Premium Member Would You Still Love Me

Would you still love me ... perchance I was half a man?
My carnal, physical core torn from me like ragged raiment,
Off to war in courage and heroic sacrifice ...
Returned by God and country, as barely half of what I'd been -
The half that could never again join with you in passion ...
          Would you still love me?

Imagine I was a monster ...
     Deformed by happenstance or accident,
Still a man in the technical sense,
But with face and sinews that repulsed even himself,
Though the heart and spirit you adore still thrummed inside ...
          Would you still love me?

What if the day came - a reality as viable as any,
When I lost everything of earthly value and worth -
All possessions, comforts, conveniences, and financial securities - gone,
The talents and abilities and experience to support even myself,
Blown to the four winds by careless fate or folly ...
          Would you still love me?

Consider if I were human, inside-out ...
The abyssal and dark, troubled corners of my being
Worn on hapless bones like sodden skin,
The fearful ids and psyches, thus laid bare by illness or substance -
Free to dance like a demon for the porcelain moon ...
          Would you still love me?

And pray, what if I were YOU ...
And you were the reflection of all that your dreams dare weave,
The horror and ecstasy that awakens you in the night -
Shivers and turns to ice on your faultless, barren skin,
Choking the screams from your chest ...
Would you ... could you still love me??

Premium Member Untamed Heart

This is a collaboration with Susan Ashley, excerpts taken from her Amberina Ballerina poem. One of the best writes I've ever read, check it out!

Thanks Susan for your awesome work, I loved this and have high hopes for this song!

UNTAMED HEART

My untamed heart,
ruled by unruly wants
Sometimes in tatters,
but flatters and taunts

I played at life...
but life played me harder,
Lived bet to debt...
in life's Russian roulette

Chorus
I'm like a ghost ship,
stranded on breakers
searching for life, without any light
I rummage through...
my Psyches ruins
Dreams duel disasters,
but give up the fight

I place a wager...
speed into danger
My foolish whims,
scatter in mistral winds

Now tossed by waves,
by blind forces of fate
How they orchestrate,
time, distance and place

Bridge
Now all that's left...
lies fallow,
in fields of regret
Hopes of a new day...
are shattered
by a doomed sunset

Chorus
I'm like a ghost ship,
stranded on breakers
searching for life, without any light
I rummage through...
my Psyches ruins
Dreams duel disasters,
but give up the fight

Outro
Dreams duel disasters,
but give up the fight
Dreams duel disasters,
but give up the fight

repeat and fade

Psyches on the edge
Psyches going wild
Wild child oh so daring
Wild one hellish bold
Bold and downright brazen
Bold though fiercely blind
Blind to subtle logic
Blind eyed scourge
Scourge imposed on others
Scourge the plague of self
Self damned sinking vessel
Self whose clearly lost
Lost on deep meaning
Lost boon fellow now
Now I must reflect
Now transform or heal
Heal some wretched burden
Heal this stricken heart
Heart that beats with pathos
heart when wondrous glad
Glad a buoyant vision
Glad I promptly changed
Changed barren outlook
Changed complex-ridden life
Life as joyful premise
Life based on love
Love weaves magic dreams
Love induces spells
Spells I adopt
Spells alter mindset
Mindset yours or mine
Mindset chasing peerless time
Time a spur for dormant brain
Time awash with thinking
Thinking valued options
Thinking of growth
Growth of mental wellness
Growth our golden gift
Gift to cosset and explore
Gift as relish
Relish inner calm
Relish broad spectrum issues
Issues within reach
Issues sleight and grand
Grand scheme on horizon
Grand environment free
Free in every single sense
Free from vapid earthly care
Care…
Sense…

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

The Circle of Life

A predator among us.
A villian in our midst.
An entity of evil,
Clouding up our wits.
Preying on the innocent.
Devouring the strong.
A sycophant immortal.
Unbound by right and wrong.
White wool adorning
The curves of their form.
Cloven hooves dragging
on the ground with the worms.
No hoofprints behind them.
just the four toed paws
dotted at the tips
by their long and angry claws.
Nature is a cruel being.
Creating monsters in her storms.
No one understands
And everyone is torn.
The prey will always villify
those who are higher than they
on the food chains bottom
the sheep will always stay.
The wolves are meant to feed
without remourse consume
The psyches of the weak
to bring them to their doom.
The sheep will bleat and bellow
in fear of those wolves
And try to justify their blindness
by stamping hard their hooves.
Hiding in the herd,
the prey upon their back
the predators facade
turns their wool to black.
Such is natures way.
No one is at fault.
The circle of life.
The predators of thought.
For who can blame the hungry beast
for eating to survive
When you people create such feasts
And tantalize our eyes.
We can not feel guilty
for gaining our sustenance.
consider this my fealty
for i shall not repent.

