Only life in our mortal realm
entrenches self-doubt’s stand.

People and events cripple us
with critical mirrors showing us
visuals of our ineptness.

All who are predisposed to clutching their negative blows
know doubts occurrences of fearful disturbance
	                     thoroughly unscrambles one’s confidence channel

Image deceit drips as falsely scented,
mixed with drops of fictive doubt,
to kidnap our splendid potential.

On and off, our truth wrestles doubt’s absolutes.
Since youth, most have fought that gloomy devil.

Late autumn afternoon
on the beach a broken branch
sways to the overtures
of lapping waves, contemplating
on whether to trust again after
the pain of wind’s betrayal.

Self Doubt

I try to keep a swagger in my step,
i try to walk boldly,
but how can I when my own self confidence
cannot hold me?

My self-esteem ain't that low,
but then again
it ain't that high.

And sometimes I don't know
who i am, where i'm going or
why i'm so confused.

Still I strive to hold my head up;
and tell myself never to give up
or give in

Because this is a fight for my life
and i'm in it to win.
But i'm so unsure
when I step to the plate

Should I take my own chances,
make my own choices,
or leave it up to life and wait?

I don't want to choke and make dumb mistakes.
You can't turn back time in this movie;
There is no second take.

So I leave it up to GOD
and give HIM full control.
I choose to let HIM take all the meaningless pieces
of my life
and make me whole.

Self Doubt

It is a fact that before I wrote True Colours,
I was stuck in a world of black and white bipolar,
encaged in my seat on a non stop rollercoaster,
eating one meal a day cooking bread in a toaster.

Do you know if from here I should.....
Nope wait, if it was you then would....
No I hesitate, before I wasn't sure I could
write so shall I carry on with doubt I'm good.

Should I continue to write?
Stick at it and improve I could?
Would I get better each night?
It's tricky to know if I'm good.

I wish for a talent but it's not apparent,
it's something I want but maybe I haven't.

I'm a thoughtful fighter
with a physical dominance,
who puts pen to paper
with a mental confidence.

The anxiety causes stress
and that makes me a messy mess too,
nonetheless I guess all I can do,
is pursue hopelessness whilst I continue
to harness this writing skill and improve,
while I remain myself and stay true,
or I could give up what do I choose?

It's amazing how the praise can make me lazy,
and all because the bar was raised.
To think that that's where it remains is crazy,
without the application my skill decayed.

Living off past glories and falsely self assured,
hides the fact the present leaves them bored.
The reward is forgotten without consistency
and the reputation plummets into history.

You need to bounce from test to test like a ball,
contest with the very best and prove you're no fool,
then you must not allow the standards to fall,
you must allow a new hunger to be installed.

I continuously doubt what I am all about,
I'm a drought that sprouts limited amounts,
it's the same bounce of the ball in all my bouts,
my mouth shouts in repetition and I've lost count.

I continuously doubt what I'm all about,
I'm constantly worried and living in doubt,
I'm in a black hole will I ever get out,
I continuously doubt so that's what I'm about.

Why would I refuse to continue after I didn't refuse to begin.

Self Doubt

Self doubt is my destroyer,
Puts obstacles in my way,
It is my enemy, my poison,
Killing my talents and abilities.
The negative babble
Chatters loudly in my head,
Reinforcing the self criticism.
It gets under my skin,
Haunting my self esteem.
I feel it travelling around my body,
Like bacteria flooding my blood.
It makes me confused, unsure,
Bringing me down to the dark side.
I'm stricken with feelings of unconfidence.
I've got to fight these demons,
Obliterate the bacteria,
Execute the lies,
Bring in the light so I can shine,
Embrace faith and believe in myself.
I have to take control,
Reward myself with peace.

Self Doubt

It’s such a hopeless, gloomy world
for those who walk about
without the confidence of mind
that takes away self-doubt.

But how can you fulfil your aims
if you remain inside,
protected by your prison walls
as in your mind you hide.

Waiting there for you to find,
although you fear to go,
is all the knowledge that you need
to help your spirit grow.

So take the plunge and break your cage,
all is not what it seems.
You need to face your inner fears
to realise you dreams.

You’ll find that once you’ve venture out
your fears will soon recede
and then you’ll reap the things in life
that you need to succeed.

In strength of mind you’ll graduate,
your confidence will swell
and very soon you’ll wonder why
you tied yourself in hell.

The world’s a place to grow and love
enjoyed by all mankind
so live it with a soul that’s free,
not shackled by your mind.

Self Doubt

Reflect,
Contemplate life,
Question your existence,
Do you fit into the puzzle,
Unsure.

