Best Sore Throat Poems

Premium Member I'Ve Caught a Cold

Sneeze, sneeze, sneeze, sneeze
Oh I wish my sore throat would ease

Razor blades of pain are shredding my throat
And I’ve got so much snot I could launch a boat

My nose is as red as Rudolph’s and it’s oh so sore
I’m feeling achy and miserable this cold I simply do abhor

My temperature is high – I’m having a hot flush
I look a terrible mess; my hair is in need of a brush

Guess I will have to smile when hubby says I’m ‘hot’
Good job he loves me whether I look a wreck or not

Premium Member Wildflowers

Wildflowers are uncultivated vegetation.
In forests and towns growing without cultivation.

Like most they are used in home medication.
Dandelions are nutritious and can ease pain's vexation.

Fever few staves off migraine attacks while,
Low immune is boosted by berries and chamomile.

Our bloating and gas is helped by chamomile tea,
While sore throat pain is helped with a bit of honey.

Eucalyptus oil can help make sinus pain moot.
Retaining water and PMS, try some chaste tree fruit.

Send out for a book on natural cures.
Don't poison yourself with drugs bought in stores.

Premium Member Bitter Journey Home

Chewing garlic in the evening
	helps a sore throat.
Garlic will not kill a rat.
The sun kills,
	shining against the eye;
it is both enemy and friend.

There is enmity between
	the sun and man.
Beams dance by the window sill
	and sparkle like rain
	against old wood.
The old man leaves the house
	to visit the grave
        of his late wife.

His grizzled hair and foul breath
	blows like a trumpet.
He prays to the sun god,
	but receives no answer,
	only a bitter taste
	of resignation.

A rat crosses his path like some demon.
He throws a front kick,
	then totters,
	tripping on a vine
	as he moves along.
The vine is a snake of green and brown,
	twisted, gnarled
	like a calloused palm.

Soon he must head home.
It is evening and the day is dimming
	like a short wick.
The old man is dim of mind and feeble.
His limbs carry many wounds
	like thorns.
Surely sleep will restore his memory.
Surely he will find his way home.

Listening Closer To Myself

I give to you...
And you gave to me...
A rash, a fever, headache and the Flu...
I told you not to go without a coat...
And now you’ve got a very bad sore throat...
With fever and pain in all your muscles...
Coughing and sniffles, with draining from nostrils...
Tissues scattered all over the floor...
Bottles and pills from the drugstore...
Chicken soup is what I recommend...
But a sandwich also you did command...
And how about some chips and a nice cold brew...
For days I made you a priority...
Your every whim took seniority...
And then it happened, I started to sweat...
Became lethargic, and better yet...
You were over your bout with the Flu...
As I plopped my body onto the bed...
You stated you were going out to get something to eat...
So I could get some well deserved sleep...
As you closed the door, I heard you say...
Call me when you get better, OK ?
And that’s what brings me here today...
Perhaps I should listen closer to what I say...
" You should take better care of yourself ! “

Pills Pills Pills

Headache? Pop some pills!
Fever or for any of your ills -
Sore throat? Running nose?
Backache? Joint pain?
Bad bowl moment? Sleeplessness?
Low libido? Birth control? Weight loss?
Feeling blue? Under the weather?
You are cranky and pain in the neck?
Yep, your answer is pills!
U-haul a load of pills along.

High Cholesterol? Low Cholesterol?
High or low blood plessure?
Feeling dizzy? Want to feel high?
Going crazy? Pump up your muscles?
Excel in school? Excel in sports?
Date pills, LSD, Viagra, Speed,
Sugar pills, Heart pills - You name it.
And, pills to knock you out cold!

But do we have a pill to live life right?
A joy pill? A pill for happiness?
A love pill? A pill for peace?
A pill for faith?
A pill for knowledge?
A pill for wisdom?
A pill to appear likable?
A pill for compassion?

If I have a choice,
I'll pick a crystal ball pill
and take a peek into my future -
If not years ahead, just into tomorrow,
Or a pill to disappear into thin air
and escape my pain and sorrow!

Feeling Rough

Feeling Rough

Sore throat, runny nose,
Could be a cold I suppose,
Or could it be influenza?
I think I need a detox cleanser

Turmeric, folic acid, gingko leaf
I'm feeling rough beyond belief
High B.P. and heart attack
Been called a hypochondriac

Gout in toe, earache
I never know what to take
Rheumatism in both knees
That Ibuprofen gel seems to ease

All my ailments could fill a page
My greatest one is called old-age

Buttercups are dancing to singing daffodils
King Neptune, with his trident, is surfing down a hill
Rabbits playing hopscotch with rainbow coloured frogs
Snails with sparkly spinning shells slither along gold logs.

