Farewell To Summer

Farewell to summer, daily bringing heat
Arrivederci, warmth, I'll miss you so
Reluctantly, I bid adieu to waves
Enjoyed in balmy weather, thanks to you
Waving goodbye to toes bathed in a stream
Extending elegies of wakened dream
Lost to a frigid blast of autumn's gale
Laughing - to know that you'll be back next year
