Best Rudder Poems

Drifting

I'm drifting Lord, I'm all at sea,
You came along and uplifted me,
No rudder Lord, i'm feeling shallow,
Lord, be my guide and I will follow.

I'm drifting Lord, I'm all at sea,
Lord I pray,come, rescue me,
Alone was I to sit and cry,
You gave comfort by and by.

The world's so big, so cold and cruel,
Your love to me is lifegiving fuel.
When I am feeling close to You,
My world is safe and warm and true.

Friend, if you are feeling low today,
just get on your knees and pray.
You'll be amazed that when you do,
You'll find the Jesus Way is true.

Elevators: 5 Horsemen

Part 1

Onion

the delicacy of friendship

I found you in the flowers
Standing tall we become one
Looking down from gangly towers
Squash, you burn, you pillage, son.

Follow me you say in tongues
Thy shallow mind reveal me tell
Whisper lies clean load the guns
I feel the burn I rot in hell

Friend folly menacing the liar
I loathe this coffin how it leaks
Dear foe you raped me set on fire
The onion peal itself and weeps

Part 2

Traitor

dear monkey boy

Older eyes eat themselves,
glance and kill the other
Unified in the dance,
they steer the musty rudder.

Pained and sweeter deeper wells,
poised buckets drunk with water.
Singled out the one that dried,
handed weights to pull him under.

Wiser times capture the mind,
death justifies dishonor.
Knife slice neat through the devil's back,
who stares blank and milks the udder.

Part 3

Tempest

patron saint

Inside this box
Goodbye tempestuous fall
My puppet of steel coiled thread
Smashed buttons and twisted dread,
Alarm these doors, and
Escape this delusive bunker bed

Stamp the spiders
Thief, vulture of the deflection
The mocking patron of the sinners
Erase this affliction
Relating inward at the reflection

Rise you fool

Part 4

Phoenix

i love you

close the grip
cinched hematic grip
drenched, clawing
seeking the sheave
becoming the counterweight

i absorb, now
extracting the heat
rise like a phoenix
away to be gone to be free
fix me! i have fixed me

i am alive and i love you

Part 5

Aye, Damager

Abolish her state of disrepair
Scattered, spattered drippy thoughts
All around this box of soused leaves
Soak, ferment in the faith of our love

I can't fix this, you know
I loathe this misunderstanding
Of what I am speaking, projecting
To me, Aye Damager, to you

This devil in me
turned and twisted
A wrecked elevator in rejection
Years locked painfully aware

Premium Member You Are My Love

You're my love boat, and I am yours:
you're the rudder, and I'm the oars.
I am your challenge, you're my dare,
and God's answer to my prayer:
when I take a breath, you're the air.

You found me scared behind locked doors
and took me to see foreign shores,
revealing a world waiting there.
For we're soulmates.

We've fought battles, but never wars,
refereeing games without scores.
Feeling the flames of passion flare,
our love forged one heart, that we share;
melded together at our cores.
For we're soulmates.

Without convictions, a man resembles

an aimlessly sailing boat, in which both the rudder

and

the anchor is missing!

Entrust

The rudder of your life's boat into

God's hands

And be certain that it will never sink,

No matter,

How tempestuous the sea becomes!

I Am For Christ

Please strengthen my testimony Lord.
Help by being my sword, shield, and reward.
Destroy that which is inside me, abhorred.
Bring me aboard, and fully furnish me restored.

As we travel across this stormy sea,
Help me bail and stop all these water leaks.
Be a motor in the back for me,
And a rudder to steer me clear and free.

Savior, I am unable, but Thou canst redeem.
Please come rescue, release and restore me.
I cry out for Thy mercy, peace and healing,
So I can live in righteousness abundantly.

I have not the power, and am not my own,
But Thou canst plant, grow and reap, all seeds sown.
I need Thee every moment, to not be alone.
In the end, bring me home to bow at Thy throne.

I am to follow Thee, so I must abide in truth.
Please give me all Thy ways, and follow through.
I need Thee to teach, preach and lead, to improve.
I know Thy love is all I can do, so help me prove.

Now I ask Thee wholly, to restore me in Thy grace.
Glorious Father, I now fully embrace.
I have so much to become, in all Thy ways.
Hold me up tightly, to the light of Thy face.

My offering is me, and Thou offered Thee,
So let’s come together, and be one in deed.
Sealed in Thy holy sacrifice, I am made free.
Let this be all I’m after, for only this will suffice me.

Premium Member My Jesus

I inched my way towards the end of this year
with a hopeful prayer on my heart
The last few years have been so challenging
to say the least.
The truth of the matter is the best blessing of all,
turned out to be you.

