Best Seasonsnight Poems
Partys for couples new lovers and just friends.
Music to fill the night the streets of New york
breath life to old flames keeping even jaded souls warm.
The lonley gather round the TV.
sharing a glimpse at something we all yern to have.
And from the up high the streets seem magic tonight.
the soudtrack of the night will echo
into are hungover minds with a painful yet happy reminder
of last nights celebration.
Late night lovers will smile and go there awkward ways.
So many acts in so many different plays.
creeping back to are corners in lastnights suit and tie.
Tight little black dress kiss worn lips
acting happier than two kids ragged in need of a shave
you with hair in a mess.
And for friends that gather to relive not so real
past glory.
The pages are left to the writter.
To add to lastnights not so original story.
As the barflys gather to battle another unsober day.
I watch this first new day anew.
Take a sip from my flask and thank the lord
for one more year with you.
And tonight I say to you all raise that glass.
kiss that stranger you know so well.
Laugh love and live.
And thank whomever ya choose weve made it through another
year to tell.
If I could interpret the influence of winter
It would be blindly silent and dramatically loud
With wailing seas of white wonder-
Feverishly blowing sideways into the night
Crystallized droplets of frozen blue tears
Hanging dangerously waiting for that moment –
To fall into the arms of a cloud puff of snow
Like twinkling diamonds posing gracefully off the roofs-
And the buildings of our human comforts
Until the kiss of the daytime sun slowly softens its sharp edges
And so dancing drops of watery icicles plunk into small puddles below
Until the night falls and they stretch and-
Reform their clinging weapons of new splendor
Stillness embraces with cold arms of unforgiving favor
In the quiet frozen fields of the morning, hope springs a bird whistling
A few scattered old leaves never buried under winter fly free
Now onward to the days end we sweep
Sleep now, we sleep into the days of December’s mask
With blankets of wool and fires of warmth around our toes
As we drift off nestled in our beds,
We can’t image our existence without refuge
Another log is crackling and burning in the fireplace.
The sky turns from blue to grey
This is the end of the light for today
Clouds swirl around like ghosts in the night
Avoid dark corners or you’ll get a fright
Shadows now form in the eerie sky
The moon comes out, the sun says goodbye
Creatures of the night come out to play
The birds go to roost until the next day
Twisting and turning the branches sway
There is a strong breeze coming our way
In the light of the moon the night owl flies
This is the night of the Charcoal skies
Good night full autumn moon shining so bold.
Harvest is done this eve of this seasons end.
I rest for this short period before the bitter cold.
Playing my flute for you, my music I do send.
I may be sad though my heart is gratefully filled.
Good night full autumn moon shining so bold.
Winters strength comes soon, elders’ bones are chilled.
Weak with age though their memories brisk to be told.
Stories rich with truth, understanding natures mold.
Within the wilderness, my soul captured by insight,
Good night full autumn moon shining so bold.
I shall await the next day’s prudence, our tribes fight.
As the moons shadows come out, though I never see,
I play for natures delight, praising all things we never hold.
My name is Len which means flute from the tribe of Hopi.

Alone I sit in a dreamy state
Remembering last night whilst I contemplate
We sat down to dinner looking out across the bay
Playing footsie under the table in loving display
Scented candles wafted their presence aired
Street orbs left us shadowed at the table we shared
The evening breeze on this Autumn day past
Whimpers as it settles, stillness at last
We arise, we walk along historic harbour walls
Amidst golden gowns, only leaves are now in fall
Waves lap the shores whilst birds voice overhead
Blending into the darkness as we wonder what's being said
Every so often we would stop to share a kiss
Knowing we have our tomorrow's fills me with bliss
Remembering last night whilst I contemplate
Alone I sit in a dreamy state

As the days grow shorter, and darkness fills the sky.
The chill in the night air, brings tears to the eyes.
You shiver and shake, from your head to your toes,
No matter what you do , you cant stop that running nose.
Winter is here , so the old folks say,
Get out the long johns to wear each day.
Ear muffs and scarf, wool socks and mits,
Comes out of storage to check for the fit.
Now that im dressed and ready to go,
I hear kids outside say , hear comes the snow.
They jump for joy at this beautiful sight,
Soon we will have our first snow ball fight.
As soon as the pond freezes over i know,
Kids will be on it and ready to go.
Hockey sticks in hand, skates on thier shoulders,
Teams are picked , some young some older.
No lights are needed, for its a full moon tonight,
It shines over the pond as if it were daylight.
Bed time is here and to all we must say,
Good night , God Bless to all, for its been a great day.
Moody Storm
Lighting flashes from the East to the West.
Sitting on my porch, blowing on my face, the wind has progressed.
Trees swaying to the left and to the right..
Dark brooding clouds liberating some patches of moonlight.
Out of the choleric night sky heaves, heavy rain drops.
I ran into my house while sounding off a scary loud yawp!
All of a sudden; I heard a clunk, a thud and a thump!
The stormy night sky disports icy balls! Playing out its last trump!
Finally; there is a lifeless cold eerie silence.
The saturnine night sky lastly dissipates its vengeance.
Into the Night
As I drift into a peaceful night slumber..
Sounds owned by the night, enter my chamber.
Crickets chirp a tune to share..
From the corners of the dusk; filling the night air.
The moon peers through the window, sprawling to the floor.
Making slight shadows, for creating a frightening folklore.
I hear little feet scurrying across the room.
It was a mouse, I think; escaping his foredoom.
Leaves from branches brush across the window screen.
The night was proving to be more then it seemed.
Moths flutter aloft a lighted street post.
A slight breeze ascends the curtains, simulating a ghost!
In the near distance, came the sound of a drummer.
Then out of nowhere, a flash splits the darkness asunder!
Rain patters down steadily on the worn rooftop.
Then the night went placid leaving a picturesque backdrop.
The smell of the rain renders me soporific.
Slipping into a dream, I ponder on tomorrow nights frolics!
A blue sky brings wondering eyes
A peaceful sight with so much delight
As the suns rays breach the sky's above
Letting the clouds shine and flow with
Its wonderus glow. As night falls the sun
moves on bringing the moon around
for its night time fun, The sky's turning dark
The stars beginning to appear, A radiant sight for
All this time of year. As the temperature drops the
Sky fades to black as clouds move in for there
Quick night time trick. A sight of no other begins to
Appear as white little fairies drop down so clear,
A wonderful sight i have never seen landing down so
Gracefull and neat. A snowy merical arrives
To night, to break Christmass morning with such delight.
Night inched its way
Up the north-east side
Of my house
Much in the way
A little child
Would climb over a fence
One small hand at a time
And as night's shadow
Reached the very top
It stopped for a moment
Before tumbling over
And falling down
The south-west wall
Plunging the house into darkness
It was a familiar winter night
But what I remember most
Was how much colder it seemed
Then other winters before
Nonetheless
Warm or cold
It was winter
Complete in every way
With winds like icy fingers
And falling snow
That seemed to go on and on
Forever
It was on a night like this
That I thought of you
A night
When I was overwhelmed
By everything that winter was
Compounded by a darker darkness
Than any nights I could remember
That had come before
And try as I might
I could not summon the sun
Or make it rise more swiftly
To free my mind
From unwanted thoughts
Nor could I find any solace
In the quiet, quiet
Of winter’s silence
