Premium Member Music Take Me Back

When I'm blue and need something to make me smile
I can turn on my forty fives and listen for a while
Jimmy Gilmer sang about a Sugar Shack
Holding hands, walking down that railroad track
Then I let the music take me back.

Take me back to a time when love was new
Take me back to a time when skies were blue
When we could catch that falling star
Make love in the back seat of my car
Music, oh sweet music, take me back

Doo-wop memories touched my soul
Mixed with the early days of rock and roll
I close my eyes and through the haze
I see sunshine and better days
Music take me back to those times again.

There was Bandstand on TV in black and white
Radio on 'til you fell asleep at night
There were dances at the school
And swimming in the community pool
Music take me back, let me remember when.

Did we believe those days would forever last
Were things so much better in the past
I dream of days when a movie
Meant kissing in the balcony
Music take me back, let my heart roam.

It seems like a thousand years ago
We found true love and watched it grow
I know this is where my heart belongs
When I listen to those songs
Music take me back, please take me home.

Pandora's Box

you opened your eyes but closed your mind
oblivious to dreams I kept inside
you saw the package but not the treasure
all of those late nights we were together

you spent the passion but saved your heart
keeping those two things far, far apart
nothing ever ventured, nothing ever gained
so good at keeping it all self-contained

you pulled the ribbon opening Pandora's box
you twisted the key in a rusty lock
you wound the toy just a little too tight
leaving in haste when you saw the red light

I thought I had it under control
I could play the game and you'd never know
you were much smarter than I thought
you saw the ruse right from the start

gently, you tried to let me down
distancing me with silent sounds
what you couldn't see--failed to understand
I knew your game but couldn't outrun your plan

you pulled the ribbon opening Pandora's box
you twisted the key in a rusty lock
you wound the toy just a little too tight
leaving in haste when you saw the red light

I could see your future and I wasn't a part
you weren't completely honest when we started
I knew there was another, but not the whole connection
how you had already promised your love and affection

so as we go forward with an uneasy truce
bury what's dead between me and you
no tourniquet will completely ever stop my bleed
you'll say you didn't promise to be what I need

you asked me once if the wound was still deep
you can figure that out in this song if you read
what starts with white lies, ends sadly with truth
it ebbs and then flows with each phase of the moon

you pulled the ribbon opening Pandora's box
you twisted the key in a rusty lock
you wound the toy just a little too tight
leaving in haste when you saw the red light

Unanswered Poems

Don’t send me more
Of your tragic poems
My dear
Covered in blood
Of your monthly flood
Of tears

Don’t send me more
Of your angry poems
My dear
Carved with the knife
Of your molten spite
And fears

I’m just a peddler
With a cart
Bringing discount words
To hearts
Broken hearts across the land
Woman left without her man
Broken hearts throughout the world
Anguished boy and crying girl

Your poetry’s too heavy, dear
For me to read, for me to bear
Your poetry’s too heavy, dear
For me to get from here to there

Don’t send me more
Of your bitter poems
My sweet
Forged in the fire
Of your endless ire
And grief

Don’t send me more
Of your hopeless poems
My sweet
Ripped from the womb
Of the lonely room
You keep

I’m just a peddler
With a cart
Bringing discount words
To hearts
Broken hearts across the land
Woman left without her man
Broken hearts throughout the world
Anguished boy and crying girl

Your poetry’s too heavy, dear
For me to read, for me to bear
Your poetry’s too heavy, dear
For me to get from here to there

(You see that shadow on the road
Trudging ‘neath its heavy load
A heart weighed down by sands of time
And your poems only make him cry
And he won’t add them to the pile
So he can walk another mile)

(And he won’t add them
To the pile
So he can walk
Another mile)

Too heavy, dear
Too heavy, dear
For me to read
For me to bear

(They make him sad
Make him cry
Beat him down
Deep inside)

Too heavy, dear
Too heavy, dear
For me to read
For me to bear

They make me sad
Make me cry
Feel as though
I want to die

(And he won’t add them
To the pile
So he can walk
Another mile)

Too heavy, dear
Too heavy, dear
For me to read
For me to bear

(A heart weighed down
By sands of time
And your poems
Only make him cry)

Too heavy, dear
Too heavy, dear
For me to read
For me to bear

Scatter My Ashes

Scatter my ashes
You can't keep them here
I know you've got me in stashes
Just let go my dear

Keep our memories
Say good-bye to my body
Please be at ease
Say good-bye to my body

I'll save you a place
Up here in heaven
I'm surrounded by grace
Up here in heaven

No need to worry
I found my way home
Clear your eyes so blurry
There's no need to roam

Scatter my ashes
You can't keep them here
I know you've got me in stashes
Just let go my dear

Watch Me Die

The petals of a rose, they tremble and they fall
Just like my aching heart, my backs against a wall
so I Scream- but no one seems to hear me
(and) I Bleed- but no one seems to worry
(and) I Cry- but no one spares a passing glance
(and) I Die- no one seems to care

