slumbering river
reflects blue skies beneath sun
mirrors moon by night
deep in its belly
meanders along the path to
deliverance

Seeds:
You, humble vessels of eternity
That
God’s will into the core of your
Very being carry,
Hibernated wisdom you are, awaiting the
Call of nature
For
To unfold the glorious slumbering powers in you,
Materializing thus
The anticipated heavenly plan of
Miraculous life!
Oh seeds,
Teach me your secret,
I supplicate you,
Tell me how your example could
I follow
So as
The divine will, in me, never
To betray!

My Slumbering Muse
My slumbering Muse in her hidden dreams
Has slept still beside me and not stirred,
And though in shallow sleep, or so it seems,
Has not woken and spoken a single word.
Or, laying abed with me, not conceived
To enlighten me with a useful rhyme.
I ask for poetic themes to be weaved,
But my silent Muse sleeps a long, long, time.
How, then, do I arouse my resting Muse?
Shall I now, gentle, wake her with a kiss,
And whisper that her dreams hold rhymes to choose?
And to share those dreams is poetic bliss.
Or, annoyed, shall she wish her dreams to keep,
Turning to one side to resume her sleep?

I think of all the reasons
my love for you grows

Your little breathes of air
They're like descending cherry blossoms
Your rising and falling chest
It's like the lull of waves
Your flickering eyelids
Are like the songs of birds
Your peaceful face
Shines like a starry nights moon
Your tiny hands holding mine
Are like penguin families sticking close
Your smile when you awaken
Is like a glimpse of Heaven
Your love for me
Is the most precious gift I could have
Your dripping tears
Is like all the pain I have ever known
Your faith in me
Is a bond no one can sever
Your sweet, little person
It's hard to believe...
That you are my beautiful, sweet child

Peaceful slumbers arrive at later times as years do so pass...
Life's experiences has taught us all that every event in life only
flashes by to be listed in God's own records of our deeds and mis-deeds ever
shinning or in the last past!
Sleep descends on our human body of souls...
As our chambers are outdated and containing many more holes!
We will be judged for all past deeds...
God will have to judge as He continues and reads!
Spirits drift up towards the light...
Our time down here has been dreary or bright!
The hurdles in life were raised so high...
If we had wings,we would try to fly!
Cheating is only second nature...
That is our only life's on heightened stature!
If everything in life was too easy...
It would only seem so free and breezy!

Precious Baby Boy was slumbering,
In a manger once upon a time,
Adored by His parents, life sublime.
Soft-hoofed camels came lumbering, following a sign.
Three spiritual wisemen arrived,
Excited, though traveled so far,
Faith brought them to this humble stable,
Following a vibrant star,
They were welcomed in by the young family.
Where God’s own tiny Son was slumbering.
Words were unspoken, reverence felt all around
The King’s birth, was so mystically humbling.
Christian’s precious Baby, in heaven these days,
Listening to our prayers, smiling at our successes,
Sending us ideas, listening to our praise,
Inspiring us with hope, to help clean up our messes.
Our Precious Baby, earth Angel, although on earth, unseen,
Felt spiritually by those, who believe in the wondrous King.

Hard-working iron workers from Wales are slumbering now
They have earned the comfortable rest of the dead,
For years they got up in the dark and began their work
Clanging and banging iron together, forging and welding
That is all over now, their ears are quiet, and they have peace.
It was their life for over fifty years, but now they are refreshed.
Happily lingering on their cloud beds; they have earned their sleep.

Prose Poetry
There was a man from Donbas
There was a man from Donbas,
who sat on a headless ass.
"Hey! You're going the wrong way!" he did say,
"and your breath smells of foul grass."
So, moved to the States he arranged,
dreaming of the wide open plains.
There, he too rode the same headless ass
and complained the view never changed.
So, he rode north to Canada,
where pike swims in lakes over tha.
But alas, he rode the same jackass
and nearly died from hypothermia.
Now for the south, he done rode,
way down to ole el méxico.
While riding his preferred headless steed,
he complained of the same poop show.
Let this be a lesson, dear friend.
When you roam to the ends, with no happiness to lend,
and find yourself riding a headless ass,
It's not the world that offends.
You simply mounted the wrong end.
And you must change before you die from the gas.

