, misty moments
Surrounding the ridges, blue and gray like mysteries
Echoing softly, sensations remembering
Prayers and praises, preventing the melancholic
Sensitivities, flames of forever pouring over the mountains,
Healing the past with tender sighs, blessings
Erasing the doubts and bringing joy to the colors,
The soft flow of blues and purples, green that inspires
Such delicate kisses, touching the spirit with gentle,
Kindness embracing the entire memory,
Containing all the hope of a life built by His hand,
Creatively, amazingly, crazily the plan… His plan
Rain drenched words peel back layers of laughter,
Soothing the soul – stirring up the smiles,
In ways that can’t be described, intense like the passions
Felt by artists, extreme – unspeakable, powerful
Thirsts for the moments when wonders are like wildfires
Pouring over the forests, chasing away every thought
With wisdom, glowing on the edges of the heart –
Still, cool dreams and feelings, expressed by thoughts
Who believe in the music played by heaven’s sweetness,
Arousing souls to dance, free and graceful, like the wind
Who frees the spirit to believe in His everlasting peace,
The melody expressed by the purity of praise,
The promise of His grace silencing the dread, the dark
With a love that lingers, lighting the heart!

Soul
Breaking
Lies whispered,
Seeking escape,
Soaked in caged deceit;
Mimes mocking withering
Posies, left parched and sundered—
Suspended beneath obscured dusks,
Dripping amidst blinding aftermaths,
Idly shadowed by lewd scars of talons
Amidst alcoves of echoing nocturnes
Unshackled by your sweet afterglow,
Healing me with the elixir
Of our dawning horizons,
Strumming eurythmic tunes,
Suppressing starless
demons, betwixt
Soul-stirring
Destined
Love.

Etheree
On a ship
Poet (Po)
Reason (Re)
Po: Look at the billow of the sails,
the sea, its black and blue hails.
Re: I’ve seen it before, even now and again.
I miss the pines outside my window pane.
Po: The sea kicked back for you and me,
flapping and fraternizing with the enemy.
Re: Even dandelions, even their seeds…
painted onto my eyes…even the weeds…
Po: Banish your thoughts of land and its blubber.
Enjoy the fishy smell of salt and deck scrubber.
Re: You’ll think differently if today we drown.
Curtains could be drawn, take us down.
Po: But I hear the wind’s bells and sea carols;
the mesmerizing squall without perils.
Re: Hide the sound from your ears, Poet.
Beautiful sirens and sharks know it.
Po: The lyrics drape over the sides, and embark,
sad and true, surely don’t lie, moon’s watermark.
Re: What a fool with your measuring rod, the rings
will tatter, split this boat into a raft without wings.
Po: Embraceable you…this mermaid is playful.
Her and her lullaby friends, my mind they fill.
Re: I fear the tidal wave, its cloth, our shroud.
The ripcord and undertow, of teeth, are loud.
Po: Auld rhymes and runes have lured me into the sea.
I’ll just lie back and listen to the soul-stirring poetry.
Re: I see now, I’ve learned my lesson too late.
Leave the poet on the shore. Don’t wait!
Po: O the climax of this sensual score. It is certain
our sea-harem will be unveiled beyond the curtain.

Verse
I hear her
When, in stillness – peace,
She surrounds me with her promises,
Light, mist on the morning, hope
Lifting away all the doubt, the darkness
With a feeling, a soul stirring scream
I hear her
Beating, in rhythm – harmonizing,
She echoes in reflections of sweet joy,
Soft, erasing all the night’s stardust dreams,
Inspiring me to give my best, my heart
To the moments of laughter, the scream
I hear her
Dancing, in tune – waltzing,
Breathing hope through the spirit,
Singing as the leaves whisper, falling
Autumn remembering summer’s hesitation
To hide behind the beautiful, blood curdling scream
I hear her
When, at noon – cloudless skies
Embrace the earth, tempting, satisfying
Reassuring the soul that together with time
We can arrive at our destination, our finish
Pouring out forever in the spirit’s the scream
I hear her
Gifting my heart with light, intense
Feelings so gentle, so giving, so willing
To agree with second thoughts, the secret
Hopes flooding, flowing through the brilliance
A love that agrees, passionate, a scream
I hear her
Like melancholy and memory, singing
The rich, cool alto – then soprano, notes
Pure gold, God’s voice pleading with us all
Nature, forever – endless treasures of hope
Foreseeing the everlasting life, in the wildness of a heart
– the scream, fading into destiny, graceful
Like a peace that can’t be seen or touched
The scream is anxious and floods the hopes
With winds that blow through the oaks
Satisfying the blossoms, the laurels and pines,
Preparing hearts for reality’s chime, the vibrant highs
Determined by the blood curdling scream of sunset’s trembling
Blending with endless feelings…
Blessing away the scream’s repeating over the ridges,
Soundless, yet – still resonating such an ache
Fleeting heartbreak, yearning for the peace that comes
With the dawn, the serenity that takes
Away the scream’s raspy voice, it’s exasperating grating
The scream… it drains the wish from the dreamer

There's nothing better than a trumpet, trombone, and sax.
Screaming out tight tones on full blast.
Synched and tuned to make our hair stand up.
Cracking all glass products around the club.
Then, a sweet-talking flute comes in underneath.
Followed by a little Lee Oscar, the harmonic beast.
Damn!!! That would sound good. Music to my ears.
The soul-stirring sound that'll bring a man to tears..........

Couplet
In silence where no echoes roam,
Before the stars were carved in dome,
Before the seas had learned to swell,
There stirred a Light no tongue could tell.
Not born of flesh, nor bound by clay,
Nor measured in the light of day—
The soul emerged, so pure, so still,
Breathed from the depths of Heaven’s will.
A whisper from the Heart Divine,
A spark of love through sacred line.
No greater truth was ever known—
That we were never, ever alone.
The soul, a flame without a name,
Fell gently like a golden flame.
It kissed the womb of space and dust,
Entrusting all with sacred trust.
It wrapped in form, forgot its flight,
Became a child of day and night.
It laughed, it wept, it broke, it bled,
Yet felt a pull from Light ahead.
A homesick ache within its chest,
A yearning not for food or rest,
But for the arms that once embraced,
The Source it knew, the Face it faced.
Through lifetimes layered thick with pain,
Through joy, through loss, through sun and rain,
It carried deep, though buried far,
A memory of who we are.
Then came the hour the veil grew thin,
When grace awakened truth within—
A voice, not heard but deeply felt:
“You are the Light in which I dwelt.”
“You are no orphan of the stars,
No wandering ghost with shattered scars.
You are My breath, My sacred gleam,
A verse within My endless dream.”
And in that touch, the soul could see
It wasn’t bound, it had the key.
The chains were thoughts, the walls were fear—
But God had always been so near.
The soul then bloomed in quiet grace,
With tears that washed the inner space.
It rose in love, and there it knew—
Its home was not a place, but Who.
So now it walks with softest tread,
With stars above and Light ahead.
And in its chest, it holds indeed—
The bloom of God—The Divine Seed.

Rushing Waters Stir The Soul
The water rushed by with a glow
its journey's end few may know
Just a long creek flowing west
deep into wetlands I knew best
Sunny morns I visit to renew
stir heart, wipe away the blue
Sounds so pleasing to my ears
comforting sights easing fears
Fish flopping all about in play
soul stirring sight this day
Kingfisher diving for a feast
Sun rising swifting in the East
Trees wrapping its gentle banks
my heart and soul giving thanks
Another dream I hold in my mind
of Nature and this scenic find!