Wolves in sheep's clothing are bleating nonstop,
Four hyenas harmonise, in a barbers shop.
Centipedes were newly crowned; Kings Of Tug Of War
While spiders spin silk candy floss for their online store.

A pony with a sore throat, was sounding rather hoarse
Moles queued to play nine rounds on Trumps new golf course.
The parrot kept repeating the same unfunny joke
The magician did his magic tricks with a talking cloak.

I came across a chip tree, surrounded by a moat
Where fish were reading newspapers in a paper boat
The moat is filled with batter and when a fish goes in,
A sudden blast of dragon's breath, cooks and seals the fish within.

I thanked a praying mantis, who had taught me self-defence
Only then to realize, none of this made any sense.
I blamed it on the late night snack before I went to bed
Then said goodnight, to the squid, that's curled around my head.

Poorly Giraffe

Lofty was a very large giraffe
he got ill from standing in a draught,
got a very sore throat
and sounded like a goat
funny to see a giraffe look daft.

Riddle

If a giraffe
with a sore throat
is worst
than a centipede
with a sore feet

What is worst
than a homeless
spider ?

Wiggly Worms

Wiggly Worms

They took out both tonsils and each adenoid
And now another sore throat I cannot avoid
There is nothing with left to collect the germs
Which once were dangling and wiggling worms.

Stopped complaining and conclusion came to
Very sharp object is someone's point of view
Once was lost and then looked all over town
Until finally soon it had been narrowed down.

Chuckle, chuckle, laugh, laugh and then smile
Does seem to be my great and glorious style
And to accept British Isle's beauty did refuse
We both did decide to go on a destined cruise.

Then that was when I soon started to see
All the others were laughing along with me
When I started wanting to take a shower
Never could find one in the London Tower.

Was freezing outside and we grabbed our coat
And soon started back in our beautiful boat
We both looked back at beautiful British Isles
No wonder we were wearing so many smiles.

When You Die, What Will You Be Remembered For

"In These Days, We Prayed"

19/04/2019

*************************

On this journey, we call life,
We are all survivers.
Striving daily,
Hoping for another life.

But time,
And the time cometh for us also to die.
When you pass away
What will you be remembered for?

Of stakes, in deeds
Of love or hate
Of either good or evil
When you do pass away,
What will you be remembered for?

Dirges at funeral sites
One moment of silence observed,
Then, altogether We forget the dead,
To truly die.

As memories
Are blisters on a sore throat.
And Dreams,
Nightmares when a sisters body bloat.

We will all die
Later or Sooner,
We never really know when or how.
Yes! We are but men.
So when you do pass away
What will you be remembered for ?

Ebola 1

Everyone needs to be conscious to stay safe or alive
Because Ebola(named after a river)virus ravages with a mission to kill,
Often hand washing with soap or alcohol burns like grill,
Loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhoea, sore throat, fever are imminent.
Animal vectors like bats should not be consumed which is very pertinent.

November Can Be So Rude

What a dreary midnight November
Nitrate toxicity this New York City
It should never have happened

Our first winter snow, what a low blow
Congestion, Cough, Runny Nose, Sore Throat
Bengay , Dayquil and Nightquil

Night come early
The dawn cometh late
Ice on the dash board
And the Mailman always late

No wood in the furnace
No white throated sparrow to sing a song
The earth is constantly shifting. “My God How long
To stressed out to sleep
Oh how I love my cup of
Soothing Ginger tea

Why must we suffer?

BOAT RIDE BY GOAT

A goat wore white satin coat,
not calling due to sore- throat.
It hired wooden boat to float.

Depth of stream was hundred fathoms.
Water entered through hole at bottom.

Boat sank slowly what to do!
Goat swam to bank as I knew.
So! I must stop my rhyme too.

Premium Member Oo He Makes Me Wheeze

Such a handsome, rugged man I met
Saw his photo on the Internet
     He drove a hundred miles
     So we could exchange smiles
Just one kiss, I was caught in his net

His cigar smoke wafted with the breeze
But once indoors, I began to sneeze
    My eyes started to tear
Sore throat I could not clear
Now I hear him snoring as I wheeze

His drinking is really not so bad
But my lungs suffer more than a tad
Each time he lights one up
    I don a filter cup
To enjoy the pure air I once had
