Premium Member Tangled Inside

Lost in a maze of dreams
where nothing is as it seems,

- but then again, it never really was -

My heart is held captive behind an image,
         one
  of ghosts past

why do you leave me,
   so tangled inside

   reaching beyond this reality for,
sanity and peace of mind?

Set these vines that bind
           free,

release them from my soul

Author's Note~ I am not one to dwell in the deep and dark, shadows of nevermore. However, these emotions did touch my being many years ago. They held my heart.

Also, I was asked if I could post something here in this category.

Premium Member Our Love As Memories

* This for is called Acrostic, but this particular one forms a phrase on BOTH ends - I hope you enjoy it! *

                  ~

Yesterdays, never tell me where they run to
Only the callow days that breathed with you
Utter those resplendent whispers to my ear

Why did you let her go?' It hushes me, still
Each silver moment since has been an echo
Reverberating midst passion's sweet improv
Every memory is filled with an aching divine

My faculties still recall your beguiling aroma
Your flavor, even now, speaks to my senses

Soft, the moonlit eves, we swam in a dream
Open, the hearts we shared with a rare love
Unconcerned with the courses of its delirium
Lost to the realms those passions took us to
Many years have passed, but I can still hear
All our promises like petals - a life potpourri
They're faded now between the pages of life
Each one, a wilted bloom of love's memories.

Premium Member Christmas Magic

Can you remember Christmas long ago,
How those December days were waited for?
Remember how, so happy, we would go
Into those stores aglow with bright decor;
Such feelings of delight when Santa Claus,
Together with his bag of toys, was there?
Mid all the bustling, we would stop and pause
And whisper in his ear our toy-wish 'prayer.'
Such magic Christmas held that time of year.

Most everyone was filled with Christmas love,
And though the times were simple then, it's clear
Good spirits filled our hearts. Then from above
In dark of night more Christmas magic flowed,
Cause in the morn we'd find that it had snowed.

Premium Member falling like leaves again -

Below an aching sky of herringbone ...

Enfolded deep within a gamboge glen,

An old man sat recalling what had been

Unto the summers of his life, now flown.

This precious spot had given blossom to,

In arms of autumn, he and his true love,

For passion, falling like the leaves above

Upon the forest floor in moods of blue ...

Let burn, the fire of each late rendezvous.

For many years he'd hushed her silent call,

And now returned to set his yearning free ...

Like tender hearts, he'd leave her memory

Lost deep within the beauty ... of the fall.

Premium Member September Falls

Soaked in sapphire tears of forlorn flowers,
emanating hues of cinnamon light.
Perhaps, the healing herbs of harvest hours;
tender tendrils and the soft rose twilight~
evoke splitting truth through veiled, somber beams.
My love, this ink still curates magic's glow~
beneath the blazing stems of dahlia dreams,
engrossed in apricot embers that flow,
rippling with runes of russet memories.

Follow me to Persephone's verdant field,
as the moon twirls within brown reveries,
laced in pomegranate promises sealed,
lost in the grape green orchard of Hades' glance,
still breathing lilacs in a lustrous trance.

Premium Member Farewell To Summer

Farewell to summer, daily bringing heat
Arrivederci, warmth, I'll miss you so
Reluctantly, I bid adieu to waves
Enjoyed in balmy weather, thanks to you
Waving goodbye to toes bathed in a stream
Extending elegies of wakened dream
Lost to a frigid blast of autumn's gale
Laughing - to know that you'll be back next year

E-ven though she's been gone lo these many years,
D-id I tell her I loved her enough as I fight back the tears.
I-often think I'm the most blessed of men upon this earth,
T-hat God in His wisdom chose her to give me birth!
H-ow I cherish the many happy memories we did share,
M-ost of all her beautiful smile and crown of silvery hair!
A-nd I know that God placed upon her head a star-studded crown.
E-xemplary was she as she served her family with great renown!

Antidisestablishmentarianism

ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM (acrostic)

A lthough I’ve attempted some difficult and
N eddlesome poems in my decades of writing,
T he ultimate challenge had to be an acrostic
I n which the longest English word was chosen.
D eciding to undergo the absurd challenge
I delved into the history of these useless words and
S oon it became abundantly clear that
E asily the most popular of the contenders,
S hellacking Shakespeare’s ‘honorificabilitudintatibus’ and
T aught to students from kindergarden to grade twelve, was
A ntidisestablishmentarianism.
B ut sadly, there were multisyllabic monsters even
L onger, like the one we came to know and love
I n Walt Disney’s 'Mary Poppins'-
S upercalifragilisticexpialidocious- which
H as fourteen syllables and a letter count of 34.
M ost linguists agree that deciding on the longest word
E ntails whether or not you allow chemical
N ames like dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane
T ypically referred to as DDT.
A nother matter is the acceptability of lingo,
R igmarole, jargon, balderdash, twaddle and
I diomatic gibberish…
A ntidisestablishmentarianism,
N ot withstanding its pedantic appeal,
I s clearly the lexiconic choice and
S hould win the ‘Longest Word’ crown
M ade from elbow patches and Donegal tweed.

Misemployments

M isemployments historically abound,
I nterestingly enough, where no politicians are found.
S light of hand and twist of fact,
E nergies are wasted on the wrong tract.
M ost often there’s an underlying cause,
P reaching its’ worth won’t get any applause.
L essining the risk has no economic appeal,
O thers try repeatedly to obscure the deal.
Y ears go by with ever increasing investment,
M any troops are lost by political impressments.
E nter NOT some rhyme or reason,
N otwithstanding might be accusations of treason.
T here is one axiom to be used in order to win,
S urely we should remember, it’s harder to get OUT than IN!

For the acrostic challenge contest.

This in no way should cast any aspersions of our brave men and women in service.
God bless them all!

I think it's something much more

I nnocence is priceless in many ways
O nly the young can know of its wealth