My mask, it melts away
as the flames burn through my bones, the pain it never fades
and its worse because i know the angels are not here to save me
everthing but you hates me
and im stuck with all this trapped inside
Im forced to sit and watch me die

Im in an empty room...
all hope disenegrates.
nothing left to do but get drunken, high
im willing to do anything just to get by

so I Scream- but no one seems to hear me
(and) I Bleed- but no one seems to worry
(and) I Cry- but no one spares a passing glance
(and) I Die- no one seems to care

My mask, it melts away
as the flames burn through my bones, the pain it never fades
and its worse because i know the angels are not here to save me
everthing but you hates me
and im stuck with all this trapped inside
Im forced to sit and watch me die
Im forced to sit and watch me die

Would You Like To Know a Psycho?

If you’d like to know a psycho
Then come along with me
And I will paint you a picture
Of the psycho of the east;
Not your ordinary psycho
She’s a new breed;
On your emotions,
She loves to feed
A life led by drama
Driven by any cost
Never any remorse
For the lives that she lost;
A new person each day
Her characters she plays
Are really very bright
She has the brains,
But absolutely no insight
Not a clue to life
She will always walk blind
Drugs, sex, money, hate
Mess with her and get a court date
If her games you want to play
Then a hefty price you will have to pay
But I did not back down from thee
The cost for court is just a fee
But in order for me to defend my rights
Then in this court we will fight
In front of the bench
She against me
Who will be found innocent?
And who will be guilty
But oh to her surprise
And time after time
Cases are dismissed
And we’re wasting too much time
The fight gets ever brutal
As children are involved
Anything to hurt us
Driven at any cost
The emotional abuse
And brainwashing galore
Left me with wanting to stop her
But then I wanted more;
Not a mother on earth
Or none that deserve to be
Would ever treat their children
As evil as she
Other people maybe
Ex’s without a doubt
But the way she scared them kids
Made me want to put her down
She tortured them with mind games
In court she likes to play
But when she challenged me
She surely woes the day!
The psychos challenge was accepted
And I gladly played with glee
For every claim she made
My defenses came in three
And when she’d exhausted all lies
And stories had all been told
Out of the defense corner
I came standing bold
My evidence against her
Could make the whole city see
That this woman is psycho
And from her all should flee
Dangerous and venomous
A hazard to your health
If she can’t beat you in court
She’ll threaten you with death
I don’t take the psycho lightly
I know she is serious as can be
But as long as I’m around
She’ll have to get passed me!

I Wonder

What if I confessed my love to you,
Tell me just what would you do?
Would you match my heart with yours
Or would you leave me lost and torn?

What if you found you felt the same
And had only fate to blame?
Tell me just how far would you reach
For you to prove that love to me?

I am but a man
With love in mind and heart at hand.
Would you take this gift from me
In your hands or set it free?

All of these questions fill my mind,
But I know my deeds will come back in my own time.
And still I wonder why I can find no sympathy in these lines.
Tell me why, these thoughts have consumed life.
Sometimes I wonder, sometimes I wonder.

If chose to walk away
Would you beg me to stay?
Would you run after me
If I felt I had to leave?

Or would stay behind
And carry on with your own life?
Could you forget just what we had
And send me off to some unknown land?

As a memory I would have to stay.
Sometimes I wonder if
It would be better of that way.
Sometimes I wonder why
I can't find sympathy in these lines.

Still I wonder why: I am but a man
With love in mind and heart at hand.

All of these questions fill my mind.
But I know my deeds will come back in my own time.
And still I wonder why I can find no sympathy in these lines.
Tell me why, these thoughts have consumed life.
I still wonder why with love in mind and heart and hand.

Premium Member Walking Shoes

I’m tired of you.
Back stabbing me and not keeping it true.
Deceiving and lying
When I caught you, here comes the fake crying
The sad bedroom eyes hiding behind a guilty face
The phony kisses and the warm embrace
What you hide in the dark always come out in the light
Sometimes our secrets we thought we hid is revealed in our own sight
You claimed you loved me
But it’s more like you hate or envy me
If you really don’t love me just let me be
Everyday I tried, believe me I prayed
But I hope you don’t think you’re here to stay
I even loved you when you did not love me
“So why are you still with me?”
So take your shoes and go
Don’t tie up your laces so slow
Remember I gave you love when nobody else would
I even took away your doubts that every man is no good
“Shush don’t say nothing don’t even talk.”
Just take your shoes and walk

Lady, Don't say I didn't try to warn ya
But I'm taking this thumb all the way to California
I'm just gonna go
Even though I love you so
Got a ramblin' urge that just won't let me rest

Took my guitar and the clothes that's on my back
Got my life planned out and everything's on track
So I ask you please don't cry
Now it's time to say goodbye
I'll think of you when I settle down out west

Today's the day that I'm gonna shift my load
Leave the past behind and hit the open road
But no matter what I do
I'll still dream of you
I've got you in my heart and there you're gonna stay

If it's changes for the better I don't know
I stilll feel that it's time for me to go
Yes, we had some happy years
I don't want to see your tears
If changes come again, then I'll be back some day.

