Best Sakes Poems
Its here the thing we all fear,
The apocalypse is near,
The devils spurn has risen,
Trapping us in our homes like prisons,
To plague our planet already broken,
Is it retaliating, squeezing our lungs chocking,
Like the black death the plague upon our people,
Swooping, stealing the lives of the weak and feeble.
The most innocent are victims of the virus,
A sickening twist to this sickness sent to us,
From an unholy ghastly maker,
This is not the handy work of any saviour.
Is it a clense of the human race,
A government conspiracy for goodness sakes,
Bats are where it supposedly derives,
A rodent of the night skies,
Despite everyone's efforts its spreading like flies,
No loo roll paracetamol or thermoeter will scare it away,
It looks like it plans to stay,Just like an unwanted guest, Who's warn out its stay, so I'll guess I'll be the first to say
Welcome Corona virus to the UK.

Repentance is hurt that leads you to healing
Fall on your knees and pray to learn how to deal with your feelings
From all your past sins and from all your past mistakes
It doesn’t matter Jesus died for all our sakes
All we have to do is confess our sins from our mouth
Before you know it God will surely bring you out
He is the only one who doesn’t hold a grudge
Even when you slip and fall He’ll give you that extra nudge
God will pick us up when we do stumble down
Will stand us up again and turn us back around
Will lead His children down the path of His righteousness
While holding us together with all His mightiness
Don’t listen to satan tell you that God doesn’t forgive you
His job is to keep you from getting your prayers through
If you are godly sorry in all the sins that you do
Remember repenting to our Lord is what is needed to get your message through.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.
At least that's what I hear.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a rowboat
fishing and drinking beer!
When advised to "fight fire with fire"
please think about it twice.
Remember, firemen fight fire with water
so I kinda question that advice!
I'm told the way to get ahead
is by using your ambition.
They say "shoulder to the wheel, nose to the grindstone".
However, now try working in that position!
Don't believe in superstition.
Folks will think you are a schmuck.
Besides if you believe in it
it's gonna bring bad luck!
I try to avoid a lot of things,
that will cause me degradation.
I can resist most anything,
that is, except temptation!
I always try my very best
not to make mistakes
In fact if wasn't for my faults,
I'd be perfect for goodness sakes!
These are some of the random thoughts
that keep running through my mind.
It's just a lot of nonsense,
but it sure helped me unwind.
(Soupers - Sorry you chose to read this
nonsense. Surely you must have
something better to do! Thanks anyway.)

Do the right thing even if you get criticized for doing it.
If you are absolutely convinced you are right...reconsider!
Setting a goal is the first step toward reaching it.
You will never enjoy having something you stole from someone else.
Say “no” to more things than you say “yes” to.
The less you do the more tired you will get.
Live each day as though it were your last. It may be!”
You cannot outrun a bad reputation.
Once people see you at your worst, they will always remember it,
no matter how much better you get.
Be yourself, you cannot be anyone else.
Never trust anyone who has lied to you to your face. The biggest liars
will tell you up front they are not lying.
Don’t be afraid to speak up if you know what you’re talking about;
if you don’t know what you’re talking about...
for goodness sakes, keep quiet!
Never give somebody something you want for yourself.
You can go home again, but it won’t be like it was when you left.
“Don’t do as I do, do as I say” is horrible advice and a worse example.
Silence is not golden when you choose to remain silent
in the face of injustice, bigotry, and bullying.”
Do not give a second thought to the enemy who speaks ill of you...
expect it!
One of the best ways to judge another person is to look in the mirror.
If you are not a better person today than you were yesterday,
you wasted some valuable time yesterday.
When you lose your self-control, it is very difficult to recover.
No matter how hard you try to change their opinion of you,
some people are never going to like you!

...for Juvie
Whene'er you feel distress my own heart aches,
that you should suffer so without release,
I would sustain the hurt for both our sakes,
absorb the pain, and set your soul at peace.
For I can ne'er be still whilst you are fill'd
wih anguish, your tranquillity diseas'd,
we two as one, our aggravations spilled
and blended 'til the torment be appeas'd.
To find a way from darkness into light,
to cast away our feelings of despair
we will prevail, that all our days be bright,
and you shall rest content within my care.
This spell of sadness soon will disappear,
for with my love you'll overcome your fear.

Let me write poems for all our souls
With a pen in my hand …
Let me communicate all our words
With a pen in my hand …
Let me take all emotions and confuse them with my own.
Let me have all notions to tend until they have grown.
Let me cry for all our sakes
With a pen in my hand …
Let me pray for all tomorrows
With a pen in my hand …
Let me dare as I know best to distinguish all life's nettle.
Give me all of your unrest so each heart in turn may settle.

Have a Guiness and let’s toast St. Patrick
Whether laddie, lass or old codger geriatric
A bold gent with such clout
All Eire’s snakes he shooed out
Never has there been a saint so theatric!
Robert
I am an old codger geriatric
But I will raise a toast to ST. Patrick
For shooing those snakes
Away for our sakes
He definitely was Saint Fantastic

Please let me speak about the heart
indeed the heart of all our aches
where our problems are to be found
so important to know for our sakes
God clearly wants us to know self-control
with His wisdom to exercise His will
for without self-control, one's left broken
helpless and hopeless just being still
Imagine a man with no self-control
like a city broken without any wall
open to every wind of teaching
allowing sin to have the last call
Learn well the words of John Owen
the great English puritan in the past
'be killing sin' for its a poison
to damage your soul to the last
So deal with your sin
or, 'sin will be killing you'
wise words that need obeyed
coming to God saying I do
('Be killing sin or sin will be killing you' - John Owen, English puritan minister (1616-1683)
"A man without self-control
is like a city broken into and left without walls")
Proverbs 25: 28 (ESV).

