Twenty-twenty on his deathbed lies.
Most saw him with disapproving eyes.
Some prospered as they watched him grow.
But many looked at him
as a son of woe. Though
no wars did he bring -
his praises we
shall surely
never
sing.

In
our minds
has grown an
embryo – our
hopes now pinned on him.
This unborn child – will his
youth be sweet or grim? Will we
be proud to watch him grow? One can
never know! Oh, Twenty-twenty-one,
in your brother’s footsteps please don't follow.

Premium Member The Accolade

Fighting mid the strong and bold,
His eye and blade were keen;
Marching like a thund'ring storm
On foes of Faith, his queen.

Now returned in victory
Upon his mighty bay,
Set he off to Langley Tow'r
Her summons to obey.

"John the Squire," the footman called,
And held the oaken door;
Faith, it seemed, had gleaming eyes
Like never once before.

"John! 'tis good to see thee hale,"
The queen exclaimed, and rose:
Tales have sped to Langley's gates
Of many broken bows."

"God has saved me whole and well,
By prayers, I ween, of thee;
Tell me please, my lady Queen
What service I may be."

Saying thus, the squire bowed
And doffed his burnished helm;
Struck in awe by Faith, his love,
The queen of Arthur's realm.

"Gilbert saith," rehearsed the queen,
"That deeds of thee are done
Greater yet than those of Wat
Or even Henry's son."

Tears bedecked her youthful face,
And glistened in the light;
John the Squire, as she had hoped,
Had done her favour right.

"Nay!" the humble squire cried,
"This word is not so true!
How could I, the meanest squire,
Perform the deeds they do?"

"Hush!" It was a firm command;
"I'll hear these lies no more;
Kneel before me, Squire John,
A knight shall leave the door."

Down before the queen he knelt,
He pledged his knighthood true;
Swore her ev'ry small command
With cheerful heart to do.

From his side she drew his sword,
She struck the accolade;
"Thus the greatest knight," she said,
"Is from a squire made."

From her hand the sword did fall,
It clashed upon a stone:
"John, if battle claimed thy life,
How could I be alone?"

"God has prospered all my ways;
My Queen, I praythee, cease!
Soon these wars shall claim our foes,
And Britain be in peace."

Faith remained there by her throne,
With light upon her hair;
Not one maid of Camelot
Was even half so fair.

"God be with thee evermore,"
She bravely said at last;
"Guard and keep thee from the foe
Until the very last."

John the Knight farewell did bid,
And swiftly rode away:
When the wars were hammered out,
He'd be a king in May.

Now Your Love, Dwells There In Hellish And Lost Dreams

    Deep the cold at foot of our abandoned bed
    where roses wilt, praying early frost to die
    Green-eyed monster laughing loud to be fed
    your new "friends" gladly providing the lie
    No pleasure in revealing this most foul deed
    no solace in showing past pain in new light
    Was too late once you took on the bad seed
    turning once bright day into darkest night

    What of fantastic past joys we had both shared
    morns wrapped in warm bodies refusing to rise
    In darkness, my soul and heart was ensnared
    took years to recover from that surprise.

    Now your love, dwells there in hellish and lost dreams
    My spirit glows in relief, in love's true streams.

Confronted with conflicting self-forces
my flesh groans in adversities’ braces
gripped by haughty human nature that reigns
over flawed sinful carnality strains.

Granted with grace of redemption by Christ
my soul owns His eternal life, blood-priced
along imputed righteousness divine
changing me from iniquities’ design.

Quickened toward God-consciousness delight
my spirit yields to Almighty light
striving to win own personal battles
smiting selfishness, pride and greed rattles.

Settling to choose best in dilemmas’ test
my faith seeks truth from Scripture wisdom nest
believing immutable verities
learned well from discipleship certainties.

Created in God’s image: wondrous deed
my essence is complete through Him indeed
made functional through ministerial acts
living for Him, reaching-out midst peace-pacts.

Staying in the center of the Lord’s will
my heart contented, with love He does fill
while satisfied by His faithfulness’ bliss
prospered in glad service I cannot miss.

Blest with uniqueness of distinct beauty
my being finds worth in Jesus’ bounty
He values me through His compassion wealth
enriching* personhood by divine health.

