Abandon Dead Trails And Thy Sybarite Lust
If Nature's earthen-fires thy bosom holds
and thy heart's countenance mind's eye thus sees;
life serves best those adventurously bold,
walking worn paths, resting under its trees.
Seek in truth the great beauty God has made
the opulence of colors in blue skies;
let not dark, thy human empathy degrade
to sorrows that in turn, love's joys deny.
Instead, denude kings of their purple cloaks
and the golden castles they have stolen;
take time to visit regale forest oaks,
ride the rapids of rivers swift and swollen.
Abandon dead trails, thy Sybarite lusts
in Nature's awe, seeking heart there adjusts.

Welcome New Poet To Poetry Soup,
I offer you a warm smile, in hopes you come back another day.
From the moment I spot your name on the new poet list,
I roll out the welcome mat, in hopes you will stay
I am not afraid of you, I will approach you to say hello
I will Annoy you until you stop by and say "YELL-OW!"
Please have patience, when my ink has no flame
Don't be intimidated by The Poet Destroyer's name,
I'm sweet looking like a lollipop and fun like a kitten
"Warning!" Don't get too close or you'll be smitten,
You can choose to adore or instigate petitions of envy
When it comes to PD
Even then I am a friendly poet, protected by God's loving levee
It's time to introduce myself, call me Linda or PD
Unless, you're in constant warfare for the dominance of poetry
Then by all means, express yourself retard-ly
Verbalize my name, in any which way you like
Call me The Poet Destroyer, when tapping the mic
All though many here know I'm more of a Poet Supporter
A comment crusader, a poetic hoarder
I have no shame in my game,
I give, I love, I treat everyone the same
Unwind, Enjoy all the Xoolness coming to your direction
Inspiration, Contest, Friendly Poets, Poems, and Dedications
I am not a mentor, I'm not a preacher advocating the perfect poem
I am me, original as can be, in time you will seek out my troupe
Reminiscing, over the time I was your first,
Regale with loving respect, don't judge my hunger and poetic thirst
To all new poets I promise, I'll be faithful and follow you like a star
Unless, you forget to put gas while side showing in my crystalline car
Don't worry, New Poetic Poe, I got your back
Taunting you with a copy paste smack
Call it a "--Statement--" call it what you want
I call it, Love From PD, enjoying the community
With a simple hello, and peace out spree
CONGRATULATIONS, to all who made it through the years
Ain't nobody here worth more than you and your poetry
Take this time, and introduce yourself my new friend
Remember New Poet:
If it weren't for you, this place would be 2005 all over again

Fireflies danced amongst the shrubs,
Nocturnal fragrance filled the garden,
Sweet melodies of violin
Wafted into the serenity
Of our quiet neighbourhood.
How could I not dream of my love?
On the hammock beneath an old oak
I lay swinging gently to the tune,
A rhapsody weaving a magical spell.
Thoughts drifting into night's allure.
Will she come to me to count our stars?
Would she regale me with many a kiss
As passionate as each nebula
That adorned so heavenly our sky?
There the trill of the nightingale
Suddenly hushed as she approached.
I felt elated with the anticipation of love.

Fly away, oh restless heart
seek thy rainbow’s end
Leave me to my reverie
spirit now to mend
Find your way, my restless heart
winging toward the sky
May you reach a place of peace
and know the reasons why
While I sojourn deep within
walls meant to surround me
Venture forth and eye for me
things that will astound me
Comfort me with tales of joy
regale your mythic travels
Then fly home, oh restless heart
before my sense unravels

Seems like I could be on top of the world.
I think about poetry like my tongue is pearled.
Just the other day I wrote a poem to honor another poet.
I spun around in a spin to unfurl to the Soupers whorled.
I know they think they’re the bombshell.
They are big headed and believe their words cast the spell.
They vortex puts us in a whirlpool.
They billow swells.
Soupers let’s keep it real.
The universe zeal.
We entertain each other with our thoughts.
Poetry is our appeal.
We write to regale.
Anything else considered is to no avail.
I laugh aloud.
Soupers the advantage is a tall tale.
I am here to share-out.
That there is such a thing as an amateur in the house.
I know many fill the title of a poet professional.
This is where real skills are grandeur and profound.
Soupers, the truth expose.
A writer’s right shows.
Angstrom to a wavelength, the brain thinks and the mind depicts.
As a Poetess, here I throw it to the wind; that it is you with the *******.
To the Souper who asked for a rebuttal to his slam.

The river looks calm and inviting,
a natural gift of beauty.
Waterfowl inhabit to feed and nest.
A gateway shared by creatures,
dangers hidden beneath.
The river is beautifully calm and serene,
its powerful dangers are often unseen.
Currents can swirl hidden from shore,
tragically become be a drowning door.
A natural resource to respect and admire,
a gift of nature that will never expire.
Unique with brackish water properties too,
with legends of sea creatures venturing through.

Tinting crimson-colored clouds;
a blood-red sun sinks from sight.
And Luna slowly ascends,
sculpting shadows with Her light.
Luna's majestic rise can
induce a hypnotic trance.
For, She is a sassy sprite;
and muse to both song and dance.
She adorns the black of space;
like an orchid in the sky.
And when She is in full bloom;
Her beauty warrants a sigh.
Baying wolves pay Her homage;
howling their melodic tune.
And regale the Queen of Night;
celebrating the full moon.
Despite pitting skin and scars,
She evokes wishes and dreams.
And on enchanted evenings;
dances upon sparkling streams.

