Deep in warm wine
Outshining russet moon
Glazed in the glow of honey glass
Gold breeze

Drifting
Along the flood
Of wilted summer smiles,
While my sky sings in the fall of

Just As Sweet

A single red Rose sits on the corner

of the yellow linen draped table

in the open air cobblestone courtyard.

Under the star filled moonlit midnight sky

romance sings as the piano plays.

In walks you

just as sweet as that single Rose

your smile outshining the lustrous moon

wearing that periwinkle blue dress

accenting those eyes like a vane gated Tulip

I take your hand and we dance

we dance close

to the beat of the music and the beat of our hearts

upon white pure petals of the margarita

saying only "love me"

a single red rose sits on the corner table

showing our love.....but

you are more than just a Rose

you are a red Camellia,

the flame to my heart

you are the Calla Lilly blowing in the wind

so majestic and pure

the cheerful Crocus and the beautiful Orchid

lighting up my simple little world

You're more than just a Rose

having only one certain trait

you're my bouquet of wildflowers

all put together, you are great

Too Little Too Late

Half my soul shadows his reflection

leaving me with silent voices and vacant thoughts

But the other half , the other half lies hidden .Hidden and lost !

Lost in days of sending postcards,in months of sealing letters

lost in years of our laughter ,of warm long distant calls.

Lost in time and moons before ,

when it wasn't the spirit that moved me to bleed

nor my passion of fresh ink upon the rose ,

But it was an unsettled muse, the same muse

that captured my existence ,and obsessed me

to need it desperately all along.

Now this muse who left my world without identity,

who abandoned me , abandoned me when I needed it most

has made a return, an unexpected return with a will to belong.

It came back to me , and how it seduced me with its competent flame

outshining all the other stars ,Carrying me back to once upon a moment

where him and I left off . My muse came back ,

It whispered beyond unforgotten salts , and waves that dried my lips

that crushed my still heart back and forth.

It pleaded for re-union , for remembarance , for compassion ,

It begged to renew our vow , just oncemore.

But , it is too late, too late for empty chapters to be filled or be continued

too late for questions , for answers , for music ,for perfume and songs.

Its too late for wishes to conquer silver dust

when these nights do not dream about him anymore.

.

A tender smile, a fleeting glance
Missed beats of hearts and minds in trance
One feels a sense of something whole
Rest warm and soothing in the soul
Outshining aura’s brilliant glow
Upsurge of passions soon bestow
Strong flowing currents charged with fire
Now fanned and fed by love’s desire
Emboldened hearts combine to share
Surrender fears…lay each soul bare
Soon bond as one, their love declare.

Premium Member Autumn Fire

Those fiery leaves, before our eyes,
fall down like flames from autumn skies,
      and twirl with breezes to the ground;
begin to swirl and dance around.

With such intensity, they turned,
from velvet green to deep red-burned,
      outshining softer tans and golds,
bright flaming artistry unfolds.

And when the sun highlights deep hues
of leaves, that burn with crimson views,
the fires within our hearts ignite
to match the glow of fall's delight.

Here hand in hand, we feel the fire
   that autumn colors so inspire
and as we live our 'autumn years'
we share her glow till snow appears.

The Smallest Shofar

The rabbi had a lot of trouble
Blowing the shofar.*
The congregation waited
But the sounds were just bizarre.

Some strangled bursts of air came out
But music was resistant.
The notes he tried to play, I’d say,
Were pretty non-existent.

He tried three shofars – all were long,
The pride of any ram,
Including those who wandered
In the time of Abraham.

With children gathered at his feet,
The rabbi seemed distraught,
For with his biggest audience,
His efforts came to naught.

But then he grabbed, a last resort,
The smallest shofar yet.
Without a fancy curvy shape,
What music could he get?

He took a breath and we all smiled –
A golden tone emerged,
Outshining all those shofars
On which somebody had splurged.

That little shofar saved the day;
Its sound was strong and clear
And hopefully, it will be first
To have a chance next year.

The Soul of Words

In black and white, I adore framing my inner thoughts, my worries, my wants and hopes… Words! a world of abiding renewal… a space of a bountiful solitude… a state of illusive freedom… a journey to the nowhere!

once nature bestirred
a smiling heart is echoed
great rapture bestowed

words! they have a world of their own! You build them, feed them on your feelings, your viewpoints and creed… As soon as they blossom and stand on their own feet, they escape your grip… They soar high and you just have to trace their wonders, listen to their fanning wings, gape at their outstanding performances while they are outgrowing your black and white frame and outshining your very thoughts.

Pounding of musings
awake is the wonder muse
the heart resonates.
Boundless power to free be
in trance, another soul be.