There were moments when I felt despair
and there were days when I almost gave up
Life had become a series of uncertain events
and so, I clung to my Faith like a lifeboat from heaven
and waited rudder in hand, dreaming of calmer waters
I observantly counted each favored blessing
until I came to the realization that
the best blessing of all this year was
you, my Jesus, dear *

What Life Should Be Like

Anything that is not right
See to it to end this year
Start with a good step to freedom
Work in abundance in the heart
Train your mind in the way for wisdom
Learn from instructions of Elders
Condition your body and start running
Let God be your guide and your rudder
Prepare your heart for the gospel of peace
Obey the instinct of the Bishop of your soul
Life is a long way lackadaisical journey
So many stop, curve, and a long dash energy
It takes easy alone running without baggage
It takes happiness carrying baggage with love
Freedom is slavery without hindrances in going
Victory awaits for those who love persistence
Your going has obstacles and stumbling blocks
Don't cower in fear, rather overcome hindrances
Life is like that, there are nights, there are days
The sweet things every sunrise, there is sunset
Be constant in your desire to accomplish things
Never end the day working nothing or idle
Life is measured in terms of achievement
For at end of the day, life so tiring but gay
When the body take its meal, inert lay to rest
Eyes close in the night not to forget to pray.

A Selfish Request

Don't go before me, please stay awhile,
I want to remember your quirky smile
and your dancing eyes and the lilt of your voice
and the way you laughed when I gave you the choice
of marrying me or, something worse,
to wander the earth forever cursed,
unable to love or care for another,
and now we've become like sister and brother.
Grown old together, and set in our ways,
quarrelling, laughing and counting the days
when we are apart, two halves of the whole,
my morning papers, my Sunday morning stroll,
your Laurel to my Hardy, the quench for my thirst,
whatever will I do if you go first?

Don't go before me, have some regard,
life without you will be terribly hard.
How will I cope? It's impossible to tell.
Pictures and memories are all very well
but they'll never replace the smell of your hair,
or being in a room and knowing you're there.
Or squeezing your hand whilst you are sleeping,
or watching soppy movies and knowing you're weeping.
If you're not there I'll be missing all this,
your involuntary laughter, your goodnight kiss.
The way you wear your specs on your nose.
The startled look when you wake from a doze.
The Gods in their heaven will forever be cursed
if my prayers are unanswered and you go first.

If you do go before me I'll never forgive
the way you relinquished your willingness to live
and left me bereft of feeling, and more,
a ship without rudder, a boat without oar.
For without you, I'm nothing - a meaningless thing,
a quest without purpose, a bell without ring.
A pale imitation of a man that used to be,
blinded by a growing rage that would not let me see
any further than tomorrow, if you should go before
and leave me here floundering on life's barren shore.
For what good will I be without you in my life?
My friend, my companion, my partner - my wife.
If you do go before me, can I ask you to be kind
and don't walk too quickly - for I'll not be far behind.

Premium Member Divisions of Being

Love is thought
needing a subject
and predicate

lover and object
blossom and voyeur
dreaming fond connections,
often crossing taboos
of distance…
exchanging scents and feel,
the bow, rudder and keel
of relationship

Yet, that mystery remains

the lone whale basking
seeming above the ripples

the albatross on a still night
soaring on unseen current

a collapsed sail undisturbed
by bleeding sunlight

which will I be today?

God or His Man?

Speak Life: the Power of the Spoken Word

the rudder is the apparatus which steers the ship on its way
and some have liken it to the tongue of man and the words that we say
I often heard it say that the words that one speaks
will determine the outcome of that which one seeks
to speak negative is to promote bad things and things going wrong
but to speak life to speak positive is to promote things going well and being strong

the creative word is the language that is used by man
a way for us to communicate so that with each other we can understand
when God said, "Let there be light" light came to be
for the spoken word of God is the ultimate authority

so why did God use mere words to create everything that we now see?
could it be that the power in the spoken word is one that is totally?
for the words out of our mouths can hurt or heal
for the power of the spoken word in our minds is so real
we know that physical pain will ultimately fade away
but the words spoken to people in their hearts will forever stay

so don't speak negative, don't use words that can hurt, harm or kill
speak life, speak positive use the creative word as God will

I'M Not Stupid

When you’re stupid, it’s hard to succeed.
When you’re stupid, you’re always in need.
When you’re stupid, every moment is fear.
When you’re stupid, nothing is clear.

I’ve never been stupid, at least that’s what I thought.
I’ve never been stupid, learned all I was taught.
I’ve never been stupid, gotten all that I sought.
I’ve never been stupid, then one day I was caught.

Now I’m stupid, my lifestyle is not fun.
Now I’m stupid, I‘ll forever be done.
Now I’m stupid, no value to none.
Now I’m stupid, my wits no longer have won.

