Best Self Confidence Poems
Your empathetic sensitivity
was placed there for a reason
listen to your heart's soul
You can not love someone in parts
It is not fair to judge
the worst of someone new
against the best of someone in your past
And darling, that includes yourself
The poison parrot is repulsed by me, hates my art, laughs at my poems.
sneers when I enter my imaginary world, pokes fun at it.
She throws roadblocks into my mood zone,
destroys my great ideas as fast as they enter my dendrite alley.
You think you are something! Ha! She laughs. You are less than nothing.
No one will like that. It is too sassy, too bright, too snotty, too tall, too snarly.
She snips away at me, chopping little pieces off, as I try not to cry.
You are an idiot! She yells at me, her favorite pastime.
Poison Parrot managed to hold me down, away from myself, for years.
She held me hostage in a prison I helped her build; I cowered in a scared way.
Until I met Savior Boy. Savior Boy did not know about Poison Parrot, for when
I was around him, I was confident, witty, sassy, fun,
out-going and memorably lovely.
He let me do his homework, and he received good grades,
praising me to high heaven.
The closer we became. the more self-assured I became,
assertive genius oozed out of me.
Poison Parrot was fearful now, she saw she was losing her grip.
She began yelling louder than ever.
“You are an idiot! You are worthless! You are a loser!”
I stopped hearing her. Savior Boy’s love and respect helped me
to clip her wings, and tape her beak.
By the time our children arrived, I had re-invented my self-talk.
I was now being talked to by Sophie,
a dynamic, self-assured, marvelous pixie queen who
believed in herself, and everyone else.
I released Poison Parrot and let her limp away,
saving no face at all, after Sophie arrived.

She is odd, they said.
She won’t talk to you.
She is stuck up.
She is mean.
He did not believe them.
Them who had lied about him also when he was the new kid.
He sat with her during lunch.
They laughed like hyenas; he found her refreshing and delightful.
After school they cornered him.
They accused him of being disloyal to the pack.
They were angry that he did not take their word about her awfulness.
They were incensed that he had a mind of his own.
She is depressed, they said. She is a downer. She is bad news. Stay away or we will not be your friends.
He saw her sad, and soothed it.
He understood her downs, she had reasons for them.
So he sat with her at lunch, and he walked her home, and they used their sense of humors and they laughed.
Being with her felt wonderful, being with her was cathartic, being with her was love.
They were angry now. They surrounded him with baseball bats and bully clubs.
If you insist on following your heart and being nice to her, we will hit you, they told him.
We will hurt you.
We will kill you.
She is different, they told him. She is odd. One of them spit on his arm to prove his rightness.
He threw back his head and laughed at them and he did not stop laughing. He laughed for hours.
Their faces were mad. They were upset. They were so angry. They ran away, because they could not change him.
She came out of her house, ready to be walked to school.
What was that? She asked him.
A bunch of silliness, he told her.
They got married, and made friends all around the world.
Friends who liked them for having a sense of humor and minds of their own
And they lived happily ever after.
Confidence walks ahead of me
Sixteen steps or more, people feel her coming.
They clear out of our way. She laughs.
Clearing my path. My eyes are bright with happiness.
Dancing through life
Shaking my shoulders
Loosening up my hips
A sassy gypsy queen am I
Taking no prisoners
Enjoying my freedom
Playing my tambourine
Delighting the faeries
Twirling skirts
In a variety of colors
Matching no one
Surpassing myself.
Singing my truth
Competition on.
Fire oozes from my soul
I am the gypsy pirate queen

Watching the movie "Wizard of the Oz”, what do I see,
Cowardly lion does not have courage,
"Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave?",
'What others have got that I ain't got with lack of self-confidence? '
'What others have got that I ain't got with lack of self-confidence?'
Whenever I tried to create my image,
I felt ignored, lonely, and found no one listening to my nervous voice,
Fearful and hurt, I was losing my self-confidence.
Fearful and hurt, I was losing my self-confidence,
Till I heard the voice, Look over your audience,
Speak your heart out, let the people hear in silence,
Think of the ways to build your self-confidence.
Think of the ways to build the self-confidence,
Overcome the despair with the visions of hope,
Overcome the fear with acts of self-assurance,
As a last act, think you are as superior than anyone else.
Believe you can and you're halfway there" - Theodore Roosevelt