Enrico's Serenade

Like a morning breeze,
dear, I come to you
with a soft caress,
to hold you in my arms
forevermore.

Take me in your mind,
tell me you love me,
share your love tonight
to last me all the days
and through the years.

Let my arms enfold you,
let my lips to kiss you,
put my heart on fire -
a blazing flame
of sweet desire;
hold me tenderly
and soothe this soul
of mine longing for you;
forever you will be
my one true love,
my dream,
my only sweetheart
you will be.

Like a morning breeze,
dear, I come to you
with a soft caress,
to hold you in my arms
forevermore.

A Substitute For This Loneliness

Another charming woman is
sharing with me what I used
to share with you without guilt,
even without a sad feeling or thought:
to find a substitute for this loneliness...
for that deep void you left inside!

The cell phone always rang
at the end of the evening;
and I was so thrilled
to hear you at the other end:
to listen to the sweet words that were
able to turn an uncaring man
into a gentler and kinder one...
and I learned how to care!

Oh,how I long to hear that voice again,
and like a dream that needed litttle dreaming:
you came knocking on my door at dawn,
and I let you in without hesitating...
so earger to touch you like nobody could;
so impatient to invent a magical world!

Another night is coming to haunt me mercilessly
with the beautiful memories and secrets
of two close hearts loving endessly;
what other choice do I have...if not look away,
and tell myself that you don't exist in my thoughts...
to find a substitute for this loneliness?

To Late Not To Fall

Laying here in bed at night
Pulling the covers around me so tight
Watching the candlelight fire dancing
Playing wildly on my ceiling
Inching down my walls
And I think it's about time to give it my all

It's too late not to fall
You've pulled me in, heart and all
Maybe it's the wrong thing to do
Wanting to spend my life with you
May be the wrong move to make, the wrong shots to call
But now it's too late not to fall

I quietly listen to the sound of my breathing
The love struck pound of my heart beating
Like a soft secret whispering
Of mysteries between you and me

No more than this sounds through the night
But in the void of the dark there is still a light
And your love feels me with a soothing lullaby
A hypmotizing song of you and me
Engulfs me in a suductive love sea

While lying here with this all surrounding me
Past hurts I just can't remember to see
I only let go and dream
Of your promises of good things yet to come
and I anxiously wait for each and every one

It's too late not to fall
You've pulled me in, heart and all
Maybe it's the wrong thing to do
Wanting to spend my life with you
May be the wrong move to make, the wrong shots to call
But now it's too late not to fall.....

The Guilty Plead of Wings

Its so cold in here,
lifes the only thing i fear.
I can't take this much longer,
my bones are about to break.
How can any people stand this,
I feel like im digging my own grave.
I just cant take this no more,
I...

I cant breath.
I cant speak.
I cant live,
Without warning.
Please, oh, please,
Get me out,
Out of here.
But the best you can do is give me wings.

I feel so trapped up,
Im not feeling any love.
My heart turns to glass,
And my tears have turned to blood.
Everything around me shatters,
Including my very own spirit.

I cant breath.
I cant speak.
I cant live,
Without warning.
Please, oh, please,
Get me out,
Out of here.
But the best you can do is give me wings.

Dylan Echoes

You play me for stupid.
You strum me with lust
across the brass bed,
all the words lying in the dust
of an old refrain.

You play me for stupid
while your smiles suck,
fluttering eyelashes duck
down to cover this
pain in here.

The slithering stealth
of your seductions
no longer intrigues.
I play my deductions,
subtraction reaction
as you disappear
with your tambourine.

I Taught Her To Cry

{verse-1}
That pretty lady you were holding tonight
She used to be mine till I taught her to cry
You know those kisses she gave you last night
She learned that from me, I’m the other guy
And do you like the way she holds you so tight
Well that was me, I wasn’t very bright

{verse-2}
I had her giving all the love she could give
She laughed, she loved, till I taught her to cry
Guess I was wrong, the way I made her live
Then she learned something else, from some other guy
I’d just like to know, who taught her to lie
‘Cause when she did, I felt I could die

{chorus}
It was all me, who taught her those things
Taught her to love, Taught her to cry
Taught her to laugh, when she said good-bye
Just can't believe I taught her to cry

{verse-3}
Then she taught me to hurt, then taught me to cry
She taught me how, to just say good-bye
I lost it all, that night of the fight
Just can't believe, I taught her to cry
It was all me who taught her so well
Just can't believe, I taught her to cry

Repeat Chorus:
