The scorpions creeping out from words slowly, acutely framing
where judgement claims the higher position unconditionally
lone vulture hanging over its unsuspecting prey ready to pounce
once so blind ambitions reverberates back as unqualified honours least deserved

Pompous narcissistic elements with nonsensical fruitless talent
held within egotism where fools of choice becomes one’s ability
under total admiration publicly declared in lonely self-centeredness
becomes a sterile reflection back to oneself blinded by arrogance

As friends become nemesis’s unnamed obstacles of your vainglorious rise
Sounding echos reverberates a never ending recording of undeserving self-pride
knowing more than all of what is right claiming the false prize for me, me, me
It matters not that lonely superiority must accept the great divide

False praise their claims attention that inflames your senses unjustly wise
crying regrets a prize is a prize nothing to be gained under the sun or moon
striving after winds have blown a gale force within hidden torment
the wreckage that's left after such destruction can only be found wanting

Sloth’s Steaming Sin

Sluggishness slitters solely straightforward
Sedentary survival styles scold, strain
Self-centeredness - sloth’s shinning standard
Squandering silvers… spiritual sprain

TAXING THOUGHTS

Let us hide behind a litany of lunacy
Of gods and Gods, prophets and profits

Does it do any good to feed the hungry
When we are the cause of the hunger

To take money from those who work
And give it to those who can’t or won’t

Do the presidents dogs really need SS protection
More than his garage door needs a lock

Why does the Red hat of the toreador
Arouse such venom in the capeless

Must I give up my right to be me
So that you can exercise your right to be you

Must I turn away
Lest my eyes offend you

Silence my laughter
To sooth your self-centeredness

Must I teach my children and grandchildren
That they are less than because of who they are

Let us hide behind a plethora of flags
And mock the one allowing them to fly

Earth Day

Earth Day
A mighty soul squeezes into a body.
For the first time or the 10,000st – no matter –
It’s humbling, so h u m a n.
Learning to use this magnificent vessel, we know nothing.
What is this thing: “Language”?
We crap our pants.
We forgot almost everything and keep forgetting the rest.
Everything NEW seems REAL.
It will take much work or the Grace of God to perceive the truth again,
Amidst all this fascinating stuff.

Feelings – a packaged deal with the body.
(Much like the Monsanto protection clause in the bill to save the country from bankruptcy)
We are addicted to them (the feelings and Monsanto)
Yet too scared to allow the full range of what is labeled “good” to “bad”.
We spend most of our lives frantically avoiding anything that feels uncomfortable.
Don’t you see: it gives that particular feeling more reality than it deserves!

On the way home listening to the drum and a deeply melodic, sensuous voice,
The old woman in a willowy, wrinkly, white body (www.com) rocks out.
The music is intoxicating.
The older she gets, the more human she becomes.
Youth’s nature is to be perfect.
But after almost 60 years of living, she begins to own and honor the imperfection.
Everything is there. Love, compassion and kindness,
As well as judgment, self-centeredness and even cruelty.

The Earth is completing another turn around itself,
Whirling around a star as they are being hurled farther “into” or “out of” the Universe?
The color is fading out of the landscape.
Sucked into the sky as blues, purples, reds and gold.
Only to be reborn tomorrow in the luminescent light of the dawn.

Premium Member Soul Settled In the Saviour

Slip, my soul, as sunset into the sea ---
settled to stay serenely shining
shaded by the Saviour’s starlight
shielded against stain of sin-sting sorrow
scintillating spiritedly.

Seeking succor from sufferings and strife
soul of mine, slip as sunset into the sea ---
surrounded with Sovereign solitude
secured midst salvation’s surety
subdued from stubborn self-centeredness.

Sweetly savouring satisfaction of sincere service
sufficed by the Supreme Shepherd*
sealed soul, slip steadfastly, as sunset into the sea ---
silenced against slothfulness-shouts with sleep’s solace
safely sheltered toward tomorrow’s steadfast stewardship.

*Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Premium Member Ring Leader

Personally I don't like the way he gets up
Every morn sqawking, strutting his stuff around, don't like, yup

Ring leader in the morn with his self-centeredness
His behavior exudes narcism and great abrasivesness

His neck stretched, chest extended, muslces flexed ready
This Rhode Island Red crows from dawn 'til sun up and steady

At the Comfort of Her Homne

At the comfort of her home she finds peace
Away from all the voices she finds just petrifying to her ears…
Oh how disquieting they have become….
Silently….she screams out for help for the voices to go away
Quietly crying out for help…..she is tormented, suffering
“shut up”….that’s all she can say but to no avail
These uninterrupted voices she hears……..of selfish needs, temporary!
Temporary and to some extend imaginings that may never come to be…..if at all to be
Judged by the world……so isolation is better than inane conversations…..
No…..it’s not self centeredness…..nor selfishness
No….it’s not madness nor Schizophrenia…….
She is just different.

