In a world full of unwelcome nightmares,
I recite dreams of poetry to the one who cares.

I'm pondering a perfect metaphor,
trying to portray my mum's devotion.
Thinking about what her heart adores,
releases a fountain of emotion.

I'm surrounded by perennial petals and poignant poetry,
yet unable to bloom words or blossoms
to justify her prestige and preciousness.
On days of darkness,
in the angst of a black and white world,
when life felt like a kaleidoscope of chaos,
you placed reflective rainbows in my soul,
reminding me that life is a painting and you are the artist.
Gifted me a box of crayons to create my own horizons,
so I could discover a dream in all colours -
living in a daydream of aesthetic artistry.

When constant commotion from crows
left me mute like a silent nightingale,
you showed me how to love in silence,
healing these wounded wings -
to ensure I would continue to soar.
For a boy in a fatherless existence,
life can be a wild game of survival,
so I feel for a child without a mother's love,
deprived from a treasure chest full of diamonds and gold.

Without you there would be no words or roses,
as you were the first verse in my poem -
the sweetest heavenly scent.
If only there was a field of forever flowers,
with prosperous promises of an Edenic eternity,
then I would always have you by my side.

Premium Member The Showering Lotus

Endearing the gods of enlightenment, dip tenderly into the rainbows
Color band of intrinsic light, softly breathing, as the hushed breath of
A morning doves first coo of life, the lotus flower does blossom and bloom.
Infusions delicate creation floating in the still pond of the everlasting,
Drifting, swaying at the mercy of life's strife, yet in harmonious peace
Its beauty remains perfections timeless jewel, sparkling beneath the mid-eastern
Sun.
Bending does the reddest rose, yielding it's petals to the keepsakes heart
Most sacred inner place, a whirl winds tidal storm of emotions contemplation
Point of origin, it bleeds with a crimson preciousness,
Tangled are the vines woven to and fro, but rich is the human soul.
Floating, cascading cherry blossom's dance, amongst the winds of
Destiny's air, ever gently whispering of loves softness, comforting warmth
Within the arms of lovers devotional vows.
These are the delicate tokens of the for-get-me-knots, showering of the
Lotus, a blending emergence, behold the feminine
Oh let the captive sparrow sing so softly the notes of spring, let her soar
Amongst the eternal skies of white clouds beneath liberation's whitest
Wings of grace.
Upwards, lifted upwards to touch and caress the distant sun above,
Little bird spread your delicate appendages, lie thy offering of the lotus
Leaf before the divine, and may it appease the God's, from which it draws
Life itself from be thy finest gift ever sacrificed,
Tender are their tears are shed, for she the sparrow of mortality.
Exhalted amongst the stars in the very heavens on high,
A beauty figure thus stands, poring the water of life into the deep
Rivers of the universe, and behind her ear lies a lotus blossom.
That blooms eternal.

Premium Member Hanging On For Dear Life

I was pulled from a swimming pool when I was 7 years old
   gasping, frightened, cold
must learn to be water safe before I go in over my head

I was struck by a car when I was 9
bruised, shaken, embarrassed, but very much alive
must learn to look both ways

I was told my pneumonia was touch and go when I was 14
I'd never seen a doctor look so worried before
   must learn to rest

I took a corner too fast on my bike when I was 17
   cut, bleeding, startled
must learn to ride more slowly around corners

I was rescued by a lifeguard at the beach when I was 22
frightened by the immense power of the ocean currents
must learn to respect the rip tide

I was thankful for the seatbelt in a collision when I was 28
rattled by the poor judgement of the drunk driver
must learn to drive defensively and never presume safety

I emerged unscratched after spinning 360 on a wet freeway at 47
protected by a guardian angel from a potential fatality
must learn to check my tire treads and drive slowly

Not knowing the preciousness of life
until it was nearly snatched away
dear life, I love you so!

Thankful None

No thing is as it was to be thankful for, thankful none
To be that unthankful for the life we see
Seen or sought all store bought
Collecting venture every type
Fashion sensible inseams
Thankful for, thankful none who are giving
Paying back and paying front
Never paying forward to some
Ungrateful are the price tags that limit
A new arrival in style that fits best
Unthankful for, body image
Thankful for, thankful none
Who show off more than most have
In a world where care is rare to be found
Cold stares from every where unthankful for nights out
Inspections are as they go when value is through sight
Unthankful when the judgement is passed
As a cover of a book in dim light
Never reading past the surface to find thanks to give
Appreciation at a low without recognition
A simple thanks to goodbye, hello
I love you, you are forgiven
Thankful none those unthankful ones
Just a waste of time
Priceless is the value of freely being kind
Unthankful not for those thankful none who do not see quite yet
To be thankful for the preciousness of goodness that should be spread

Death ...