The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Any reflection of the Democratic Party, socialists, the left, or communists is simply a coincidence.

Free verse
a cog in the wheel and a log on the fire
of dreams I hallucinate unless the days
are visions of sleepless delusions of truth
its real and surreal when nights close in
I used to be a knight in shining armour
kissing the princess after conquests won
life matured and dreams changed their way
I became chipped wood shaved into pieces
abrasions of a sculpture unfit for purpose
a brigade of chainsaws stunted my growth
the forester ruled relentlessly and debrided
what was left of saplings and torn offshoots
roots failed to spring up from the underworld
weeds’ thorns cut deep into vulnerable skin
and festering wounds oozed poison at will
one day however a creek crept up from below
viscous tears gave me a springboard from arrest
I plunged in slow motion to follow the stream
when I reached the ocean I feared to submerge
too vicious were tides and the surf sucked me in
drowned me but spat me out ‘return to sender’
still dreaming I built a beach hut by a rock pool
drift wood sea shells and white flag of surrender
octopus’ arms released me to become a dolphin
no more do I have to save the world on my own
because a small marine fairy liked my abode
fixed my anchor with love passion and kindness
the sand quakes and spray caresses our bodies
embraces night terrors adopts them as friends
for honest companions can weather the storm

A beautiful girl everyone said, relatives hushed in reverence
Sweet baby who never made a sound, surrounded by love
Slumbering on earth as she watched our reactions from heaven.
Perfectly formed tiny fists and pretty cheeks, gorgeous coloring
Trevina never opened her eyes yet impacted our lives forever

Softly she slumbers, a vision to see,
A smile on her face, serenity.
No worries or cares, no troubles in sight,
Just peaceful repose, a gentle delight.
Her snores, a gentle hum, a sweet serenade,
Cute and girlish, a symphony to aid,
My heart beats faster, my love grows anew,
In this moment, my heart belongs to you.
Though I may be nothing special, unworthy of her grace,
She sleeps beside me, a precious, trusting embrace,
Her beauty shines brighter, even in repose,
A treasure to behold, a heart that overflows.
Oh, how I'm captivated by her slumbering form,
A beauty so uncommon, a love that's sworn,
In this quiet hour, I vow to adore,
This sleeping beauty, forevermore.

Slumbering Science
A world of separate objects
Has been the province of science
For centuries following centuries..
But now an occasional shudder
Cast by an uneasy perception
That our roots in separation
Have been only a useful dream..
The dream has turned sour
And has drawn a darkened film
Over eyes..eyes seeking
Understanding in the shadows..
New discoveries find Fields
Of openness and not-knowing
Leading a few scientists to
A science clear of slumber...

Bio
In the bounded citadel of slumbering souls,
Where the search is mute and the waiting - an unwritten world,
Wrestling roots of unplanned love twist and coil,
Bursting wild in the field where reason holds no visa.
While thought slumbers under a vault of silver, unasking,
Restless hearts, unsummoned, play in the meadow of time,
Men and women, without haste, never stalking the measure of moments,
Meet like two stars, in a galaxy of feverish, secret feelings.
Among the waves of time that break their crests in silence,
Therein, suddenly, two spirits find themselves in an enchanted dance.
They do not seek, they do not hope, they do not anticipate - what will be, will be - a delight
That sprouts discreetly, in the calm, as the day wraps itself in the discreet twilight.
Thus is born love - a king and queen of happenstance,
In a realm slightly hidden from the malevolent decrees of the world,
Where cauldrons of longing are overturned, without witnesses, without companionship,
And in the chests conceal butterflies of flames, in hearts brimming with divine dreams.
This love shatters legions of conceived walls,
Like vapors raising the prisons of logic to the heavens, all.
It comes placidly, on waters of smoke, into well-watched souls,
And settles gently, never overgrown by its fate, far-reaching.
Through it, the purest of affections are revealed, without calling,
In a world where the mind lays down, in a starry night gown,
Allowing the heart to follow its course - queen over its own realm of dreams -
Special and mysterious, unexpected and unanticipated love, but never forgotten.