Impaling Our Psyches

Hiding in daylight
concealing his teeth
Flying at night
in flocks of deceit
When fortune demands it
he says he’s a bird
When birds are in season
a flittermouse heard
He courses the difference
of right into wrong
Impaling our psyches
— with fears to prolong

Premium Member September of Nineteen Seventy-Six

September moon,
celestial skinny-dippers,
sangria soirée, so soused,
starlight swimming,
summertide celebratory,
singing soon sepia snapshots,
streaming in soulful sisterhood
psyches of sorrowful separating friends,
sadly, still scattered,
sweetly soliloquizing of
September of ‘76. ~

Autumn Adventure - Etheree

The
cool morn
makes him wish
for more sleep. Still,
he goes and takes in
nature’s treat: misty lake,
stony peaks, the colored trees,
autumn sounds and sights… poetry.
Humbled, he psyches himself to go down.
He conquered the proud mountain and was awed.

Premium Member Psychology Of Poetry

psyches of all bards and writers
synchronized crowd swimming in waters
yuppies and brave souls unheard by all
chanting audience in an imaginary stall
hearts we hide as words unfold
on paper and scrolls, always young never old
lasting ink or cellphone battery so strong
of thinkers and scribblers of prong
genetics of poetry or honed skill
your poetry in a song that inspires and fill

only the strong survives and remain
filaments of musing, project and pertain

poetic justice is justice for all
or no balance like a bouncing ball
ever and never will an artist to surrender or fall
triumphant in all writings, big or small
remnants of your undying soul
yours is the scepter and crown and tiara
  like winner takes all

Premium Member On a Dazzling White Horse

Our exquisite Queen of passion
Rides on a dazzling white horse
Within her hand she wields a pen
Describing adventures of course

She takes us to many places
So our own psyches we can explore
To the thoughts of former lovers
Or through imaginary doors

Within her realm she is fearless
A true warrior of the mind
Some say the passion whisperer
She can give color to the blind

The fountain of her thoughts endless
With her we travel back in time
To former days of gallantry
As we engage in every line

Mesmerized by her artistry
As we follow her where she goes
Eileen's sexy has no limits
Ooh la la licious as it flows

Dedicated to Eileen, our queen of passion.

        The Killing Field
	Bong Son,Viet Nam
Not All Dead, Returned In Body Bags
	Written: By Tom Wright
	1/21/03

The war in Viet Nam rages no more,
But what say ye of the animate dead?
Can we continue their plight to ignore?
Staring past the crimson flow they shed?

Pages from life were systematically torn,
Eyes beholding things, which they abhorred.
Returning, aged beyond years, and worn,
Spat upon by some, while by others ignored.

The war they fought some saw as failed,
Protests at home left psyches' battered.
Like the "Hippies" they could have bailed,
But doing the right thing, and duty mattered.

To those, whose loved one's stood deployed,
There was no time that prayer was lost.
Praying that life and limb be not destroyed,
While knowing, war exacts a colossal cost.

Ode To Palestine

Palestine:
The land of Zaatar, Zaytoon
and Lime

Palestine:
The land of progressive and loving people
 at her core.

The British Empire promised the rocky terrain
(From which the Empire yielded no fruit
 Nor money!)

 To displaced people:  The Jews;

The Jews called her
The promised land:
The land promised to them.
For at the heart of her is Jerusalem:
The town holy to both Mohamedians
And the Jews:
the loving cousins they were once.

Palestine:
Became a country of division, feuds!
A country of Bloodsheds
The country of bitter tears shed.

Palestine:
The land of people confined in unsanitary camps
Surviving on the margins:
Their minds becoming unsound;
Slowly !
 Day by day!
Like a blood tap turning into a blood sea.

Palestine:
The land of diseases,
The land of infant deaths
In sea of numbers
The land of famished folks,
The land of murky waters and no hopes.

Palestine:
Where the bitter seed of hopelessness
Is sown;
Turning into a thorny tree;
Bearing blood fruits!

Palestine:
The land of forgotten people,
The land of bitter feuds !

Palestine :
The land of peoples’ pleas
Unheard, unseen!

Palestine:
The land of peoples’ suffering
Unregistered in our collective psyches

Poetry is Lava Flow – A Poet’s Worth

If “the laborer is worthy of his hire”
is the poet worthy of his “fire”?

Poetry is lava flow
erupting from the heat below
scalding scent of hatred’s heat
simmering haze of passion sweet
curtain call on molten stage
setting pen and page – ablaze.

Release the seeds of joy or pain
erase the psyches crippling stain
dance around the flame that frees
dance across the lettered keys.

Heed the rumblings at the core
of inky lava seeking shore
freed from the belly of the beast
eased by cool of steamed release.