Death is NOT the enemy
It is but the longest part of eternity
The essential part that gives life its preciousness and value
It is the body's rest, the spirit's release, and the soul's freedom
When we again join tenderly with the Universe ... coalesce with the cosmos.

Apathy ...

Apathy is TRULY the enemy
It is the thief of all that's good and estimable
Its complacent dynamism will rob you of all you feel and find of value
It is the lie of substances - the voice they whisper you, sweet
That life is for THEIR purpose alone - the endless pursuit of euphoria.

Escape ...

Apathy's true and wily ambition
The artful, errant ambition it has perfected
Escape from worry, escape from stress, escape from pain and pity
But in truth, escape from love and emotion and responsibility ... and LIFE
An escape that is permanent, impervious and cold.

Death ...

Death can come to you in many ways
And it can come long, long before you breathe your last
For substances - the great lie - will strip your passions, for good and gone
Even if you are released from the grip of their addictions and affects
Your heart will never thrum - never MOVE - with the sacred intensity it did.

Poet ...

I am a poet, among other things
I do my best to write honestly, with unusual phrasing and imagery
Melding fresh word pairings and ideas with classic style ... and emotion
Imagine what I could write - the Sonnets and Odes and Verses and Rhymes
If I wasn't cursed by my own poor choices, to never feel DEEPLY ... again.

Fool ... oh, fool!

Premium Member The Preciousness of a Human Life

When we consider all the tragedies
that occurred in WW2 so very terrible
especially the loss of the Jewish people
so many so innocent utterly horrible

It beggars belief when we stop and think
consider the evil deeds on the innocent
everyone is equally human in the sight of God
morally distasteful, never thought it imminent

Every human life should be precious
for everyone whether rich or poor
every baby born is indeed a miracle
consider this for evil minds needs a cure

Be doing all you humanly can
that WW2 atrocities never to repeat
treat everyone with true respect
each deserves that for a first-class seat

(Just thinking of the atrocities of World War 2 in the evil done to the Jewish people young and old, pray that it wouldn't happen ever again.)

Premium Member The Faithful Sun

The faithful sun rose in the eastern sky
Slowly over the swamp and the mist on the water
Bringing the breeze that whispers through the cattails
And the dew-covered grass…

The sound of wing-slapped water as geese rise in flight
They call out with a symphony of voices
Welcoming the morning
Everywhere I look is teeming with life
Beauty
And Solitude…

The cry of the red-tailed hawk
The chiding crows
The heron stalking its prey…

Everything I see overwhelms me
Until it wells up in my eyes with gratitude
Until it fills my heart with hope…

You must look if you hope to see
Listen if you hope to hear
Sit in silence if you hope to understand
Empty yourself if you would be filled…

To be bathed in the landscape of Grace
Where your truth awaits
As one with all creation…

All of this birthed in me
As the essence of the Love of God
All things seen and unseen
As the sun bursts into my being…

Until the very light I sought to see
Blinds me with its brilliance
Transforming with mercy
Uniting me with its fragile beauty…

The preciousness of this fleeting moment
Shines in the reflections of the morning sun
On the surface of my soul…

I bow my heart before the artist!

Love Is Like a Plant

Love is like a flower
Delicate and fragile
It needs just the right
Ingredients to survive
Too much attention is like...
Too much water
You seem desperate
And the relationship drowns
From desperate attempts at clinginess
Too little attention is like...
Feeling dehydrated
From lack of attention (water)
You wonder if they care at all
So, you reach out to whatever
Water comes your way
Your roots grow deeper
To survive the pain
And you reach out to
Whatever you can take a hold of
Angry words are like...
The sun that scorches and withers
The plant and heart
Careless thoughts and actions are like...
The dog that walks all over
And chews up whatever it likes without thought or consequence
Crushing the stems and flowers under its clumsy feet
Good love is like the Gardner...
Who lovingly tends its plant
Knowing the rewards will be
First prize at the show
Knowing that whatever is put in the plant
Is received back as a reward in return
Good love is also found from the one who knows its value...
Knowing it is worth more than the finest gold
Or the most precious jewels
Many people would....
Give everything they possess
And or sell their soul to the devil
To have the one they love
Love is the most expensive treasure of all
And unlike a pirate you cannot steal it
But utmost joy to the one who has it
And can look upon its
Beauty and delicately hold it in its hand
To see and smell its preciousness
And not crush it
Out of a careless heart

Dark Paradise

As we departed for a long journey,
My heart punned with jocundity,

Had heard a lot about its beauty,
But didn’t know, will ‘be welcomed so haughtily,

As I propelled on non-native soil,
It seemed so preposterously royal,

Still there, ah I missed my home,
Oh where I could fearlessly roam,

Where the noise of rickshaws,
It seems so soothing the way it draws!

