Responding To Pain

RESPONDING TO PAIN

Why do bad things happen to good people?
A legitimate question as most answers seem feeble

Difficult circumstances, harm and pain are often inflicted
When righteous people struggle and sorrow so clearly depicted

We need to begin understanding along with defining ‘righteousness’
Clearly it’s not those who live their lives with justice and goodness

Fresh perspectives-- trials are not intentional things that befall us
Reaction to pain should be trying--striving to manage without fuss

When our love of God depends solely on what makes us feel good
Faith becomes dependent on circumstances- evidently misunderstood

Premium Member Not Responding

Pulling, I'm pulling,
I'm not responding either.
Jumping jacks inside my mind,
A froggy essence.

My mouth wants to hopscotch over every hill
Though it feels to be, in a sweet sadness,
trapped, shut, and forgotten as devices go.
     Just momentary spirits.
     A sweet sad spirit.
     the only vibrating
     in all this
                      not responding.

Responding Back To Her

something I had said
is better than the ringing
in my worn ear drum

Internet Explorer -Not Responding-

I'm having this problem. You see?
It's really cheezing me off,
I'm going to write to the internet
and I'm going to rage and scoff.

I'm trying to get work done
it just will not let me be,
trying to fix my poems and send email
but it keeps freezing up on me.

I'm going to punch the internet
yes . . . that's what I said,
if this "not responding" keeps up
I think I'll be heading off to bed.

I can not get anything done
the page being closed and popping up again,
the internet tonight is being ignorant
I guess I'll be heading off my friends.

Premium Member Responding To Nothing and Everything

Consider the definition others have of you
what’s the first thing that people would say?
is patience the first thing on their lips?
or is it rashness that describes your way?

Patience is hard to find in so many
but especially so when you’ve nothing
then it takes real strength of character
deep down raising that certain something

Then you go to the opposite spectrum
when you have everything nothing to lack
that’s where the right attitude must be
real spot on humble with respect on track

When you’ve everything it’s so very easy
especially to think of just yourself alone
it takes discipline to remember other folk
be sure be kind and loving make no moan

To respond to nothing and everything
in a manner that you are defined
takes super strength and wisdom
revealing someone with a beautiful mind

He Had Started Responding

He had started responding
To death tapping at his door
Fog crowded on his glasses

He was a medical student
Carcinogens had loved his pancreas
Would you mind coming with me
The growing fog said

Could the young stallion
Hear the mortal footsteps
While making love
With the green meadows

It came to a standstill
The handler was at a loss
Did the green ground
The purple mounds
Lose interest
In the equine vibration

The handler complied with
The animal Instinct

It followed the hospital smell
It pursued the smell of death
Went straight to the deathbed

Breath was taking time to arise
From the darkening lungs

The stallion's nose wandered
On his face and arm

Then it stood still
Deep eye to eye communication
Between animal and human

Smile couldn't stop
Its footsteps on his lips

The fresh scent of life allured him
He could feel the doors
The stallion had opened
With love

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING TO MY ENTREATY

Thank You for responding to my entreaty’s earnestness
With Your loving goodness
Within Your will’s graciousness
Without any uncleanness.

With Your ready provision
Within Your bounty’s satisfaction
Without any interruption.

Thank You for responding to my entreaty’s fervency
With Your merciful persistency
Within Your plan’s constancy
Without any insufficiency.

Thank You for responding to my entreaty’s plight
With Your welcoming delight
Within Your kindness’ light
Without any blight.

Thank You for responding to my entreaty’s predicament
With Your sovereign involvement
Within Your answers’ fulfillment
Without any detriment.

Thank You for responding to my entreaty’s fire
With Your joyful lyre
Within Your righteousness’ desire
Without any mire.

Premium Member Responding To Jesus

The wise men came to WORSHIP him.
They worshipped and GAVE to him.

The shepherds came to SEE him.
They saw him and REPORTED what they saw.

Herod attempted to KILL him.
He FAILED in his attempt.

Our response to Jesus means everything.
It can alter the course of our entire lives.

ANGELS announced him to the shepherds,
and the shepherds went to see him.

SCRIBES cited prophetic scriptures of him.
Angel redirected the wise men to protect Jesus.

The WISE MEN came to WORSHIP him.
They worshipped and GAVE to him.

The SHEPHERDS came to SEE him.
They saw him and REPORTED what they saw.

HEROD sent men to KILL him.
He FAILED in his attempt to kill him.

What was YOUR first response to Jesus?
Was it positive, negative, or neutral?

How do YOU presently respond to him?
Is it positive, negative, or neutral?

Premium Member Listening Hearts, Growing Minds

Open your ears, it's time to hear,
All the sounds both far and near.
Focus your mind, don't let it stray,
Listen closely to what others say.

Try to understand each word,
Make sure every sound is heard.
Remember the things that people share,
Show them that you care.

Ask a question if you're not sure,
To make the meaning crystal pure.
Nod your head to show you're there,
Listening with love and care.

Don't interrupt, wait for your turn,
Patience is a skill to learn.
Look at the speaker, eye to eye,
As their words float by.

Think about what's being said,
Store the info in your head.
Respond with kindness, show respect,
That's how good listeners connect.

Listening is a superpower,
Use it every day and hour.
It helps you learn and helps you grow,
And lets your friendships warmly glow.
