Best Play Up Poems
Go with the flow
Where zephyrs blow
Parallel the weather
Light as a feather
Set it adrift
Life is a gift
Open your heart
Play up the part
Let your mind soar
Your passions roar
Wonder if you have a hit
Stop don’t overthink it
You risk paralysis
With excess analysis
Set your dreams free
You be you and I’ll be me

~The Green Eyed Lad~
Nah Then, I’d like to spin you a yarn and weave a story for you to enjoy
It’s about a lad I know and I would have liked to have met as a boy
He is well traveled and I believe well read
His family worldwide they now seem to have spread.
Age is there now and his maturity abounds,
A deep sense of fun though is still around.
His eyes are green even though I’ve not seen
He says they are fading, but I bet they still gleam.
We have never met we are miles apart.
But I don’t have to see him for him to capture my heart
He has a deep affection for the place of his birth
He writes with a skill a longing and mirth.
It would have been nice to play up Wingate Nick
Share spice, have fun, and then take the mick.
We could have made up such fanciful fables
But we can’t go back or wish no, no one is able.
And round Heber’s Ghyll and perhaps Sugar Hill
At the bottom of which the Post Office is still.
His words that soothe and manipulate my senses
Upbuilding and mindful, no need for defenses.
If ?we met for a dinner He’s say “Get yourself outside of that” I think…
Because that’s the way they speak, they are violets that don’t shrink
It would have been fun to meet him weaving and plying his trade
Bought up with the clickerty clack that the weaving looms made.
But time passes us by and at too great a speed
Events mold our lives how they want, and not how we need
So to this green eyed lad I say thanks for being there
You know who you are, it's up to you if you share….

Following rules, we learned as kids,do you remember?
Do not take another's pencil, it is a sin, nor their precious toys
nor dimes to in your pockets, put in,
What allows us now, to steal with such giddy, sin-filled ploy?
Whether be it a car-jacking or a despicable looting done on camera
with grimacing, hideous joy?
Most of us are not thieves, and raise heck at plagiarists!
But things now escaped in adults as crooks as forgers or "fraud-sters anonymous."
The simple truth is that things taken, display a huge lack of integrity,
And simply fail, with their lack of character and bald- faced chicanery.
Play up front and honest is my call.
Pretend you made a home-run,when in fact, all you had was a foul ball?
Winners fulfill promises, losers on their faces will fall.
Cheating wins no games in life, that's a big loser's call.

Dedicated to Maria, my daughter, a woman of ethics and
elected to office legally. Thank you. It was a hard road but
you made a difference for the good~ in many!
Wow~ a woman of integrity. Without that, nothing works.

must it be for contest prompt to make you read my lines?
must I play up to the theme so that you'll take the time?
must I spend inordinate time to visit everyone?
must it be that what you read are poems that have won?
Won't you come and visit me, and read a rhyme or two?
Leave a little comment there and say, "How do you do?"
Won't you read these simple words for love of poetry?
Won't you come and spend some time with silly little me?

Its there I want to feel your curves drip in wetness.
To feel your chills turn cold as I drive you up the wall.
I want taste your pleasure with my tongue as I run wild.
Wild through your valleys I can hear the waterfall run.
Drip, drip your juices flow from deep within..
The heat unbareable but a pleasure none the less.
It's winter time but I'm sweating like summer is here.
As you find me at play up and down your bodies sensation.
My lips you feel tugging your emotion as they gently kiss your curves.
The spots I hit you've never known this before.
As I find everyone that puts you in a twitch and a awh of the moment.
The peaks are hard as snow cap mountains in a winter blizzard.
Our bodies skin to skin all wrapped in loves pleasures.
The moment we share be of great spirit and soul devine.
But the love we play through our emotion only to find.
To find that we both most want and that is to be near and loved.
But to be stripped and done in a way none other has ever know.
But to pleasure you through and through as I kiss you softly.
I just want to explode in the excitement of two in love.
But feel you next to me naked and both us sweating as the fan blows through.

Jack's a nickname, my real name's Charles
Guess I've got some 'splaining to do
My sisters and Mom wanted “Jack Norman”
Dad won, that's why you're confused
My sisters and Mom said they wouldn't give in
And would call me Jack anyway
For my entire life been called by a nickname
Confusing? You betcha to this day
A bone of contention all through my life
Whenever I'd sign legal documents
Am looked at like I'm a bit on the shady side
So I'd play up this silly pretence
Acte suspicious, stutter and stammer
Misspell my name C-a-r-l-e-s
Get a kick out the sideways glances I get
As they considered a possible arrest
Finally fill them in on this problem I've had
Since the very first day of my birth
Chuckled as they realized I was who I was
And apologized for what it was worth
Jack's a nickname, my real name's Charles
Now you know the rest of the story

I've spent my whole damn life isolated on my own,
born to walk alone, it's the only way I've known.
It's like you couldn't do it because it would be to scary,
but I've always done it, toughened up no fairy.
So if people want to think that I have lost the plot,
then I'll play up to it while they smoke the pot,
let it not be forgot that out of the whole lot,
only I stopped the weed and booze, clear head I've got.
But not knowing where I stand is a certain uncertainty,
and now it overcomes as I act unnervingly,
the unknown causes anxiety, I lose composure,
not with everyone just those I was closer.
If it's the madman when I was on the Ritalin that stays in your mind,
whom I wouldn't want to know either, he'd lost his mind,
and it's embarrassing for me to know I lived that story,
then I need to find new people and live the life before me.