Beautiful Shine of Faith
When swirls of sadness swamp the heart
And vile men hold lovers apart,
When clouds of anguish grip the mind
And one`s path in life one can`t find,
When the spirit is at low tide
And no one can serve as a guide,
It`s time faith in oneself to light
And seek its shine that`s sparkling bright.
I could write about the same things every day for years, you, love, miracles, it would never change anything. You're oblivious to my constant battles with myself. I sit here for hours on end bleeding, continuously pouring my feelings out to you but you never even glance my way. I understand that I'm difficult to love, my mind goes a mile a minute and most of the time I'm an emotional wreck. on the contrary, I'm worth it. I am to be greatly appreciated. My sister always told me that my body is a temple and I am worth more than all of the jewels and treasures that money can buy. I am more than the T-shirt and jeans I throw on early mornings. Under the smile and golden locks, I am broken. as I sit at my typewriter with tears rolling down my face, I ponder what we could've been. I grasp my cup of Joe and wipe my tears. I realize that no one knows what kind of girl I am underneath, I am brilliant but reserved, exotic yet content. I laugh at everything, I can't contain my contagious giggles, they practically spill out of me. i'm irreplaceable, and not to be compared to anything or anyone. I love naps, just collapsing into my bed, disregarding the fact that I'm still in my ripped and jagged jeans, Chuck's on my feet and my ex-boyfriend's flannel on my back. i'm confident, and proud. Yet modest. Yes, I will flaunt my better qualities and I will be happy with who I am. because who honestly cares that I'm wearing yesterday's make up again today. And who gives a damn that I drank two red Bulls this morning just to ensure that I'll make it through the day. because if you're not going to help me, I'm going to have to help myself. And I'll be the first to tell you, you have to put effort in if you want to get effort out.
It's not about having money and thinking your above everything and everybody
It's not about being less fortunate and thinking you can run game on whatever you please
It's not about color and where you stand in any position
It's not about being older and knowing more and thinking to take advantage of the younger ones
It's not about being smarter and looking at others as if they have no qualifications
It's not about gender and who can do what job better
It's not about what side of the city you represent, but how you represent yourself as an individual
Man in a hood,
sparking light on the sun
pick peak of wood
camping might just too fun.
In Shah Alam's pavement,
calm down with me
eagerly makes movement
sink on the teeth.
I need some food,
don't destroy my own physis
like pardon of thy thesis
care what I stood.
Too fast or too slow,
like my life just low.
look at the power of apollo,
counting constellation of astro.
On reality, goes up to Atman,
En Masse someway
Dasein someday
On ability, become a Brahman.
Unfortunately, I didn't find my spark,
lonely yet bulky, stuck the past at park.
Truly lost my identity, in glooming states,
But hope still carry on the hint, like what I takes.
loving herself now
believing in her own heart
She retains power
My life is hard, hardly ever does my head rise above water.
My house is empty, hardly is there any laughter.
I cannot sleep, I cannot keep still,
On my table there is always, an unpaid bill.
Each day is like a self rewinding tape,
Everything stays the same and I can’t escape.
I can’t find salvation through a bible verse,
I can’t get any replies from the universe.
No one likes me, no one seems to care,
This pain of existence is more than I can bare.
Life is pointless; there is neither plan nor purpose,
I could just throw myself under the bus and nobody will fuss.
Wait, things are not so bad now, I was wrong,
Life is like a beautifully arranged melodic song.
It took a bottle of whisky to change my mind,
Everyone around is my friend, the bartender is so kind.
I am dancing and singing at the top of my voice,
Inside my arms there is a girl called Lois.
The bottle is half empty, and my troubles are half gone,
I feel no longer alone as I save new numbers on my phone.
Lois and I are in love, am tempted to propose,
We might be happy after all, I want to buy her a rose.
The taxi drops us at my house; “Welcome Lois to my home.”
She thinks the place is nice; she thinks she is in Rome.
Fast food, conversation, movies and TV shows;
More drinks and laughter as the night smoothly flows.
Our love story seems perfect as it moves to my bedroom,
We are happy and carefree, like a new bride and groom.
This moment is priceless, forget about tomorrow,
A love story doesn’t always need, to have any moral.
My head hurts in the morning, I drank too much.
Lois has already left, and I thought she was my best catch.
After I throw up I call her, but she won’t pick my calls.
She took my money and a watch, from one of my draws.
I am empty again, alone and heartbroken.
I desperately need a martini, not stirred but shaken.
Self confidence will allow us

Self confidence will allow us
To conquer our fears
And our limitations
So that we no longer have
to be
a victim of our own failures
Because we can climb above
and over all the hurdles
that are standing in front of us
And we can change our
failures and turn them
into accomplishments
Just by changing
our attitudes
And that’s just half the battle
The rest is fairly simple
Because each and everyone of us
are blessed with
our own unique gifts and talents
We just need to learn
how to bring
them to the surface
So that we may continue
to hold our heads up high
No matter what we may face
Because this will give us
the opportunity
to believe in ourselves
So that we may acquire
the inner
strength that is within us
And the self confidence
To conquer and defeat
our failures
and our own weaknesses
And the obstacles that we face
and the I cant do this attitudes
that lie underneath the surface
Because we are all
programed for success
Self confidence will allow us
To conquer our fears
And our limitations
So that we no longer have
to be
a victim of our own failures
Death silently creeps in
as the rule of no exception
he takes up a collection
of lost souls with no more time
the one priceless possession
Void of whats right
is the existance
I've come to know
everything surrounding
turns to shame hidden in sorrow
yet I still live for tomarrow
to realize these mending dreams
take a look inside me
not a man who's self decieved
My diary is none of me
that I paint easily unveiling
made up of painful poetic verses
that show I let go of hateful feelings
for I am steadily rising
no longer seems like a chore
every day I wake up
leaves me wanting less much more
The only thing that ever stopped me
was the nightmare I came to be
even through the worst circumstances
they left me with a certain understanding
Death now watches over me
I'm careful to nod my head
for without his protection
many times now I would lay lifeless
without a voice that guides me
no master do I call Lord
every ounce of belief in me
other faith is too much to afford
as my dreams become reality
you can only watch in wonder
while I perform my miracles
not atop the mountain, but under.