"Same old, same old" say those sad, uninspired
People who feel that life should be required
Each day to regale them with something new,
Coax them with an irresistible view
That promises many a grand tomorrow,
Abundant joys beyond the status-quo.
Can't they see that sunrise, sunset, flowers,
Unglamorous duties, snows, spring showers,
Laughter, tears, family, repetition--
All blend to bring life plans to fruition?
Real life is a SPECTACULAR mission.

The month of October is a most delightful time of the year.
Though skies at times may be gray and the weather drear,
It proffers so many splendid opportunities for our delight,
Like the glowing hunter's moon casting its brilliant light!
Trees have donned their colorful robes for our viewing pleasure.
Languid Indian summer days linger with warmth that we treasure.
Golden pumpkins ripen for jack-o-lanterns and delectable pies,
And skeins of geese rule the pristine skies with their haunting cries!
Busy farmers reap their harvests ere the snows begin to fly.
Magnificent roses now silently close their petals with a final sigh.
Oak and ash logs are hewn for a winter night's glowing flame,
Nigh which folks will fellowship watching the Sunday game!
Happy children relish a hayride down a moonlit country lane,
Sipping hot apple cider and joining in harmonious refrain!
Later to toast marshmallows and enjoy hearty wiener roasts,
As they regale others by a roaring fire with tales of spooky ghosts!
Halloween parties bobbing for apples and scary costumes are replete.
The neighborhood echoes with anxious pleas of "Trick or Treat!
Nothing quite compares to the wonderful sights and sounds of fall.
October is nature's last resplendent spree ere come the wintry pall!

Trembles serenaded my heart
before the coming storm
affection was blowing toward me
with unburdened arms
in an unruffled evening with a fiery red sky
and continuous waves that drowned the shore
I embraced the silent space
in a moment caressed
satiny rhythmic sounds, music from the sea
added to the fluidity of her movements
in her summer dress of yellow
caught by the sea breeze to dance with each step
allowing a vision of perfection to be cast upon my soul
like a fisherman's woven net
She paused...
So my eyes could regale on her alone
and melt away with the fabric of time
where lovers dwell with measured caresses
and soft feathered fingers skimming across the skin
while the clock hand turned with each kiss
drifting slowly into a vanishing night
of star-light and moon glows
splayed upon the tender mouths of lovers
until a veil dropped
as we became silhouettes on the shore
revealing smoldering fires within
exposing our hearts with all their ashes
leaving flickering fervor where lovers lay
exploring dreams in a sanctuary of solitude
before being washed away...
by the dawn's incoming tide

I wonder, have we come to the end?
The world in chaos, in downward trend.
Is this all of our beautiful tale?
There's magic to ponder and regale.
Icarus led us so close we burned?
That's a lesson needing to be learned.
Is innocence tossed on ships of hate?
Temptation lingers beyond truth's gate.
Is majesty wondered or turned frail?
That's found in all, large and tiny-scale.
is a place found for wild in our world?
There's hidden magic in manes unfurled.
Imagining, where is beauty found?
The sunsets, stars, gentle evening's sound
Is life an illusion and then gone?
Trust in your heart, find forever's song.
Is earth to survive the tempest's wave?
That's on our shoulders to try to save.

What cherubim or spirits shall entreat
To preach the litany of thy beauty?
If rhyme and meter be the judge,
Then let my odes of bygone years
Fill dunes of sweet romanticism
With the stink of pusillanimity and nonsense.
Shall the minstrel regale thee in coquettish glee,
When springtime comes? What are his lyrics and songs
To describe the rapture of the gentle looks
That I long to hear alone.
Will spiteful maidens sob in the arms of their lovers
As you busily pass on the corner road?
What to speak of such frivolous indiscretion?
Only beauty without appellation will know.

TRIFLE WITH ME
O trifle with me zephyr wind —
too kind for my mood.
Your flirtatious regale
smoothly entices my smile —
stop that
A halo over my head,
the grandiloquence of the moon —
like the zenith of Everest,
a cordial candlelight
pulls at the corner of my lips.
The starlight spreads
like a quilt tossed into the air
over a child’s bed.
The night like velvet sings
celestial songs — nothing’s wrong.

Thou art no migrant bird, O Pink Beauty,
But forced art to fly many a long miles
Looking for fresh habitat and water,
In search of new breeding and nesting isles.
And in this search of a shallow wetland,
Ye fly hundreds of miles in patterned file.
Once there, watching ye take off on webbed feet,
Ah what a sight when ye lift off in style!
Thanks to vast wetlands getting polluted,
Despite thine number threatened art thou still,
What with habitats getting degraded,
Should ye lose out, oh what a cruel ill!
I watch when ye fly in flocks of thousands,
Then settle down sighting the right wetland
Or marshland, with friends and family bands,
What gorgeous a sight ye turn lifeless land!
And now a word about thine mating dance
That pairs of males perform to charm females—
Their magical synchronised head movements,
At climax a wing salute does regale.
It's strange, O thou Lesser Pink Flamingo,
Thou art no ‘lesser'— colour nor number,
Nor beauty, nor yet dancing style ye know,
Only size that thou art any humbler!
Soon as monsoon comes to its end, I think
Of thine flocks to turn wetlands a deep pink!