As I walked through a meadow singing a song,
I heard a hissing voice say, "Hello. Come along."
It came from beneath a patch of thorny weeds,
whispered, "Are you one of those good seeds?"
I feared the snake would strike from coiled position,
but it seemed to be waiting for my admission.
There was a fiery light burning in its beady eyes,
as distant thunder rumbled in graying skies.
I dared not let the reptile know the fear I felt within
so, I answered the snake, with gold glistening skin.
"I don't think of myself as a righteous good seed.
but I do my best to perform many a helpful deed."
"What of you, snake? What is it that you like to do?
Tell me why many people are always afraid of you."
He flicked his tongue to catch the scent of me,
took some time before replying, then he did decree:
"Snakes like me have always been misunderstood."
Then he rose up higher and the cobra fanned his hood.
"We're called "Lords of Evil," but we're merely snakes.
Some of us are poisonous, but for goodness sakes,
many of us do good things on the land of Mother Earth.
Shouldn't that mean that we have a measure of worth?"
He uncoiled and slithered under an apple tree's shade.
I should've walked away, but couldn't, so I stayed.
My mind was overflowing with things I wanted to query.
He beckoned me to come nearer, but I remained wary.
"Do not fear me for I'll not sink my fangs in you, child.
I'm sick and tired of snakes being slandered and reviled.
We're thought of as devils and demons from Satan's lair,
beheaded and killed for no reason, and that's not fair."
I listened to its complaints and with him I had to agree.
Snakes always get a bad rap. Not all of them are beastly.
Suddenly, he stopped talking, and I thought he was asleep
until he opened one eye, asking if his secret I would keep.
"I won't tell anyone about the conversation we just had,
and promise to spread the word that not all snakes are bad."

When I think about all the people...
Who have newly saddened lives
People who may have lost a spouse
Their husbands or their wives
When I think about the orphaned children
The little girls and little boys
Whom don't have either parent
To give a wish list full of toys
When I think about the natural disasters
The fires, winds and quakes
And the lives that are ruined forever
Just like that, My god...for heaven sakes
When I think about those hateful bastards
Who shoot bullets in our schools
Killing all those innocent people
Dear Lord, they must be Satan's fools
When I think about the unfortunate children
Whom were born with special needs
I pray for their families, ever so dearly
My heart, for them...it bleeds
When I think about all those people
Whom have sadness in their lives
Look at me, a full-grown man
Tears are in my eyes
When I think about Christmas time
I remember, some have it really bad
So, I say my prayers...before I sleep
And I pray, your Christmas's...not sad

It's not easy being a cat, you know
They say we have nine lives
But truth be told, like you, we have but one
In my personal life, in my odyssey to the road of being loved
I purred many days and nights on doorsteps until I found the warmest hands
Sleeping 'neath the stars many a night, thinking to myself...
"There must be someone out there"
Someone out there who will shelter me, care for me, and love me
Someone out there that is kind and thoughtful
Someone out there, for Christ sakes- that likes cats!
Well, my quest for finding love had finally come
And trust me, it was well worth the wait
When Ms. C brought me in,
I knew that I had finally found the "Purrfect" home
The unconditional love that she gives to me...
Wags my tail in motions that even I didn't know existed
Now, I look at those same stars at night, thinking to myself...
"It's so nice to be a cat"
I don't know if I will ever have nine lives
But one thing for certain is that I lived two
One very scary and lonely life...
And one very loving and beautiful life
All thanks, to Ms. C
And for her wonderful kindness...
To cats, like me

'...tell Sid, "The Big Picture."'
(from the Movie 'Creator,'
starring Peter O'Toole)
Bioethicists will claim
the moment when a blob awakes
there's living, breathing, sentient life!
(they're molecules, for heaven's sakes!)
Telemetry and test tube babies,
scientific miracle?
who's to say and who is right,
a priori or empirical?
We're getting more sophisticated,
bio-engineering's next;
stamping genes with pre-formed coding,
who are we to write the text?
We climb the mountain, ever striving
for the answers, right or wrong;
we'll find upon that far horizon
God's been waiting all along.

The Christmas Story
The Christmas story we were taught so well
And it’s a story that we love to tell
Tales of sweet angels who excitedly
Permeate sky with song beautifully.
On the unforgettable holy night
The star of Bethlehem was shining bright
Gleaming o’er the place of Jesus Christ’s birth
Born to save the souls of people on earth.
Will the light shine for us this Christmas Day
Will the darkness finally fade away
Earth’s in unrest that’s gone beyond control
Lord we implore you to save all lost souls.
The world is in need of peace for healing
From the anguish it's people are feeling
May this Christmas abolish all hatred
With hearts filled with love we will achieve it.
We must find the will inside to survive
It's love and trust that will light up our lives
Born for us, Jesus died for our sakes too
A gift from God above to me and you.
Life’s become harder for some of us all
Gone are joyous days when life was a ball
Despondence just keeps on coming our way
Pray that changes because of Christmas Day.

Of all the superhero's- among
I like the one with a sarcastic tongue
The one that dies, and re-awakes
With growing legs, for heaven's sakes
He hides his face- an easy task
And does it well, behind his mask
He's sometimes caught- stuck in a freeze
And talks to us, 'bout what he sees
My all-time favorite, is so damn cool
The one and only superhero...Deadpool