Love and Hatred

Twin brothers born of humanity
Raised in the heart land
Fed by circumstances
Shaped by choice
Same freedom
Different destinies

I saw Love grow with limbs
Stretching wide to pull everything
To himself even hatred
And i saw hatred grow with craws
Hiding them in his bosom
Till they grow longer and stronger

I thought this Love kid was too touchy
And i treasured Hatred he was for special occasions
Defending my weaknesses and flaws
Love was ridiculing my my all efforts
He was becoming extravagant, giving this giving that
Not like Hatred a sweet heart who measured
According to what he treasured

Years have gone by and
Love has prospered with many friends
Many people giving back to him
Yet hatred brought out his claws,
His fangs came out
And he grew three horns

One of rejection
another for despair
And bigger one with this word engraved 'loser'
I watched these twins
Walk different directions like light and darkness
Their waring grand fathers

I walked two their birthday parties
Few turned up, gave him crowns and called him Dad
For hatred the party was noisy
Many gathered worshiped him
In fear of the horns
Love commanded his servants to dress all that came
with compassion, faithfulness, and honor
Hatred commanded his subjects
To kill every one that came for the party
Many died few survived

The Cycle

Foreword: I wrote this piece in 1984. Seems kind of prophetic now.

On this day in time,
time ceased to exist;
because of the taste of greed,
men couldn't resist.

They wanted more oil,
they wanted more land;
So they bombed little countries,
and made their demands.

The killed men and women,
and children of every age;
There just seemed no stopping,
the big country's rage.

Now the little country decided,
to share all it's wealth;
It was in the best interest,
of their national health.

So they gave and they gave,
til there wasn't any more;
And finally decided,
they should prepare for a war.

But the big country had vanished,
when no more was gained;
And moved on to the next,
helpless country to attain.

Now the little country rebuilt,
and became very strong;
And they swore that no country ,
would again do them wrong.

They grew and they prospered,
and a mighty army they had;
That would accept any fight,
and be only too glad.

But soon they had found,
They needed more oil and more land;
So they bombed little countries,
and made their demands.

This cycle rolled along,
and all small nations would grow;
And the stage was all set,
for the world's final show.

Now on this day in time,
time ceased to exist;
Because of the taste of greed ,
men could not Resist.

Winter Opus

Winter
Slow ghost in fields of thought
Giver of the inward memories,
turning outward the sigh
of loving and of life
that through the ages remains.

Visible breaths in the blue
Portraits of time
from a barren silence
where once prospered
the sea of sweet words.

Frosted Earth, frozen embryo
Something has stifled
the summer's witness
and brought to our sight
the unfolding
white-woven night.

All is calm under the chilled air,
among the dull houses
and streets of uncertainty.
The mind burns brightest
in the bitter winter,
in long, lonely walks
through the gleaming dream,
embracing with a grin
the swaying winds
and trees that scream.

I Can Only Imagine

Two became one and there was one.
In your likeness one was made one.
Like the seed of a farmer,
I prospered as a tree by the water.
I see your light under the sun;
And sing for joy for all you've done.
I breathe your peace under the moon;
And hear of ur glory in the noon.
I think of your goodness and wonder;
And feel your love so tender.
I can only imagine the depth,
Of your love. Even to death,
You loved me. I can only imagine,
How you love me. I can only imagine.

My Mom My Star

You've listened to me talk.
You've listened to me cry.
You were always there for me.
I asked myself, "Why?"

It's not just that you're my Mother.
It's because you are a friend.
Loving me the way I am..
It's not hard to comprehend.

You were meant to be my Mother.
I'm so proud of you, for sure.
Your loyalty, your faithfulness..
In my Life it was the cure.

This gift of YOU I cherish.
I say this from my heart.
If it was not for you.
I could have fell apart.

Instead my life it prospered.
Your LOVE guided me through.
If you didn't love me..
I don't know what I would do.

You show me very often.
That you truly care.
When I flew off the cuff..
You caught me in mid-air.

Thank you so much..
for being who you are.
My Mother I do Love you.
You are a shining star.

