heard sounds of children
singing under the golden
colorful rainbow
snap sounds of bullets flying
prayed that they all found cover

terrified to death
approached the open window
there was no one there
shells shattering nightmares haunt
strangling tight around my throat

As a Chorus of Angels, May you rest in Peace
The Almighty God will render you Justice
He will welcome you all in His Kingdom
Where there is more Liberty and Freedom.

How To Prevent School Shootings
How To Prevent School Shootings

By Elton Camp

Americans, with guns have a love affair
To speak against them, only the brave dare

Vicious school shootings don’t faze ’em
They love guns and continue to praise ’em

There is a simple solution, they say
Post guards so it won’t be that way

With...

The Children of the Sun
The lights are out tonight,
But our struggles still ignite
The hay of hope, like hearth
Amidst the cold and dark.

To the temples in the sky,
For Heaven-on-Earth we cry.
We're our own Kingdom Come,
For we're the Children of the Sun.

The sinners passing by
Might greet us with goodbye.
Is it their...

American Families Cry Out
Why must the American people keep asking why
The FBI always seems to get a Bye
When accountability for one's actions
Should be so high
Persecution of so many a- lister's stuck in the public's eyes
Though they deserve the cost of their own demise
Because we no longer just let...

A Movement
I woke up it was a sunny day
'Come for breakfast' mom would say,
I freshened up, then made my bed
Put away the books that I had read,
Just another day at school
My ride was here, my friends carpool,
We laughed and joked as friends would do
Just a regular...

Old Glory’s at half-mast today.

I wonder who just passed away?

Was it a hero from some battles past?

A dead leader whose influence lasts?

Were servicemen killed overseas,

Or humanitarians died fighting a disease?

Seems most of the time I don’t know why

The Colors only at half-mast fly.

More and...

Another mass shooting…this one in Texas…I don’t remember exactly when
because the days all run together…and there’s been 6 more since then.

We’re on a pace to break the record for mass shootings in one year…
which means there’s no place in this country we can walk into…without...

Sandy Hook Poems 1
Sandy Hook Call to Love
by Michael R. Burch

Our hearts are broken today
for our children's small bodies lie broken;
let us gather them up, as we may,
that the truth of our Love may be spoken;
then, when we have put them away
to nevermore dream, or be woken,
let...