Self Doubt

What was I thinking
Who will remember
Realization is sinking
A slow December

They might have seen
Caught a glimpse
A crack in my dream
Despite my attempts

The tiny details
I over correct
OCD spells
My art is wrecked

I often forget
The simplicity
Back before I let
The world get to me

They gossip and judge
Or so I've determined
My thick skull won't budge
Twist, turn or bend

I've made my decision
On what to believe
Despite my clear vision
I'll never achieve

My Self Doubt

You asked me in
And held me up
Then threw me down
And made me doubt
Everything in my mind
Everything I try and rewind
And playback life scenarios
You just hang me out
And let me go
I was so stupid
Why didn’t I know?
This is how
Things would go
My life turned
Inside and then out
Bringing on my self doubt
Always living in a world
Without
Freedom and peace
You tried to make me see
But now you just leave
So just leave me
Alone in my pain and misery

The Moments That You Self Doubt Can Kill Your Being .....

The moments that you self doubt can kill your being
A shadow of confusion can settle inside
Like a devil hiding A flame that surrounds your sense
Flesh becomes weak flesh becomes tense
The moments that you self doubt can kill your being
The clock ticks timing is everything
You want to cry the deepest of cuts
Your tears can not fall weakness is not appealing
Drums in your head the pounding wont subside
The moments that you self doubt can kill your being
A sadness drives your day
Cracks appear from the smoothest of smooth
No control is what concerns
Still a smile shown till dawn
You feel like you want to crawl
The moments that you self doubt can kill your being
But the floor does not adore such things
He is your king but the queen is not sure
Who shall wear her crown
Who's feelings are stood upon
The moments that you self doubt can kill your being
The one who breaks the harmonious spell
Or the one that wipes the tears and hides all fears
The moments that you self doubt can kill your being
Without the king even seeing
You are dying in your being ....

Self Doubt

Life's journey can be a dream come true
never give up on the positive
remember negativity comes from self doubt
love who you are & you will go far..

Self- Doubt

There comes a time
For every person
When you begin to question your worth.

Sometimes you question
The extent of your work.
Is it good enough?
Is it neat enough?
Is it captivating?
Will it create awe
In the reader’s mind?

Or will it sound dull?
Empty?
Boring?
Will they call it moronic
Or a delight?

How will I know?
Am I being ridiculous?
Is this just self doubt?
Or is this real?
Is there an ounce of truth
To my doubt?

Gliding past the mirror, the visage of sophisticated sensuality,
tall with head turning legs that stretch to heaven, dark and tan,
little black dress, tastefully shrink wrapped about hips and breasts,
stiletto heals, black patent, defining calves and thighs with each step,
but her smiling red lips can't hide the tear in her questioning eyes, “Who am I?”

Refusing Self-Doubt

As you go forth in your endeavors
Remember to keep a foundation
As obstacles come before you
It will guide you in situations.
Refusing self-doubt,
By entertaining the challenges within,
Pursuing the desires of the heart
As motivation becomes your friend.
Have confidence in who you are
Where ever your Journey leads,
Know, you must keep on pressing
By continuously planting your seed.
Advancing to your potential
As each year improves itself.
Achievement is an honor,
Visualizing how great it felt.

THE SILENT BATTLE

In the stillness of night, I find myself alone,
A young soul with dreams, but fears have grown.
I’m caught in a struggle, a war in my mind,
Wondering if I’ll make it, or be left behind.

My heart is heavy, with memories of the past,
She left me for another, a pain that won't pass.
Her betrayal cuts deep, it echoes in my head,
A love that once lived, now shattered instead.

My parents look to me with hope in their eyes,
They need my help, but I feel paralyzed.
How can I support them when I’m so lost?
Their dreams rest on me, but what’s the cost?

I’m surrounded by temptations, I fight every day,
Addictions that pull me, leading me astray.
I battle within, trying to stay strong,
But some days it feels like I’m getting it wrong.

I’m the hope for my family, their light in the dark,
But these responsibilities leave a deep mark.
Their expectations weigh me down, push me near,
And I wonder how long I can hold back my fear.

I reach out to God, but He feels so far,
Like a distant whisper, a faint glimmering star.
I pray for guidance, for strength to carry on,
But the silence is deafening as nights drag on.

I believe there’s a purpose for which I was born,
Yet doubts and fears leave my spirit torn.
The pressure is mounting, it’s hard to stay afloat,
As I carry the weight of the world in my boat.

The past haunts me, it won’t let me go,
But my dreams keep me moving, they’re all I know.
Will I make it in life? It’s a question I bear,
But I keep moving forward, despite the despair.

The subjects I study push me to my limit,
At the finest school, my efforts feel infinite.
I strive for success, though the path is steep,
Hoping that one day, the rewards I’ll reap.

Frustration lingers, like a cloud in my mind,
Will I ever win, or be left behind?
The past weighs me down, but I won’t let it last,
I’ll keep pushing forward, not dwell on the past.

Tomorrow holds hope, a light in the dark,
A promise of joy, a fresh, new spark.
I believe I can make it, though the road is tough,
In the end, I’ll find my strength is enough.

So I rise each day, ready to fight,
I’ll push through the pain, and reach for the light.
For deep down I know, I have what it takes,
And one day soon, I’ll rise above the stakes.