Where we wait for that oily heavy breakfast,
While licking my fingers I bet! I in contrast!
They pour so oil in them that would‘ve surpassed
The oil in deep ocean … that America cast!

They call east is submerged into Spirituality’s aptness
No but it is more traditional I say, tooting my profoundness!

Here nobody would be bothered if found felonious,
But if disobeyed family, would be considered vicious.

I’m telling you about the preciousness of my land,
About the norms people engulf, in my homeland,

We gather now and then to celebrate,
The loves we give each other, make us grate,

In my home, neighbors are never left alone,
Such a hospitality inn! Greeted as are our own

Girls wear the shirts, better shawled,
Which west calls modest but I say,
These are the values, in which they are mold,
These are our norms practiced since Islam borne!

Please don’t turn over from its today’s view
it still is the paradise though dark, I construe!

Precious Is Your Love

Marvin was right.
You are the love of my life.
Heaven must have sent you from above.
Because to me precious is your love.

Marvin is a genius.
Can I get a witness?
Your love is more precious than any stone.
It's stronger than calcium in bones.

Marvin is legendary.
Your love is so precious to me it's scary.
It's more lyrical than a verse in any song.
It's more powerful than any king on the throne.

Precious is your love to me
I want your love to travel like Marvin
Through my musical history.
The preciousness of your love
Is truly sent from above.

Broken Promises

Putting on my rings
my hand reached past the one
I was looking for to the ones
Pillowed softly in the back

I gently touched them
Then without emotion take them out
And slipped them on my finger

Memories went through my mind
Like a silent movie

The delight I had when you gave them to me
How hard I tried to think of every reason
to use my hands and show them off

The way I would twist them when I was nervous
The white band they made with a summer tan
And the day I took them off

I promised you forever
but I stole my promise back
somewhere in all those years
of pretending to be happy
My heart rusted from neglect

I determined that a person that enjoys his own misery
Learns to resent rainbows
Lonelier with you than I ever was alone
I selfishly chose my own happiness
and finally I have given up the guilt of
not being able to 'fix' it

What do you do with old wedding rings
Are they demoted to whatever monetary value
They may have

Are they tucked forever away
with the baby teeth and first shoes

Does the preciousness of the love they once
Symbolized have any value

Without emotion I pillowed them back into
The softness and closed the box

Possibly you broke some promises too

Child of My Heart

It is in the exquisite depth of your eyes
That I see a brave new world
I cannot help but melt into
The constellations of Essence
And soft innocence
Of your preciousness
Little child...

It is in the trusting grasp of your dimpled little hand
Around my finger
That I feel a connection so profound
A kindred fastening of souls
Yours and mine
Little child...

And when I fall into your beautiful smile
I am lost in Eternity's sunrise
In the warmth of a softly gilded sun
I feel the intoxication
Of your heavenly perfection

Little child of my heart
I love you

Life As the Four Seasons

What kind of mood do we usually have ?

Sometimes a feeling , like when the desert needs its rain ,
Sometimes a feeling , like when the earth needs its sun ,
Sometimes a feeling , like when the silent ground needs its vivid sound.

How does life usually reflect on us ?

Sometimes it can be cold and silent like the winter does. Diligently seeking for a warmness emotion and Soulfully trying for a harmless motion.

Sometimes it can be calm and lively like the spring does. Heartfully letting its joyable impression and Truthfully showing its lovable expression.

Sometimes it can be hot and energizing like the summer does. Revealing bitterly its affinity and Providing assuredly its ability.

Sometimes it can be windy and unbalanced like the autumn does. Steadly holding in the turbulences and Adaptably stabilizing in the circumstances.

These seasons circle one by another, each of them giving and taking some of our preciousness.

No matter in which season our path might be caught ,
We always have to act tightly for what we like , behave knightly for what we care.

Tick Tock , Tick Tock

Tick tock…tick tock
tick tock goes the clock

With each stroke of its hand
robbing me of youth and vigor
scarring the skin, discoloring the hair
and causing me suddenly to wither.

Just when I’m getting my bearings
in this immense place called life
Navigating somewhat smoothly
and appreciating the preciousness of a moment
it defaces me with its every strike

Withering away on the outside
while being renewed within
is the cruelest blight I believe
that has been cast upon each and every human

Alas! Alas!...tick tock...tick tock
tick tock....goes the clock

Premium Member A Pearl of Great Price

(Preciousness of the Kingdom of God)
MT 13:45-46

Again
The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls
When he finds a pearl of great price
He goes and sells all that he has and buys it.

Reflection
Heaven is a Treasure
Had Rocky milestones and obstacles
He found the treasure
Walked out on everything
Followed the path to the treasure