How dare you, words of mine, infringe the laws of the Haibun world?! Haven’t I told you?! I’m not responsible if a Haiku has expanded into a Tanka!

Premium Member Perpetual Poetry

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.” Rumi

Life can be an incomplete glossary,
speech a haunting ghost,
in search of a perspicuous poem -
to express unspoken thoughts.

I remember when she said,

"Cue me poetry"

So, I became her perpetual poet,
engraving sweet soulful words
upon her bitter spiritless lips.

Fate had turned her into the Queen of Darkness,
but my heart glows in the dark.
Together we illuminated like a trillion twinkling stars,
outshining the enigmatic effervescent moon.

Her essence infused a refreshing presence,
like morning sunshine after a night of rain.
Slowly she became a pilgrim of my poetry,
and I, a sojourner lost within her soul.

As I wandered through her secret chapters,
my word weaving revealed her book of scars,
each drop of ink resembling her tepid tears.
Each vexatious verse purified through
a catalyst of catharsis, healed her wounds.

We are like quill and scribe,
vowels complimenting consonants,
completing an impeccable vocabulary -
without her there is no muse.

Premium Member Anemone

Amid colorful roses, and lovely dahlias, within a garden,
I found my space in a corner, a wildflower bred by no one,

Though my mistress wished to uproot me as a weed, I was firmly grounded.
My roots so tangled didn’t come off easy, and I refused to budge an inch.

So, I was allowed to be there amid the other plants.
When she watered her garden, I absorbed some aqua molecules like a sponge.
When she manured her plants, I drew nourishment like a famished child.

When butterflies befriended lovely flowers, I stayed silent,
with a secret craving for an amorous moment.

When the season came, I burst into bloom, outshining all other flowers.
Yes, I am an Anemone resembling close to Poppy or Dogwood.
On my delicate stem, I am cradled by the lullaby of the wind.
Now I stay so confident, smile so easily, and laugh without care.
I can grow where I like, you cannot tame me, I am a wildflower…!

Heaven In Me

I got a bit of heaven in me
May be that’s why I see
Every darkness brings on a new dawn.
I know it’s the heaven in me
That keeps me thriving for a new day
Full of wraps outshining my past.
It must be the heaven in me
Filling me with hopes greater than today
Telling me faith has its way!!!!
And the heaven in me
Sees’ the best in me
And all that’s great around me
So it’s only the heaven in me
That’s keeps me going
Knowing all that’s better is on the way!!!!!

Definition of ADAMANTINE
: rigidly firm : unyielding
These are scientifically proven and believed to be the very microscopic
building blocks of all mass. God particles are paranormal physical
evidence of God’s body of Spirit. One’s natural eyes can see
the glitter of these particles everywhere in masses of trillions
once one’s eyes are trained to see them.

Premium Member Here And There Again

I'm here again
Checking you out
Missing you again
Calling out

I'm here again
Taking you out
Kissing you again
Chilling out

Here we go again
Thinking where to go
Under the sun again
Outshining and ready to go

There we go again
Hanging on tree top lines
Under the clouds again
Unzipping the borderlines

Our world will never end
Up and down the bend
Left and right we hold so tight
For so much love we'll strongly fight

Award Winning Poem

Award winning poem crafted with precision,
From the finest word smith's concoction,
To capture the readers eye,
And move them to agree with I,

Every golden letter mellow to the core,
Molded to tell a tale untold before,
Veni vidi vici; so say I,
A pen and paper in hand till I die,

Swiftness in wordplay like a sparrow,
Able to set the mood right from happiness to sorrow,
Blowing the theme as wide as the clear blue sky,
Not forgetting stylistic devices to make the poem fly,

A poem that will stand out for all ages,
As the king of modern day poetry outshining all written pages,
Bringing out soliloquy in a persona,
So sweet you wish not to end it sooner,

Premium Member Want the Key

Man waits for his second coming, but is to blind to see
He came million of times before, but we didn't use our key

Each year, many millions of children, are born of his flesh
but, it's greed for riches and wealth, mankind does enmesh

Word's meanings, are tangled and stretched, to what end
with all this organized confusion, will mankind ever mend

His shape shifters still arrive here, as legends from the past
Will they lead us to his heaven, or keep us wandering aghast

Why? Our key is simple, all men must get on their knees,
Bow to worship and pray for children, and seek to appease

Their hearts and eyes, hold a true wealth, of riches untold
It can be seen in their spirit, outshining all of mans gold

Children are not just a resource, to be used and disposed
Born to us, his key, if we love, cherish, teach. It's enclosed
