Return To Sender

The wind is bickering with the night
My poor house caught up in the middle
Pawing and retreating then pouncing like a cat
It drums at the windows and
Haunts a ricochet around the room
Of some rendez-vous echo where
The downtrodden beat downward
Into my valley, the new address of Lillith
Or Hydra, the war waging outside
Breaking careful silence like a train
Chuffing me slowly away with
The cars zooming in the wayside
Burnt out, the relay challenging
Me to find my own way into sleep
Depravation or a Concentration Camp
A womb must sound like this
Haunted and forboding. But, what foetus
Could ever know much better
Than to be scared out of new skin?
Calling for Hercules or a prescription
Some tablets and a glass of gin
To wipe away the world
Reentering anonymity and concentration
Camping myself in the ocean, a bag
For the dead, that little gold fish
Floating around within the carrier
Tonight, I sleep in the womb

Return To Sender

Upon the wind of love
Came the cooing dove
Trilled a song sublime
Won this heart of mine

It nestled in my hand
Via far and distant land
Eyes that spoke of you
A love so pure and true

The radiance that it gave
Placed in my soul to save
Enchantment by the song
Takes me where I belong

And I threw it to the sky
To fly the clouds so high
And upon its wings a kiss
To inform you of my bliss

And in the muse of night
I await its returning flight

Return To Sender

A lifetime crossed
A time remembered
At childhoods cost
A soul dismembered
And flesh embossed
As if surrendered
Away he’s tossed
As trash he’s rendered
Abased, his family lost
After, for cash he’s tendered
An autos fuel exhausts
Airfare paid, return to sender

Return To Sender

Return to me like nothing is wrong
Like time had no affect on me
while you were gone so long
you thought it would just be that easy

just to let you know
thats not how it works
our love can't grow
when hate stays and lurks

but the hate is your own doing
with no one to blame but yourself
so there is no way i am going
to help you drag your sins off the shelf

you will do it on your own
just like i had to do it on mine
imagine how this love could have grown
but you can just leave and know that the fault was not mine.

When he learned that one ungrateful tyke
had returned gifts that he didn't like,

Santa bet the next brat
who tried something like that

would get briquettes instead of a bike!

Draft: For the Sake of the Sender

the sheets are blank,
rumpled, crumpled

as is my mind

ink blotted, refusing to write
because it makes it real

but the fingers tap,
the neurons click

so much wanting
to be written
in that notebook

all stored
in crevices
of the mind,

in chambers
of the heart

refusing to be written

saying it loud,
so loud
that no one hears

an ear pitched sound
that only caves echo

in time, maybe

since this is
for the sake of the sender

maybe one day

it shall finally be written

Those enemy soldiers, they weren’t too well trained
They weren’t gonna take back the ground that we’d gained
But I thought I’d copped it with no shred of doubt
When that hand grenade landed in my dugout
I’m telling you boys, my resolve didn’t crack
I just pulled the pin out and threw it right back

Return To Sender

I sent a heart on face book
and it was ignored
I left a call on your landline
it was not returned
I sent a text to your cell phone
no answer ever came
I tried a yahoo message
and that went unobserved
I sent my love in a letter
two day business express
the package forwarded back to me
saying that your heart had moved

Sender of Wiife With Her Splendor

God is my sender
of wife so sweet and tender
with all her splendor

To my beautiful and lovely
wife Jill on her Birthday

Returned to Sender

Sent my friend a birthday card;
So it would not be late,
I mailed it more than one whole week
Before her special date.

Her birthday came and went and yet
She never got my card.
It had the right address and stamp,
So what could be so hard?

Today that card came back to me,
“Return to Sender” stamped.
I think the local P.O.
Really needs to be revamped.

I’ll see that friend a week from now
And hand her what I sent.
The envelope is proof, though,
Of my early-bird intent.

Be a Great News Sender

Be A Great News Sender

I do want to be a great news sender;
Of broken hearts and fences mender;
Create happiness,
With bliss and kiss,
And bring piece to world an intender.

Returned To Sender

The ultra awesome wheel of life,
And when you're dead, in spirit twice?
Returning ones remember sure,
Things they'd often learned before,
Like greed and avarice,
The gifted ones have known before,
The musican who already knows the score,
Born with the gift, amazing sure,
Past, memory rolls the dice,
Obsession was the price,
A hundred years before,
So random it seems the scene,
Be born to squalor so obscene,
Bitterly ironic, justly deemed,
4 the greedy new-born poor,
If judgement intercedes?
Does Logic key the door?