Advice to you stupid, hear these words that I’ve said.
Advice to you stupid, you’re still breathing, not dead.
Advice to you stupid, keep at it instead.
Advice to you stupid, life is beautiful, not dread.

Why am I stupid, I’ve lost all that I’ve known.
Why am I stupid, over 60, broke and living alone.
Why am I stupid, each day I’m overblown.
Why am I stupid, can’t find my way home.

OK, Stupid, your life’s in the gutter.
OK, Stupid, your heart’s all aflutter.
OK, Stupid, you’ve lost your life’s rudder.
OK, Stupid, it’s one way or the other.

Listen Stupid, you have only one choice.
Listen Stupid, celebrate every day and rejoice.
Listen Stupid, the world will hear your voice.
Listen Stupid, From that the lives you will hoist.

You’re not stupid, the world has changed.
You’re not stupid, it’s just been rearranged.
You’re not stupid, things just aren’t the same.
You’re not stupid, just have to keep playing the game.

I’m not stupid, I’m sharp as a tack.
I’m not stupid, just watch me react.
I’m not stupid, I’m prepared to attack.
I’m not stupid, You’ve not seen my last act.

The Captain of Destiny Industry

God asked Noah to construct an ark
He provided him a detailed instruction
God gave him a head start, prior to construction
It would have three decks, a door and a window as its bench mark

Then Noah And Sons Ark Company (NASAC) began its task
The ark had no rudder, so the folks laughed at Noah and his boat
It needed no rudder to steer it, it only needed to float
“Umm, God do you think we can fix a rudder on this ark?” Noah ask

“Noah my son, this is where most folks missed my boat
To need a rudder means you know how to arrive at your destination
My son I will steer you to safety, I am your salvation
I’ll finance the project; here you are with the bank note”

So NASAC constructed the ark out of their comfort zone
But how did Noah get all the animals on board?
God supernaturally directed the animals like a horde
About 80,000 animals went in, each identical sexes like a clone

It was full with thousands of animals with a smell of a zoo
Most of the animals who took a nap during the weary ride were bored
The King Lion, the Eagle and the Elephants were the Executive board
The young pigeons in the ark often “coo”

But was old Noah sure it would rain? Was it a mystery?
Did he project the atmospheric weather forecast?
Noah was indeed a wise man, he began to broadcast
No one heeded and the flood did come; it was the worst disaster in history

How many would buy a Jaguar without a steering wheel?
Are you so wise fixing your own rudder?
To steer around the mountain you encounter?
Rest in Him, for He predestinated you for the good pleasure of His will

By faith Noah, being divinely warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became a heir of the righteousness which comes by faith. Heb 11:7

Stranger

My heart egos and my life drained from me
Simple life I live, I act as I know all
But I know not, no, not even a little
I earnestly seek for recognitions
But my life and my heart is a hole.
An empty vessel, soulless, loveless

I have been succumb by the pain of heart aches
I have become a broken man,
Know not what my future holds
I envy those who went before me, who were acknowledge

I hold on to the little shred of hope in me,
I am being drowned by my own sorrows.
Love, hate, a new beginning and ending of my old self never seems to happen
My wrath against my enemies is nothing for they humor me with insults.
Let not death come to me in misery and despair,
For life is full of joy and full of sorrows.

Love me, as who would love a stranger from nowhere.
Let my sorrows be taken away by the love of many
But at last, no one would.
Don’t cry for me, for no one knows me
They came before my grave and said “who is this man?”
“Why is the name not written?”
It is not written because I am nothing
Don’t shed a tear for the stranger such as me.

Life is like a dream on a calm sea,
As the captain gracefully steer and gently moves its rudder.
The passenger puts their lives in his hands,
A calm sea is the heaven of any sailor.
“So, where is my captain?”
The wind blows every so gently,
But my heart sinks gently into the sea;
Who will mourn for the stranger?

Drowned from my grief,
My faith begins to waver like a ship tossed around by the winnowing wind
My heaven, my calm sea turns against me as I sail the Galilean sea
“Where are thy words that calm the raging storm?”
Ay! I have no peace even in my passing.
I have not thy words of command,
For my faith has been tossed away by the hating winds,
Shallow, empty, and broken I lay here in an unnamed grave.

Only thy mercy will guide me to the third heaven!
Let my sorrows be washed away by the blood of the innocent lamp.
Let thy words be the honey drops for mine,
As this world knows only lies
Blinded by greed and lust,
They seek only to destroy of what they fear.
And my sorrows are tossed away by thy promises.
For thy compassion for lost sheep is great.

"Have I found peace?"
I have, for I know my heart is at rest when my body has aged
And my salvation has come
When I died with thy Words of truth