Seven years have passed
since first I married him
Whence he succombed his bride
Yet when I told him of babe we’d due
it felt our love just withered up and died
For the man he changed,
no, the child we had not planned
Pushed me around until to others ashamed I lied
I’d fallen, or bumped myself again,
backed him up, supported him, everything denied.
When babe was born,
I thought we’d learn to love
Try to make things work together with pride
But now cut off from all my friends in time,
it’s nursing I only now that I must bide.
Although I raise our child
I am so sad, my life has stopped,
when they play up I fret that you will chide
and fear that you’ll know not of when to stop
Frightened, huddled close we rock, we hide.
Once grown up, at school a freedom found,
whilst you’re at work – your daily grind.
Lucky new friend we find to guide
us back to safety relieved, released.
Apart, I know head high that I had tried.

I'll paraphrase the Victorian news,
Germies are back, that's the news,
Lockdown living is the blip,
The economy is in deep blip,
Unemployment is up the blip,
Real estate is in the blip,
Weddings are off the grid,
Small business is in deep blip,
Remote learning is full of blip,
If your kids play up and moan,
Send them to their rooms with a phone,
Germs are here for me and you,
No elections here on the menu,
I paraphrase the Victorian news.....

Is There Any Chocolate Bars Out There – Recipes Needed
All the planets are just too far
For me to drive there in my car
I therefore can’t go there to explore
To see if they have chocolate bars
But wouldn’t it be so much fun
To Snickers to them up there some
My deep fried choco bars
Which we agree are not all yours
So, until my Mercury bar makes it way
As the Universal dish of the day
Up there in the Milky Way
We can still enjoy all that Mars goo
As we work, rest and play up there too
Whilst we travel all the way to Neptune
Or even on to Pluto to
Easter eggs though is my next plan
As I think that I can
Work out where Mars and the Moon
Means I come back to you very soon
After I wash off all the goo
When I have found the coconuts too
For our new Bounty home
So no more Twix or silly tricks,
I will just give to you chocolate
Whether made in Heaven, or the Milky Way
If you want some just come and stay.

Again we presume one another
Revealing to highest degrees
I play up as you shoot down
Intentions for you to leave
How you open for me so easily
What I see and what you think
Lies aren't behind the midst
Truth isn't disappearing ink

None rankle me like a parent so blind,
he or she that see what they choose to see.
O readers, I beg of that rudest kind
must they breed so damn prolifically?
A time to be seen, a time to be heard,
such should be the nature of kids and kings -
and patience tempered with an ordered word
in the battle of wills and childish things.
All I ask of you children of the corn
is hold your quicksilver tongues as a rule,
but every minute a jackass is born
who will play up, play dumb, and play the fool!
Thus a child not chastised in transgression
is schooled in misdeed and not the lesson.

An inspiring and uplifting song. May we each find our true tribe mates. And may we each find our wings... And fly!
Let's show our wings and fly together
By Michelle Morris

There you are, sitting in one corner
Making a wallflower look sociable
Here I am, sitting in another corner
Looking around, wondering why I'm here
I catch your eye, and despite the sadness
There's a twinge of gladness
There's a relief that you're not alone
Yes, you're not alone in this moment
And between us, there is chemistry
And between us, there is energy
And between us, the light flows
And between us, the light grows
So, take my hand and let's get out of here
Let's show our wings and fly together
Smile and laugh and play up in the sky
Way up high between the stars
Is where we are
Together
Here we are now, sitting on a cloud
We can share our life stories and be proud
'Cos we made it through every day
Without a wing or a prayer, sometimes
Sometimes...
And yet we persevered
We had hope, we were brave
Throughout this long journey - life's journey
And between us, there is chemistry
And between us, there is energy
And between us, the light flows
And between us, the light grows
So, take my hand and let's live up here
Let's show our wings and fly together
Smile and laugh and play up in the sky
Way up high between the stars
Is where we are
Together
No more sitting in dark corners
No more hurt and betrayal as normal
No more sadness, loss of faith
Let's shine our brightness for the human race
And between us, there is chemistry
And between us, there is energy
And between us, the light flows
And between us, the light grows
So, take my hand and let's live up here
Let's show our wings and fly together
Smile and laugh and play up in the sky
Way up high between the stars
Is where we are
Together

Lyric
Sam, Sam, the drunken man
Hiccup, hiccup, stagger
Sprayed by the skunk again
Stench replaces swagger
Uncle is a rebel
Standards sinking lower
His Lust rings the death knell
Evil hands him over
Hiding in the closet
Moving from the shadows
Twist the truth to posit:
"Counterfeit their credos."
Urge grows ever stronger
Evil, even bolder
Acts are growing wronger
Sin the grim slave-holder
Sam, Sam, I know your plan
Play up victim chatter
Play down the bogeyman
Censor subject matter
Uncle is a front man
Paid to shill and tell lies
Lots of circus but no bread
The simpleton complies
Mocking moral wisdom
Bucking discipline's yoke
Twist the honor system:
"'Love your neighbor,' a joke."
Your debt is piling up
God's wrath, boiling over
Closer is His shake-up
When judgment takes over
Sam, Sam, you feckless man
Your gambit won't pay off
You shortened your life span
Your dying branch sawed-off
Uncle is agnostic
Paganish and profane
Justice is sarcastic
His rulings are insane
God's kindness towards you
Will no longer remain
Vengeance is overdue
Consequences are plain
Cut from His olive tree
Due to your unbelief
Uncle's owed penalty
Acquits God's faith motif-
"Faith is not a Schemer"
