As our journey begins
We never look back
Roman soldiers march only forward
To
New worlds and conquered lands
We travel with
Swords and hearts
Naively believing
Both are needed
To feed our lies
We learned
Lessons of greed and condescension
Others wept
As we flaunt our power
Yet we gave back many good deeds
Laws and roads
Wine and dreams
Truth or deceptions
We haunted them all
Saddled with civilization
We gave culture and art
Yet I the soldier still wonder
The right of our cause
Taking these tranquil moments
So that I gaze back to our past
Confirmations abound
On balance we advanced our faith
To better this precarious world
To discover life’s heartbeat

Grateful, Oh grateful, we do are grateful,
For this year you made merry and peaceful!
And you have been most humble God’s vessel,
Of love and concern- these all in you settled,
Joy to the angel, form of a mentor,

'O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?'
None have I yet, from my days so young, met in the pastures of my life and its
weeds. None hat met my plead nor steer for righteousness to bring me to the
light from this shaded skin and flesh. 'O wretched man that I am! Who shall
deliver me from the body of this death?'
That is my plead in motto; My forefront from sin. Sin - the wrong introduced
from the law; The law that shames the gospel; The gospel of Jesus Christ. Back
at when the day of Pentacost came and at when the Crucifixion Day fell; Hope
rose. The law was appended, but God's word never died, it prevailed.
Back at 'Day 1' in my life, I was born of a natural birth - A sinner. Just a fat little
sinner. I would toil with my birth parents and just get on their nerves! To cry 'n fret
when nothing's wrong. To eat and eat and eat and eat. And as we all know, when
we eat a lot, we "leave a lot" behind. But sneaking past the early years, to about
the 5-7 ages, I'd do the most craziest things, and boy did I get some whippings!
But those whippings led me to myself, and someone opened my eyes and found
me. 'O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?'
That question empowered me - and had me wondering. But someone had
found me. He saved me from a life of destruction. On June 17, 2001, age 8, I
went down in the Water of Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and that same
day, I spoke in tongues - God filled me and delivered me.
June 17, 2001, God wrote the obituary of Gavin D. Sumter - the sinner, and He
wrote the birth certificate of Gavin D. Sumter - the Holy Son & Child of God. 'O
wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?'
I'm proud to say that God has delivered me!
God is the sovereign God
who is equally sovereign and merciful
He's decided according to His wise decree
those that will bow before His rule
It's not dependent on human will
nor any of your own exertion
but wholly of God's loving mercy
such is His unfailing compassion
Scripture declares God told Pharaoh
I raised you up by my almighty power
to show it in my sovereign purpose
for My name be proclaimed like a divine shower
The mercy of God falls on His choice
those chosen by His irresistible grace
for God has mercy on who He will
this is God author of Redemption's case
The potter has authority over the clay
making one for His honourable use
the other fitted for dishonourable
but only God's sovereignty can choose
Let's give thanks to this God
for mercy unearned and undeserved
to us who deserve His wrath
receive salvation freely preserved

In the Bible book of Romans there is a simple way
To know the way to heaven that you can know today.
The first truth we must realize is there’s not a righteous one;
In Romans three it’s stated—verse ten says, “There is none.”
We’re shown that we are sinners, as shown in chapter three;
Verse twenty-three says clearly it includes you and me.
Then we must know the sentence: it’s a death that separates
Us from a home in heaven in an eternal state.
That passage there in Romans starts out in chapter six,
Verse twenty-three states clearly the penalty is fixed.
We see the reason for it in Romans chapter five:
Verse twelve says one man sinned then, now all who are alive
Have this sentence passed upon them, but now look at verse eight!
For Christ has paid the sentence, we can enter heaven’s gate!
As we go back and read it in chapter six again,
Verse twenty-three has good news of forgiveness from our sin!
We all have earned the wages of death to come some day,
But God’s love has provided eternal life this way:
His gift, Christ dying for us, we now by faith receive:
The act of Him receiving is simply to believe.
For chapter ten and verses ten through verse thirteen
Explain the simple process that can be clearly seen:
Confess now the Lord Jesus, with your heart now believe,
And call upon the Savior, this new life to receive!
Then we can know forever that we are justified,
Secure in Him forever who for us one day died.
See Romans five, verse one now; see Romans 8:1, too;
Then read the final verses to see this blessing true.
Start at verse twenty-nine there and see God’s wondrous love,
And how He has secured you that home in heaven above!
Yes, in this book of Romans a road God clearly shows
How we can go to heaven, and for sure it we can know!