The Claddagh

With the heart
Love is shown
With the hands
Friendship grown
With the crown
Loyalty, give
With all three
It’s best to live

The symbol of the claddagh
For all to behold
Is a symbol of faith
A story to be told
For Richard Joyce
Captured, enslaved
Prospered as goldsmith
the claddagh he made

Pride

All I've ever accumulated was
    pride
Everything I've accomplished was
     me by my side.
I gave praise to me, my beauty,
    my knowledge and my
        skills,
I sought out the praise from
    others, and boy was it a
       thrill.
I challenge anyone who thought
    they were better than
       me,
No one stepped up, as far as
    my eyes could see.
For I only saw me, myself
    and I,
I'd prospered quickly, I had
    multiplied.
But then life fell hard on me,
It's the kind of thing that
    brings you quickly to
       your knees.
I stood with nothing, not even
    pride,
I lower my head in shame, I closed
    my eyes.
I said in a whisper because I felt
    so ashamed,
"Please forgive me  in
    Jesus' name."

An Independent Party Partaking

An Independent Party Partaking

She seemed to thing the show was so splendid
When I myself was really glad it now ended
Before was the worst one I had ever seen
Which party over should I start to lean?

Being pictured as a perpetual procraster
Why even try to put it past him or her
On economy both parties are being a drain
Who should we call asset facts still remain.

After all of the money and funds were spent
Decided to form new party which was independent
Of all the other two parties rhymes and reasoning
Which would have prospered with proper seasoning.

What might being independent on your own mean
Figure of speech to be heard, spoke and seen
When you want to eat hearty and be a smarty
Ironically start forming an independent party.

This I consider as more Will Rogers symbolism
I presume can be seen in his personal prism
If you constantly completely read catechism
Are surely less likely to start forming a schism.

Premium Member Life On Mars

Six tiny feet softly padded through dark passage,
inherent sensory abilities guide the way.
Sight, smell, taste gleaned in clearest detail.
The ancient surface society, once quite different,
shed optic devices in the imposed subterranean life.
One little Martian was on a walk,
a favored pastime of his kind.
Mars now a labyrinth of tunnels and caverns,
built by the Early Ones after the Great Storm.
Once a lush world of fauna and waterways,
the Great Storm pummeled and scorched the planet.
In retreat to the safety of underground havens,
society adapted through vast ages and thrived.
Mars now airless, cold, devoid of water,
held great resources deep under the surface.
Huge reservoirs of mineral rich water,
flora in abundance produced sweet oxygen.
Free of ancient distractions, wealth, property, war,
Martian interest lay in art, music, and social bonding.
Life in a secure world devoid of harmful influence,
allowed and encouraged travel and interaction.
New born Martians developed quickly to self sustain,
family units would then disband to travel, once again.
Exploring the galleries of Mars, creating new unions,
a population, one family, strong and unified in purpose.
Martian life was rich in song, art, and oral lore,
experience passed from citizen to citizen freely.
Each new enclave offered welcome and opportunity,
a place of safety, home, open to all.
The spirit of life thrived and brought contentment,
in social unity all prospered of body and soul.
Six tiny feet softly padded through dark passage,
excited, filled with hope for what was in wait.

Dinosaur

What are these ancient creatures?
Which once dominated the earth
Left a mark which we will never forget
They came and saw during the Triassic era
And they continued their reign all through the Jurassic era
Before we starting spending pounds or dollars or Lira
230 million years ago
They dealt with the mammals of their time
With just one blow
And devoured other reptiles as well
Nice and slow
They ruled the seas and oceans almost completely
And they hunted for preys on land quite discreetly
Pterodactyls controlled the skies before the coming of jets and drones
And they communicated with their peers without the need of cellular phones
They lived through the ages for more than a hundred million years
And were the masters of lions and even big brown bears
Before the coming of *****sapiens
They roamed the sands
And conquered other animals in many distant lands
With its blade like teeth and an enormous jaw
Tyrannosaurus Rex was the largest carnivore they ever saw
But my favourite was the herbivore, Triceratops
He could repel an attack by the T- Rex until it stops
And had two horns on its fore head like the sign Taurus
With huge talons on its feet that looks like gladius
And the dumbest was the plant eating Brachiosaurus
With its long neck which made it look simply ludicrous
The dinosaurs prospered and flourished
And they were all over the place
They were man’s predecessors
And ushered in the human race
By design the dinosaur was no bird or reptile
But it may have comprise of the two
Because its spine stood erectile
Always looking for something to bite or chew
One day an asteroid came crashing down
And wiped them out
All the dinosaurs who used to live in our town
The proof of their reign
Lies deep in the soil
While their fossils remains
Their flesh became crude oil
