Sickness comes ~ sickness goes
A warm nose ~ temperature measurement is important
You heard what the doctor said
Do not worry
You're a big boy now
Even though you're not feeling your best
I hope to see you get well soon
I know that it’s no fun
A juicy meat bone is waiting for you
Please ~ stand still

Amateur

Every sport man’s first ID card,
On him imposing, a period to be on guard;
When the slimmest interest shows in financial gain,
And inglorious quitting is the pain!
Not that affluence one does detest:
Mounting pressures from the east and the west,
One’s body and teeth sometimes rattling
While with an irksome low rating battling.

A time of anxiety about recommendation:
Occasional acting of one under intimidation.
Determined pursuits of excellence before judges:
One can The Amateur see as he sometimes budges.

Not the type to be heard dropping happy hums;
A continual heading for home with paltry sums
Likely to be rather caught writing his elegy
Because of his devalued burnt energy!

In football, members of countryside clubs
Making fortunate appearances in a local league.
On the pitch less of lions and more their cubs
And somewhat destined to enact scenes of less intrigue:
A status that doesn’t much thrills offer,
Its bearers’ faces undisclosed diseases suffer.

Unreadable ideograms
Beaten thin leaf to tenuous holds
Of failing parchments
Brittle in their folds of tears

Remember, they struggle for survival
In clasps ever present
Reverberate continual back down
The long lost corridors
Searching for the regurgitation of their meaning
Black and white memories
Of some sickness
Which threw off kilter
Every next days other day of life

The heat of its brand, a whimper
Kicked on late stirrings against a pillow sleeping
Fizzog fierce of demons forming
From an ugly defining rampage torturous

No recommendation
Other than a scar to pit against its will
Other than the pain burns continual
Of insubstantial rape
Its shame to twist and wring the neck
Till breathing burdened
Utters not
Its last and inconsequential gasp
Released

The lump constricted full of throat
Strives to cough up on agonies point
The vendetta it holds against the past
And its freedom overburdened by desire

Children, screaming into silence
With a wish of blooded nails
To scrub away the indelible marks
And eaten hours
Rips against the mirror inside a heart
Cold implacable bleeds
The warm vein of isolation
Designs its unreadable ideograms

Oval Office Recommendation

In the spirit of lowered expectations,
loyalty that’s street corner bought
This Oval Office recommendation
was given very little brothel thought

It was stamped with misogynist approval:
he’s a mighty fine spouse beater, first-rate
Just a good professional, abusive soulmate,
no need to investigate the first wife removal

This walking, angry crew-cut ticking bomb carrot top
comes highly recommended by the chief of staff
With a couple of cold brewskis, he will brawl it all out,
er, I mean ... bawl it all out, like a little bitty calf

He’s so Ivy League smart ... harmless as an Alabama tick,
just don’t ruffle his hawk feathers, or suffer the mule kick
It’ll knock your front teeth out, give you a real pretty black eye ...
I’m telling you, he ought to be your company’s new PR face guy

Did I mention, he really knows how to gin up the charm,
pint-size lunchtime doses will trigger his firewater alarm
So you best hide him secret good,
give him top-notch, straight jacket security protection
Don’t report the things you should —
we here at the White House didn’t learn our spin lesson

This suit comes with gold star recommendation invisible,
dust for prints on his portfolio before the law do though
Any damaging domestic violence FBI report
need to be OO executive toilet flushed
This clandestine meeting has to be cut short,
and kept on the down low hush-hush

A Special Recommendation

I completely trust Bob
On every tricky job,
For all that he knows,
The way his thought flows;
For his wisdom that grows.

Up Bob’s idea would bob,
From cynics snatching the power to rob…

Bob never was all his life, a half wit,
Even, The Best of The Really Fit,
Who could like a gas light
Keep a firm firmly bright
To all its corner lending a white!

So, please, do not him,
As advised by Lord Kim,
Cast into a Joseph’s pit;
Or our gains are already split!
