A signal to arise.
I saw it in your eyes.
Reveille.

In good company
Aroused in your bed
Reveling with you
Reveille.

A celebration of the bugle
Your eyes of blue
So close to sunrise
Alive with boisterous excitement
Reveille

Awakened in no time
Every day a new one
Yielding to your arms
Your trinkets with magical powers
Keep us not asunder
Reveille

Tis cold this time of year
Whispering sweet nothings in your ear
Aloud with temper
Under the covers
Consumed and alert
Daybreak for Saturnalia
Reveille

And should I sleep
Away the hours
Under Sun and Moon
My romantic muse
Your castles in the sky
Visions of you
My fool's paradise
And it's cool sheets.
Reveille.

A dream of a rustling
Amongst the flowers
Plumb dumb
With much attention
A revelation
Of our affection
Forever young
Is your fine
Devotion.
Reveille.

Premium Member Tend Your Spinach - Rev 2

Oh when I was a child I loved Popeye cartoons,
Guess there’s no real accounting for any kid’s taste,
But you always knew spinach was up Popeye’s sleeve,
And that bullies like Brutus would soon be disgraced.

“Just deserts!” to all thugs what the world hungers for,
“In the kisser!” whatever their color or stripe,
“Missing spinach” like kryptonite something to fear,
Till at last Popeye sucks in its green through his pipe.

But it’s Popeye’s resourcefulness that saves the day
And the vegetable really a means to an end,
For the spinach is mindless, along for the ride,
So though green stuff is “good”, maybe “best” is a friend!

Premium Member Trilogy of Nonviolence Advocates Rev King Jr Attys Mandela and Gandhi!

The "Trilogy of Non-Violence" advocates peacefully uplift humanity
Humanity is to behold a peaceful way of overcoming the struggle of life.
Life, where all souls are valuable and with love are diminishing hate
Hate! Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. states, "Driven out by the light."

Light of the world for humanity to see shining bright, eliminating darkness
Darkness, which Attorney Nelson Mandela survived in gloomy dungeons.
Dungeon of despair, trying to rent his humility, spirit, and soul without relent
Relent, he withstood, overcame with God's grace, seeking peace, not revenge!

Revenge develops turmoil in humanity's mind and soul—"So agonizing!"
Agonizing the spirit to do ill will toward others without peace—Violence!
Violence Attorney Mahama Gandhi pronounced is inferior to non-violence
Non-violence is strength emanating from an indomitable will of humanity.

Humanity diligently erased images of the beast, displaying its ugly appearance,
Rev. Dr. King, Jr. Attorneys Mandela and Gandhi defeating such ugliness!

Stanzas One, Two, Three And Growing

There was “She Played the Harp”(1), when I truly was young,
“Ode to Verde Lee Allen”(2), a stop on a rung,
Loving women has always been easy for me,
For their beauty’s not found just in eye of beholder
Even boys with weak eyes don’t need glasses to see
Their humility shining each day they get older.

Where humility’s lacking man struggles with fate,
Overconfidence means that you don’t acclimate
It’s not really a question of “born smarts” or “brawn,”
More that Nature’s corrections are seen as God’s feedback,
That your life is still open, you haven’t withdrawn,
And in love you find warmth that sustains you through setback.

And it’s not just in loving a woman you grow,
Sometimes love’s greatest gift might be letting her go!
Is there dream that she has you can’t see as a goal
Or a burden relationship puts on your nature?
Is it selfishness that you respect your own soul,
Or that you can find value in her new adventure?

Going Beyond Four

Many men find that failure creeps past each new door,
For maturity slows pretty close to age four.
A man’s passion to be right, to win, may not serve!
Must your bad dreams cry “Uncle” or end with a whimper?
Does your stiff upper lip suggest you might lack nerve?
Do you go for a smile or just settle for simper?

Are you faking success when you could have been real,
Maybe better to stay with how you really feel?
Is it possible you’ve become tool of your press,
Being right is a stress that can make a man weaker,
It’s a terrible burden, the need to impress!
And the “KISS”(3) principle might help you be a seeker.

Poet's Notes:
(1) "She Played the Harp" and
(2) "Ode to Verde Lee Allen" are fun poems in this collection honoring two of my grade school love interests. :-)
(3) The “KISS Principle” suggests that the wise “keep it simple!”