He on the other hand is hurting
Eyes so evidently filled with tears
He is tormented by that which is beyond his ability
With eyes yet again filled with questions he looks up to the heavens, ‘Why God”?
And with a trembling voice, shouts…..”What have we done?”
See…. this is the cry of the helpless……..Who only trust in God to answer
So her heart breaks at His grief…….
She is touched by such things and her heart …………her heart yearns for something new
Something greater…….oblivious to the prevailing situation lies hope
The vain voices seem to dissipate………slowly fading away into nothingness

The solitude she has engulfed herself in……..gradually suffocating her
Grasping for breath she sways uncontrollably
Grasping for light she moves back and forth……..back and forth she is lost in darkness
Grasping for peace……….her heart slowly sinks into sadness
Then…how does she lead him in finding hope…….finding peace
Yet….She seeks freedom from her own self?
Seeking guidance into truth………her destiny must be defined
Her destiny……. is defined.
At the comfort of her home she finds peace……….?
Is it peace she defines or is it just a safe abode created by……..her?
It is a secluded place that binds her……… prison……..
She has imprisoned herself in her own thoughts
That inner voice crying out for help……..”Abba Father………safe me”
Safe her from herself…………
For that place she calls home is not peaceful………Save her!

Not For Personal Gain Or Glory

Like the Vikings who left us this word – ‘berserk’
some of us may have shown it through human reaction,
where we go berserk against disproportionate behaviors
such anger or infuriation that defines the immediate actions.

It’s still very human to act in this way with sudden eruption,
when inner anger overrules and makes us manifest towards others;
a strong element that fuels harsh words and outrage within,
oh, what a state of mind! so capable to influence us in many ways.

But Jesus Christ’s experience when confronted with torture,
suffering, crucifixion and eventually death in his heroic way;
his courage and humility which are worth mentioning here.
truly, a sublime reaction against those pains and persecutions.

He becomes human who copes with greater risks and pains,
identified not as a historical Jesus of natural stoicism;
with his real grasp of what his destiny may entail along the process,
his only response – to embrace the cross which means so much for us.
On Good Friday reminds us of his passion and crucifixion,
being betrayed, denied and left alone in humiliation;
in darkness and dread, in sorrow and bereavement,
he remains true to his mission and love for all the people.

His lonely agony in the garden of Gethsemane,
touches us so profoundly as he awaits for his destiny;
here is his obedience to the Father whom he prays to,
one with him, distinct in person, one in the Trinity.

Courage or bravery is worth remembering here,
it’s born out of a vision that comprises his self-giving;
that knows no fear but is moved with deep reflection,
all for otherness, all for humanity, all because of his love for people.

In today’s world where we’re constantly tempted with selfishness,
self-centeredness or obsession for power, money and prestige;
Christ’s journey with his disciples makes us reflect what it means,
to be a disciple is to be willing to sacrifice for the sake of others.

Rainbow's Underbelly

Murky shadows slink around the darkened rainbow
like black eels embracing the dish hi-lighting mankind’s testes.
As today Man’s testicles still hold the world hostage
and reveal the slow moving continuum slithering toward the world’s fate.

Flames and chaos surround Man's prayers while searching for God.
Man stares at His face looking to find his own,
but knowing God is vindictive, Man’s core freezes
exposing the glass cage that surrounds his heart.

God's stare penetrates the glass cage to see Man’s deviousness,
“The chaos you have created in my world is not why I made you!”
God’s gaze is not consoling, “You have made me angry!”
He raises his voice and Heaven’s gates tremble.

"You have freewill, do the right thing!" God commands.
Sometimes, things happen for a reason, but sometimes, they surprise."
Acumen is displayed in the wisdom written in the nooks and crannies of Life
but learning is not men’s obsession; it is obtaining the Holy Grail of lucre.

These avaricious men, like lemmings, follow a personal path to oblivion,
being devoid of integrity, truth and vision, they wallow in fake glitter.
The black underbelly of the dark rainbow holds many truths
but man is slow to learn disdaining the moral lessons it teaches.

Life led Man to a truism: Surviving is paramount
But Death added another truism: Lives will be sacrificed

Truth is the string that holds the world together
but when deceit runs rampant truth can carry a nation a long way,
yet in the pursuit for power and control; lying reigns supreme.
To stay in power, the liars will twist the truth until it becomes suspect.

Confused people follow the din of the opulent life of the wealthy.
It is greed, selfishness and jingoism the wealthy foment that entices the dispossessed.
Deceitful carrots of untruths are dangled in front of gullible minds
desperate enough to believe they can have it all, too.

Working people continually struggle to find ways to be heard
to expose the elite’s perverse calloused nature of self-centeredness;
maybe the fighting spirit of working people’s efforts to survive is
just enough to impress God to make the world safe for another day...