Premium Member We'Re Human That's the Rub - Rev 1

It's fun to dream of 'better,' but just how? The way's not clear,
For 'better' might cost something that impacts our evening beer!
Now Donald (and the gullible) all tell us they're in charge,
Although I wonder if that's true? The future's looming large!

Some things Don says are "small" (just a mote to beholder)
I'm certain's a log in my eye, (could be boulder!)
If sunny or clear I'm expecting more rain,
If a bumper crop comes, hail will likely cause pain!

If something's works well that's its choice,
Why rock the boat and add my voice?
A 'duct tape' patch can work you see,
Besides his shift is done in three.

I've just one time around, let me sniff a few roses,
Let somebody new play the hero, make poses.
What's broken? Should I care what's starting to rust?
If he's ever found out, he'll just 'pardon' his dust!

Oh, Donald and Republicans can label fact fake news,
The truth is that his 'roof is gone,' their brains are stuck in 'cruise!'
And global warming's added now to list of coming woes,
More stuff to leave undone, why 'sweat' the future we compose?

Poet's Note:
Is 'Human' already a new euphemism for 'Stupid? Move over dinosaurs! Here we come! A single meteor was all it took to end the dinosaur's reign. Will human pride (our vanity) drown intellect? God help us!

God sends blessings in many different form
Some pass you by and go unnoticed
Others stay around for as along as you remember
God sent you to me
And made someone I'll always remember

Premium Member March Madness - Rev

As madness takes hold,
the valiant will stand.
They've only one goal,
must win to advance.
Go bold or go home.
Take matters in hand.
Seal the deal closed.
Become National Champ's.
Treasured strands of rope.
Welcome To the Big Dance.

It was a back-door deal.
ran through the lane.
Dish pass to low post
A Bunny Wins the game.

Premium Member Rev My Throttle

As last rose of summer opens wider
Night is drawing nigh, rose cutter in hand
The rose clipped in its best stage; placed in cider
Jar that was used up, cleaned_now it will stand

Jar of cider was enjoyed long ago
Remember that day on our honeymoon
You were so young with raven hair my beau
We found that road side stand that afternoon

Bought that jug of cider that was so cold
Refreshing after long ride around mountain
So eager for life that we would build_hold
Hold each other_life; wanting to obtain

I clip that rose_place in memory bottle
One memory revs my motor throttle

Premium Member Winter Wonder Land - Rev

It's wintertime again.
In little Michigan.
The eighty-foot pines
are swayed by the wind.
A clipper brings cold.
And drives more snow.
Here in little Michigan.
Our Winter Wonder Land.

Power at its best is
love implementing the demands

And win/win love

Power

love cooperatively implementing
win/win healing justice,

And EarthJustice

power

multiculturing beauty,
transformative love,
vulnerably peaceful

Premium Member A B C Poem To Rev My Engines

Alabaster annoyance
Blatantly breathes bulbous brightness
Cadaverous comedy caring
Daintily during delicate delivery
Exciting elderly enigma.
Furious fiery feeler
Gregariously greets
High-handed hustler
Ignoring imaginative immediates
Jauntily jeering judiciously.
Kangaroo kisses kibitzes
Leaving luxurious loners
Merrily masticating mincemeat.
Never-do-wells needing knowledge
Ostentatiously officiate on orange orangutans.
Precariously polite Pomeranians
Quietly quiz querulous quoters
Reposing rapidly ruining
Still sassy strenuous strikers
Turning toward Tuesday tournaments.
Understandably unprecedented underlings
Vindicate vicious vagrants
While wishing waxy widows would
‘xpect ‘xciting ‘xacting ‘xtras.
Youngish yellow yowls yipping
Zipping zany zebras’ zealous zero zone.

Premium Member Rev: 14;9

What if the mark of the beast was believing a lie
Not 666 that can be seen by the eye
When God makes it obvious and we see each a lie
The tools of the Devil to just get by
It’s well known who’s the father of lies
Yet not fearing God they give it wings to fly
Not fearing God swearing to believe the lie
Not fearing God verbally taking a side
It’s not a party with which they take pride
Where now a RINO becomes an accusation applied
They point a finger with three pointing back
The Mark on the head is what they think and hide
The Mark on the hand is when they act with pride
Never before we couldn’t see who we fight
But now God makes it obvious in which sin they delight