The Essence of Praying

The Essence of Praying

A poem about the value of praying inspired by Ancient Greek Wisdom

Pray to contemplate the joys of life
As a prayer removes the ire of strife
Giving your soul the essence of unity
To travel your path to Divine totality

For praying guards you against thoughts
Of wrath, badness and irresponsible acts
Lowering your egoism and self-centeredness
And clearing your psyche from all viciousness

A prayer demolishes all injustice instantly
Making you integrate better into humanity
As it frees your mind to think more wisely
Leading your heart to the land of all-mercy

For praying, adds to your soul, supreme beauty
And transforms your composition of constancy
As it makes your permanence quite transitory
To seek, for your sins, the blessings of Almighty

Always taking into deep consideration the following prayer is attributed to Socrates:
‘Beloved Pan and you other Gods,
Those we adore in this land,
Make me beautiful internally in my soul.
Make the material things I have,
Harmonious with my ideas.
To think wealthy only the wise man,
To have and hold so much property,
As can be acquired and tolerated by a reasonable man’.

Line of Inquiry:

“Mistaken that I was this body-mind,
I succumbed to desire and fell to fear
but on choosing pathways loving and kind,
light of God in heart began to appear
and truth of my true essence became clear,
which made in God’s image, is living light,
gripping us in rapture of bliss delight.” - Unseeking Seeker

Oh to rid oneself of human weakness,
let go of fears and not give in to lust.
Oh to see the finish of one’s bleakness
by putting in God’s hands one’s total trust.
To open up clarity’s sweet portal
and understand God’s truth should be the goal
and strive to be more than a mere mortal.
Oh to really feel God in one’s soul!
The year is ending; let me wisely choose
the path of love and kindness – God’s own way.
A person gains when he’s prepared to lose
self-centeredness. For all mankind I pray
we recognize God’s light and let it shine -
to bring a world of bliss – God’s peace divine.

Premium Member Lord God, You Are My Soul Defender

March 9 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Judges 10-12

Key Verse –Judges 10:16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SOUL DEFENDER

Lord God, You are my soul Defender
upon Your mount of holiness
Thank You for enabling me to arise through Your faithfulness
While I forsake self-centeredness
And overcome worldly vexation with Your wisdom-graciousness.

Lord God, You are my soul Defender
upon Your camp of service
Thank You for helping me conquer misery of slothfulness-practice
While I fight fruitlessness with Your valour though I’m a novice
And outgrow idleness according to Your Word’s notice.

Lord God, You are my soul Defender
upon Your house of rejoicing
Thank You for leading me to Your restoration-peace with Your blessing
While I dwell in Your care’s compassing
And optimize Your grace toward Your bliss-possessing.

Lord God, You are my soul Defender
upon Your coasts of mercy
Thank You for cleansing me from confessed sins by Your clemency
While I hearken to Your exhortations’ persistency
And open myself to Your teaching midst truth-fervency.

Lord God, You are my soul Defender
upon Your vineyards of soulwinning action
Thank You for making me behold rewards of discipleship-session
While I bewail my fruitlessness in labour-malfunction
And offer to You my best by Your work-production.

Lord God, You are my soul Defender
upon Your might of deliverance
Thank You for welcoming me to Your presence with faith-appearance
While I repent from my unbelief, claiming Your assurance
And own Your pardon along Your blessed guidance-perseverance.

Lord God, You are my soul Defender
upon Your promised land of victory
Thank You for comforting me with Your sacrifice of divine history
While I praise You for freeing me from judgment’s fury
And orderly follow Your directions toward triumphant glory.

Reminder ...

i am not powerless over my attitude nor over responsibility

i have the power to exert influence on myself and others as well

day to day frustrations are most evident

it can be tough to reach out with an attentive ear

compulsive thoughts push me closer to the edge

i have no recourse except to surrender

everyday i stand at a turning points

my thoughts and actions can propel me toward growth or down a road of old habits

sometimes turning points can be beginnings

i decide to praise instead of condemn when i'm in the right state of mind

sometimes my character defects appear on a daily basis

i need to realize i am human and not perfect and regain an inner peace of mind

i get inclined to stay blind and push toward escape

i experience overwhelming guilt and feelings of regret

self centeredness and dishonesty stem from the way i was living

i have the choice between good and evil and serenity and fear

i need to chamge my attitude and actions ever so slightly

slowly i'm becoming comfortable in my own skin

i hope to awake tomorrow with gratitiude and happiness

Premium Member It's Too Late

I feel asleep at the wheel
while she slipped on out the door;
I didn’t notice, but the signs were there -
She didn’t love me anymore.
She probably told me, but I didn’t listen -
focusing on the football score.
The home team won; I took the bet,
but my loses continue to soar.

That Queen-sized bed that seemed so small
when the two of us fought over the sheets;
Engulfs me now in emptiness
and a guilt that is complete;
A love that I took for granted
just drove away on down the street;
My complacency and self-centeredness
has left me in defeat.

Her recorded voice on our answering machine,
I know I should erase;
I know that I am the one to blame
for the sad look upon her face;
Her cries for attention I brushed aside
when instead I should embrace;
And now I hear echoes in every room
of this sad and lonely place.

It’s too late to ask forgiveness
It’s too late to change my ways
It’s too late to make amends
It’s too late to save the day
It’s too late to say “I love you”
And to show you just how much
It’s too late to recognize you
And for your heart my love to touch
